Re: Welcome to the "Working Title?"-verse(Annihilation matter)

Post by ultra8 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 2:23 am

The Many colored rainbow of Annihilation matter.

Natural occuring:

Red:The most regularly encountered form of A-matter. It was first used on earth as a detourent against Battle Czar by Steel Commandoe(Jack Washington Jr.) during the Cold War and again in the modern era by Kenneth Kane to keep or weaken Divinos from his criminal dealings.
Mithrans are robbed of their powers and heightened senses by coming within mere feet of it.

Orange:Red A-matter that has been super-heated. Though it has half the power of regular A-matter it also has the added effect of causing immediate physical pain and debilitation.

Cherry:Has a drug-like effect, causing severe changes in personality, lose of inhibitions and becoming unpredictable acting purely on erotic and selfish emotions. Requires close contact with skin to be effective, such as being worn in a ring or necklace.
Withdrawl pains can be very ugly.

Black:One of the rarest found in nature, it has the ability to split a person or a person's personality into two separate entities.

Artificially constructed:
A-matter X
Artificial A-matter created by Kenneth Kane that can rob any mithrane of it's powers from yards away. Stopped using it due to 2 major faults 1) it was too costly to manufacture in bulk and 2) pro-longed exposure was making him lose his hair.

X-A-matter
This version of the A-matter causes intense pain as well as Mithran powers to behave oddly and skin to become transparent. Prolonged exposure causes powers to be increased beyond one's ability to control them.
This A-matter is used by the ruler of Pokolistan, General Zod as both a power source and detourent against both Divinos and Battle Czar when they were foolish enough to crack his armor.

Seeded
Due to the actions of Dr.Wheelo several unique variations of A-matter exist in isolated pockets of the A-zone.

Purple: Allows Mithrans to keep their powers while inside the A-zone but they lose them permanently upon re-entering normal space. As a trade off they do gain complete invunerability and hardened skin.

Gold: Weakens Mithrans and gives super speed, strength, flight and energy powers to average humans. Also grants massive bouts of insanity within 5 minutes of contact.

Platinum: Makes Mithrans immune to the natural affects of the A-zone and also grants heightened abilities and extra powers. Extremely rare and only found inside Dr. Wheelo's lab.

Blue: Makes Mithrans violently ill upon exposure but makes Ashurans totally immune to the effects of radiation poisoning.

Dr. Wheelo
Ancient mithran scientist whose deeds were so deplorable that his name and actions were stricken from the vary history of Mithran.
A brilliant scientist whose performed experiments in many fields such as biotechnology, gene-manipulation, crystalic fusion and cloning; just to name a few. Wheelo's ultimate goal was to modify the Mithran race using his science but before he could realize his goal he was exiled to the A-zone, where he soon died of old age and harsh conditions. But his faithful servant, Dr. Kochin managed to retrieve his remains and turned him into a cyborg.
Now he seeks to harvest the perfect body from which he'll continue his research and rebuild the Mithran race to perfection. Unfortunately he's chosen Divinos as the perfect candidate as Conquest while perfectly fit is to old and Drax is too young and also too unpredictable.
Though he's essentially a brain in a jar he has access to a massive enviro-suit/exoskeleton that he can customize to fit his needs. He also makes use of a massive lab complex that is capable of traveling to any location regardless of dimensional barrier.(when he was exiled to the A-zone his lab was already there waiting for him)
He currently advances his research by developing new forms of technology and minerals which he sells via special trans-matter gates to paying clients all over the galaxy. He sells blue A-matter to the Ashurans, nega-metal to the Thundarians and A-zone fauna, flora and inmates to mercenary circles or private collectors.

Zed
A security officer/inmate at the Cube. Zed was one of a number of A-zone prisoners released during a series of dimensional experiments done by the Cube's science team. Not wishing to return to his former imprisonment he was more than willing to turn on his cohorts and has become one of the regular staff in charge of the more hazardous levels of the penitentary.
More of a con-man than a warrior he managed to luck into an encropment of purple A-matter during his initial imprisonment, probably the only reason he's managed to survive so long. He's a coward 1st, loyal 2nd and smart enough to not bite the hand that feeds him.
He's got a mild addiction to the superhuman soap opera "To Save the World" as well as anything created by Merv Griffen.

