Freedom City real geography question

Postby ciryon » Thu Mar 01, 2012 3:52 pm

Hello

I was reading Freedom City 2nd and in the possible location of the town I read
Freedom City wrote:
  • New England: Freedom City may be in Massachusetts, north of Boston or south of Cape Cod. It’s possible to place the city farther north in New Hampshire or Maine, or farther south in Rhode Island or Connecticut. Many of the city’s colonial elements fit in well with a New England locale
  • Mid-Atlantic: Freedom City could be located in southern New Jersey, putting it close to New York City and Atlantic City. (In fact, Freedom City’s geography is roughly based on an area in southern New Jersey.).

Usually in my regular FC campaignes, I put FC in the Maine but in Erde, the nazy occupies still occupy the Maine and so FC cannot be therefore in New England

Erde in Worlds of Freedom wrote:The Japanese are holding on tooth and nail to the Rocky Mountains and points west, while the Nazis cling to New England and roughly everything east of the Hudson River. We’re told NSSA Reichspräsident Robert Inglis (better known as the super-powered Übermensch) is now holed up in Boston with his wives and the rest of his super-Nazi pals.

So I supposed that the Nazi even if retreating would not allow the heart of the Resistance to be so close so for my Erde setting I assumed that the New Jersey was the most logic location because Lilith, the resistance leader say that almost most of Northern America is liberated. Since I never went to US, can someone tell me on which area FC is roughly based ?

Thanks and regards :)

Not so much "replace" as "make a lot smaller". Atlantic City would still have an oceanfront draw and would probably hold on to some of the entertainment/casino business purely by that value.

New Jersey makes sense. It's a Northern city, but close enough to the Mason-Dixon line that the claim that there were Confederate sympathizers during the Civil War sounds credible enough.
