Chat
I don't know if anyone has requested this yet, but i will ask this now:
I guess we need a chat.
It's just a suggestion. I know that the owners of the site know what is better.
Thank you very much.

Yes I agree it would be interesting to be able to communicate with people here I only know by "posts" - Seeing as most of them are very respectful and polite - would be alot of fun to have real time conversations.
Add tot eh fact that i am still without a gaming group at the moment - would also fill a void that has given me as well.
cheers
Bravo

If a dice-bot were included, that would be perfect. We could actually run games there.
You know, there are IRC-clients that run in the browser window via _. It wouldn't be hard to set that up, and direct the link to a specific chatroom for the Atomic Think Tank. That way people who wanted to could enter a separate room for their game, leaving the main room for general chit chat.

Integrating a Flash Chat with a dice roller is easy. I have even worked on a d20 bot - where you can ask the bot the word Staggered and it will tell you the penalties for it. I had to remove the bot because it gets annoying when you are trying to talk to people in the chat room. Integrating a chat is really easy - you can make it pretty safe too. If you want to I can make my chat room available to people that want to use it for games - you don't even have to register.

I'd definitely be up for this, and I'm a big fan of the game idea. A persistent game world would be great for me, as I have on and off days with my roleplaying, so something I didn't have to give a cast-iron commitment to along these lines would be great.
Personally I think Digichat works well for White Wolf and their online chat game, but really any Java-based chat system would be good, integrated dicebot or no.

How about just using AIM chat? There's a die roller in there

Over at the Palladium RPG forums that I admin we use Digi-Chat for our chatrooms.
Digi-Chat is "ok" at best. Problem is with Digi-chats customer service. They have a nasty tendency to shut down their servers, update security (which tends to shut down your digichat service), etc... all without telling the client.
Digi-Chat is great in that you can integrate with the phpbb forum database (ie user accounts specifically).