Drax
The possible son of General Iblis or any of his followers, born in the A-zone and experimented on by Dr.Wheelo to enchance his abilities. He is so far the only being to benefit from Platinum A-matter(he was literally born within it) and looks to keep it that way.
He blames Divinos for the hell he's had to go through and has sworn to use his skull as a drink coaster and his spine and legs as chew-toys for his pets Glix and Chomp.
He has all the powers of a standard Mithran but increased to high levels and also has access to eye beams, piosonous blood and mild telepathy.

Conquest
A proto Ashuran/Early Mithran warmaster that was incharge of conquering the planet Tsufuru(which would one day become the planet Ashura). He was 1st encountered by a time traveling Divinos and Black Wing II when they were investigating a temporal anomely and were transported back in time thousands of years to the founding of Ashura. Though they were able to stop the cause of the temporal anomely their plan to stop the founding of Ashura and thus the creation of Briar the future leader of the Dominion, proved unsuccessful and dangerous when their battle accidently brought him into the present.
He is a living breathing "combat machine", he exists to fight and has little regard for things like planning or subtletry. Conquest is immensly strong, even when he was tricked into the A-zone to rob him of his powers he was still able to hold off the combined efforts of Divinos, Athena, Steel Commandoe and Black Wing II to subdue him.
Thanks to Dr. Wheelo's attempts to improve him he has an early mixture of both experimental purple and platinum A-matter in his blood stream, increasing his natural toughness and gifting him with an insanely high regenerative power and increased flight.

The Anhilation Kid
A young man named Mike Walker, working at a military research base, was caught in a explosion while trying to find a way to make his idol Divinos immune to A-matter radiation. The A-matter compounds entered his bloodstream, as well as his nervous system, turning his skin green and affecting his mind in vicious ways. Walker became "living, breathing A-matter," able to fire A-matter radiation from his hands.
Though he's been captured and cured several times none of it seems to stick. In fact if anything it seems to have given him the extra ability to change the form of A-mater to any kind his mind can conceive including unknown types like silver(high anxiathy), pearl(gender-swap) and ruby(random effects).
He now seeks to either destroy Divinos or help him become the greatest hero there is(sometimes it's both) and to destroy Kenneth Kane...mainly just because the guys' a prick.

I'm on of a bit of a space kick at the moment so expect some space themed stuff in the near future.

Re: Welcome to the "Working Title?"-verse(Space)

Post by ultra8 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:14 pm

Space is the Place part 1

The Milky Way Galaxy is broken up into 4 sizeable quadrants(alla Star Trek) with Earth, The Lor Republic, The Confederation of Allied Worldss, The Grue Unity and The Tsavong Hegemony as the major players in the Alpha Quadrant, The Saeduun, The Voth Imperium, The Mandaarians and the Myriad in the Beta Quadrant and The Thran Allegiance skirts the borderlines between the 2 while the Broan Empire glaciarly spreads it's influence from beyond the Beta/Delta divide.
The Gamma Quadrant is home to the Domminon and the the lesser known Vlar Confederation. The Malvan Empire lies in decadence throughout a good chunk of the Delta Quadrant.
Earth itself lies in a region of space referred to by the Myriad as the Nexus- a sort of galactic magnetic North that serves as a relative bearing for interstellar travel.

Earth is just the right amount of distance from each of the major and minor powers that even the ones with ftl capabilities think twice about traveling there(it also help's that Earth has a forebodding reputation among would-be galactic conquerers).
Though Earth has weathered it's share of invasions and managed to drive off even the most fearsome terrors of the cosmos it is still considered the boondocks by most of the galaxy at large("a quint little planet" at best and a "despicable mud ball" at worst )
It's out of the way nature brings plenty of thrillseeker tourists and un-desireables even though it's considered off-limits by both the Lor and Saeduun.

