Star Trek Into Darkness [May 17, 2013]

The Abrams Star Trek sequel has a release date and a title. And probably crazy amounts of lens flare.

'We're in darkness, Spock. How can there still be that damn lens flare if we're in darkness?'

I was a big fan of the first one, and this one has Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain, so it'll probably be just as good.

Did you see Super 8? A dark basement...full of lens flare. Yup.

Well, it's nice to see the Enterprise is crashing into something this soon into the franchise. Hehe.

Looked to me like thy took it under water. Doesn't mean they crashed. May yap this enterprise is made of sterner stuff.

Looks like a pretty severe crash near the end of the trailer

"How many atmospheres can the ship take?"
"Well it's a spaceship. So between 1 and 0."
"This is all your fault! You shouldn't have taken that cat! You don't teleport into strange metal places and steal pets!"

possible spoilers

from what I understand, the Enterprise is under water trying to stay hidden from the native people on a planet. it's near the beginning. Spock is trying to stop a volcano from destroying the planet's atmosphere or something. The mission goes bad and they can't get Spock out without revealing the Enterprise to the people and Kirk decides to ignore the prime directive to save him. There's a clip at least detailing some of that online... and I'm fine with it for the most part. Holds up in a BS star trek sciency kinda way.

Not too sure how the ship is supposed to get there in the first place and then take off without anyone seeing it. Wouldn't an orbit behind a moon work better?