Relations
The Lor see it as a candidate for future inclusion and plan to indoctrine it into the Republic as soon as it reachs Tech Lv. 10 and establishes a planetary government, The Saeduun Republic as per an agreement with Doc Steele considers it a protectorate(this action may comeback to bite him now that their war with the Voth is on hiatus)The Myriad already see it as an associate and are just waiting for it to reach hyperspace capabilities to officially join it's ranks. The CoAW threads the path between protection and war since doing one may lead to the other with either the Tsavong or Thran, at most it's an ally.
The Dominion really couldn't care less about it since it's A)half a galaxy away and B)it's war is with the Last Mithran...not the place where it keep's it's stuff.
The Broan are likewise ill-concerned, all will eventually fall to their great empire, why should they even ponder a dust mote a million victories from now when they have more important things to do in the present day.
The Grue would love nothing more than to conquer it for the past insults, the fact that it would royally cheese off the Tsavong is just an added bonus.
The Voth are content to leave the planet be for the moment though that tactic may change in the future.
The Planet Trade recognize it as a problem element for future business in the sector but are more than willing to follow their analysts suggestions of just waiting for the local inhabitants to either wipe themselves out either from war or ecological problems.
The Institute sees plenty of potential in it but would prefer that they 1st undergo a period 10,000 years of stablity before offering it a probational membership.
The rest of the galaxy don't see Earth as an active threat, at least at the present moment or are following the the Planet Trade's example. The Mandaarians are the only one of the big guns to have an active embassy (though it is on the Moon) and there are several smaller lesser known groups who have offered the olive branch in some asspect, though they limit what they can offer. They're kind not crazy.

Travel

Hyperspace
The standard and rule for most advanced star-farring races, your not considered one of the big boys until you've either made or found your first hyperdrive.
When activated, the hyperdrive shunts the starship into another dimension, where it can cover vast distances in an amount of time greatly reduced from the time it would take in "real" space. Once it reaches the point in hyperspace that corresponds to its destination in real space, it re-emerges. Using a hyperdrive allows one to travel the galaxy via one of the many jump gates or stations scattered throughout the galaxy. The hyperspace speed of a ship is represented by "class," Lower numbers indicate proportionally lower travel time, and thus higher speed.
For instance, a StarWing is class 1 and takes approximately seven hours to travel from Coruscant to Lor and three weeks to travel from Lor to High Galactica. In any case, hyperspace is an extremely fast method of travel, the only drawback is that there is a set number of safe hyperspace routes that date back 25,000 years prior to the establishment of the Republic. New routes are almost never scouted out, mostly because the end coordinates might place the traveling ship inside some star or planet.
Finding a complete map of the entire hyperspace network is difficult since most routes that would show a empires/organization defenses/weaknesses are usually omited.

There are two types of hyperdrives; interstellar, which only allows the ship using that hyperdrive to travel between stars in one galaxy in a relatively expedient manner, and intergalactic, which allows the ship using it to travel greater distances and at greater speed. Both are broken down into series rated from E to A depending on what level of hyperspace your passing through. D-B are the most commonly used with A and E being rarely used, A due to the high energy needed and E specifically because living thought forms and living mathematical equations are attracted to the higher brain functions of travellars the longer one stays there.
Note that only the Grigori, First Ones and High Galactics have access to intergalactic drives, but it's not uncommon to find one on the private market just expect to pay an empires worth in credits and even better if you have some idea how to work it.

A Jumpdrive while simillar in use and appearence allows a ship to overall bypass a jumpgate and enter hyperspace directly. This is usually restricted to large vessels, as opening a rift requires a staggering amount of power. Jump gates are used by larger vessels whenever possible, to save energy.
Traveling through hyperspace requires the aid of either an astromech droid or a navicomputer to read the beacon network that maps out the physical makeup of a hyperspace route and prevents ships from getting lost due to spacial anommolies.
An object (ship, device) that becomes lost in hyperspace can theoretically drift forever, and be rediscovered millennia later. Hyperspace also has currents, which will pull a disabled ship off the beacon network in a relatively short period of time.

Warp drive
The alternative to hyperspace travel is the warp drive, if the hyperdrive is a city car then the warp drive is akin to an off-road vehicle, capable of entering spots not normally reached by hyperspace.
In contrast to many other FTL technologies, such as a "jump drive" or Slipstream, the warp drive does not permit instantaneous travel between two points; instead, warp drive technology creates an artificial "bubble" of normal space-time that surrounds the spacecraft (as opposed to entering a separate realm or dimension like hyperspace). Consequently, spacecraft at warp velocity can continue to interact with objects in normal space.
Warp drives are good for those who want to access areas off the beaten path but at a speed that's still faster than sub-luminal propulsion. Most trading ships usually have an extra warp drive along with a hyperdrive for emergencies.

Hyper drive is more preffered to Warp drive since it can take days to get accros the galaxy instead of weeks.
"Holocomm" transmissions are faster-than-light communications signals, sent through hyperspace that can be intercepted regarless of jump or warp capabilities.

Slipstream
The standard method of travel by most Myriad races. A slipstream drive opens a slippoint which the ship enters. The pilot then navigates a series of slipstream "tunnels" until they reach the desired slippoint where they exit the slipstream. The effect is best described as a series of non-stop roller coaster rides while standing still.
Slipspace travel is, when measured by Faster Than Light standards, slow. It can take weeks or months to travel from system to system, A craft that travels through slipspace appears to travel faster than light to an outside observer. The craft does not travel through normal space, but around it. However slipstream travel does not have to be navigated carefully and does not interact with real space and so allows the ship to go straight through anything but black holes. Slipstream is a usually a oneway process, once entered a ship must stay on the route until it reaches an exit point and it's almost impossible to fall out of slipstream as opposed to hyperspace or warp. Exiting slipstream near the edge of a galaxy or in certain regions of space could be dangerous because it is difficult to find a slippoint in these areas. If a slippoint cannot be found, or a slipstream drive is damaged, the ship is stranded and limited to slower than light speed.

Due to the complex nature of slipstream probability and difficulty in mapping it, Slipspace has the unusual property that it cannot be navigated by machine-based intelligence, however advanced. Only biological entities are capable of successfully navigating it.

Quantum space/slipstream
The Quantum slipstream is a narrowly-focused, directed field that is initiated by manipulating the fabric of the space-time continuum at the quantum level using a starship's navigational deflector array. It works by focusing a quantum field through a deflector dish to generate massive changes in local space curvature. This creates a subspace tunnel, which is projected ahead of the vessel. Once a ship has entered this tunnel, the forces inside propel it at incredible speed. In order to maintain the slipstream, a ship has to constantly modify the quantum field with its deflector dish; however, the calculations involved are too complicated, with most shipboard computers unable to map the phase variance in the slipstream fast enough to calculate deflector corrections. Which usually results with the ship coming out of the slipstream and crashing into whatever physical body is in it's path.
Quantum slipstream drive is presumably the standard means of interstellar travel used by the Zorn and the peacekeeping group Celestial.

Probability engines
One of the most confusing and dangerous forms of travel, by using a probability engine one can literally travel from one side of the universe to another, unfortunately the dangers over weigh the benefits as you are just as likely to be transported to a different time or dimension or even transported to the exact time and space you were in a few seconds ago. The extreme cases are just as horrifying.
Ex:Durring a raid on a Thran guest-world a Tandu warship used a probability engine, directed by an Episiarch, to leap into the middle of a Thran fleet formation. The ship created a great deal of destruction, before the Tandu ship ceased to have ever existed. Though the raid was defeated the use of the engine had also caused the planet to be dislodged from it's orbit devastating the local populace.
So far the only beings to use it as a regular form of travel is the insectoid Tandu who are pretty much a bunch of zealotous psychopaths.
The risks of this probability drive deter most non Tandu races from using such technology.

the Array
Is a massive intergalactic teleporter designed by a as yet unknown race and the central foundation for a series of Gateway facilities that provide communication hubs, research outposts and starship docks; as well as trade and commerce to the other key points of the un-charted systems of the Galactic Rim. The Array is the only safe and quickest passage into the Golden, Ergos and Parriden Galaxies which would normally take decades or centuries to reach by regular space routes.
According to un-covered logs the Array at one time gave access to at least 28 different galaxies but is now limited to 8 local ones; 3 that are unreachable due to a rupture in hyperspace and 2 that's access coordinates are either blocked or erased.

Wormholes
Wormholes are natural holes in the fabric of space and time that can lead to other points in the known universe and sometimes places beyond it.
Passing through a natural wormhole can be tricky and very dangerous as some can be sensitive to your pyshe and in turn deposit you either in your past or in a form of space related to the Mirror Zone called an un-realized reality.
Un-realized realitys are extremely dangerous in that not only do they play to your desires or fears but also because the longer you stay in one the more you are re-written to fit that reality until there is no longer a you to go back to the real-one. It is advised that you must keep your "eye on the prize" and focus if you wish to get to your intended location. There's also the mild chance that the gravitational forces of the wormhole will also crush you into the size of a marble.
Many of these problems tend to stem from using naturally occuring wormholes in nature as opposed to artifically created ones used by some civilizations, though those seem to come with their own set of problems.

Stargates
A multigalaxy spanning network of planetary and spacial gates created by a long dead race of beings referred to as the Ancients(there's actually been a couple that have used that name). They allow for oneway travel from one part of the galaxy to the other via an artifically created wormhole activated by a set of place specific keys.
Though a few are found in Thran and Tsavong space the majority seem to be located in the region owned by the CoAW with at least 2 known to be found on Earth and a dozen between Lor and Grue space.
Many of these gates are advanced enough to bridge galaxies, with one leading to both the Ori and Pegusus Galaxy. The former being responsible for the Ori Invasion and the resulting war that sprung from it while the lesser allowed the far-flung Antares crew a shortcut home.
The remains of a simillar but much larger network can be found in the ruins of the Acathii civilization scattered throughout the Milky Way. Larger doesn't just describe the network's length but the shear size of the gate's themselves-some being mistaken for mountains or small asteroids. Using the gate is not reccomended for any purpose due to the fact that the many of the Rha'Zha'Keth are sealed within the countless sub-space pockets and universe nodes that line the networks Null space pathways.
Though these gates are all considered dead or burned out one was juryrigged back into service in order to shunt and enclose Abbadon in Null Space durring the final moments of the Orkus Invasion.

Re: Welcome to the "Working Title?"-verse(The Patriots)

Post by ultra8 » Tue Dec 14, 2010 5:24 pm

1YRLater

Patriots
The team has gone through some changes since the Orkus Invasion. With Blackwing II lost in space and Athena going on her own quest the team has been forced to re-bulster their numbers. Thanks to a contingency program designed to activate in the case he or the majority of the team went missing or were incapcitated. BlackWing II has set up a rotating membership of potential replacements just for any occasion. Some are new and many are questionable in nature but all have proven beneficial particularly in dealing with the aftermaths of both the Orkus Invasion and GeneEarth.
The current rooster is Splotch, Crimson Tarantula II, Lady Grayhaven, Ink and newcomers Android 2.7, Jane Mercury, Red Knight, Gravais, Odette, Fuzion(2) and Phantom Archer, with Dawn Wing II, Ultramind 2 and retired/reserve members Gil Leeds and his wife Chantal Chandler(the former Android-man & Janet Hermes) in a tech-support and research status. Splotch has often questioned who his replacement would be had his brother Ink not returned to active status but so far that question has fallen on def ears.

1.Athena - 1.Lady Grayhaven
2.Divinos - 2.Gravias
3.BlackWing II - 3.DawnWing II
4.Splotch - 4.???
5.Crimson Tarantula - 5.Phantom Archer
6.Steel Commando - 6.Red Knight
7.DawnWing II - 7.The Falconeer
8.??? - 8.???

So far they've had to deal with the leftover forces from the Orkus Invasion,
 a battle with the Hyper-exterminators
 The world shaking events of GeneEarth
 Teaming up with the Freedom League to fight the reality shifting power of Anslaight
 a team-up with the Guardians to stop the High Imperiax from re-terra forming California
 kidnapped by freedom fighters from the 70th century,
 been used as pawns in a game between Mr. Hoppy, his Counter-Earth counterpart Madam Margrett and the Power-mover
 Stopped the IronKhan from getting his hands on the Millenium Mirror
 Prevented a war between New Thule and Latveria orchestrated by the war god Kaz
 Been used as pawns in a transdimensional chess game between Mr. Hoppy, Misfit and her champions The Vigilance Force
 Teamed up with the Crown's Own to stop the Living Wicker Man
 Prevented the Serpent Queen faction of Viper from getting it's hands on the Cobra Crown and the Staff of Apophis
 Fought along side multiple time tossed teams to stop the Ultimate from escaping his prison in the City on the Edge of Eternity.
 Stopped the Scions of Extrophy from stealing the Map of Infinity
 and teamed up with both the Tommorow Society and the Champions to prevent the 65 from extracting Paragon's brain and inserting it into their new and improved Mega-Master Mold.(the irony wasn't lost on them)

Athena
Disparately seeking her former prote'ge after the warning she recieved from Tangent and Paradox, Athena has spent the last year juggling her dutties between being leader and her own private quest. Though she has come close to reaching her on several occasions she is always interrupted by a young girl with ghostly purple eyes. What ever this being is it seems intent on insuring that Hecate fullfills it's own sinister purposes and has even gone as far as to fling the entire Psychotic Seven into another dimension just to insure Athena didn't interfere in it's plans.
All Athena has to go on is that this being is targeting Ares and other gods of war and that it's powerfull enough to frighten even powerhouses like the demonic Emissary of Dahak.

Divinos
Has been dealing with the aftermath of the Orkus Invasion, in particular Ultramind's attempt to use Centurion's Sanctum to recreate Mithran on Earth. Though he was stopped by the combined forces of Divinos and the Next-Gen, he was successful in creating a miniature digitized version of it inside a dome in the Arctic wilderness.
While fighting the forces of Phantom on a paralle earth he also encountered an alternate version of Ultramind that tried to bargain for it's life by offering the location of the lost Mithran city of Ahura. Unfortunately before he could glean the exact information the organic computer spoke of from it's host it was killed by it's earth's versions of the Supreme Commissar and BlackWing. Though saddened by the sudden hurdle he has managed to find a lead all-beit a small one in the electronic version of Mithran and the far away Farscape Station and the Array.
A constant torn in his side has been the reverse-egineering tech company Octapuss-Umbrella which has been selling several multi-purpose goods which are suspicously Mithran in origin. He's had several conflicts with them and the Forever Knights over their mis-use of advanced technology.

Steel Commandoe
Has had a very crummy year. His best friend was lost in space, his girlfriend died and came back as a vampire in a completely different body and he just found out some of his old war buddies have been fighting on the "wrong" sides of the Unitrol war.
On the upside he's been given command of his own squad "War Machine"as part of the US' strategy to increase it's defenses. Unfortunately the downside is he's stuck working in the crossfire between NSA representative Henry Peter Gyrich and AEGIS Liaison Michael Specter. One want's a highly trained armored attack force while the other wants to make use of a new series of hollowed out Exterminator robots designed to be piloted by humans instead of AI.

Blackwing II
Glad to finally be back from his odyssey in space. He's currently dealing with the normal shocks a year abroad would cause as well as the abnormal ones. Several of the companies he had been working with(or planed to) have undergone tragic changes over the year like Williams Innovations going under or the hostile takeover of Ultra-tech by Nu-ware and it's immenent destruction by Ultra-tech's CEO which left it a literal smoking heap and Nu-ware holding the rights to the projects it was working on with Raven Enterprises. He's also lost out on several deals to the up and coming GTU and and the corporate think-tank Taliesin(the fact that they already have a working Helicarrier for civilian and military use before he could perfect a design does get under his skin some times).
Due to a dimensional snaffu from an event which he vaguely remember's even though he shouldn't be able to; he's now the proud owner of Asteroid-1010 or what should be called Genesis Island. He's still getting used to being associated with what the press have dubbed Science Island but that's the least of his problems.
Twilight has some how been resurrected and now runs his own mob, George Timmons has taken on at least 2 new apprentices- the unusual Greywings and the sullen Mistwing, there's a city in San Fransisco's harbor with an evil version of his company in it and he's had to deal with the mysterious Professor Corvax that wants to replace him with one of his 13 Phantoms and the equally mysterious Future Foundation that seems to be following one of his own plans to world domination.
What's most troubling is that he's discovered that he has this sudden irresistable urge to create something, even he doesn't know what it is but he know's that he's had this feeling ever since he and the others were trapped in space and escaping from the Archon Empire.

Splotch
Has had it pretty good actually. His brother's back in the hero game, he has 2 hot babes viaing for his attention and they're about to make a movie about him. For once things are looking up.
Joel is a little worried about his brother's new powers and where exactly they came from and has even asked Isis and Dr. Atom to (covertly)investigate the issue for him. He's just happy that everyone else is happy for a change, and is savoring his cake for as long as he can.

Crimson Tarrantula II
Ashley Morgan's life has gained some form of normalancy. After accquiring the fabled Bloodstone of Vladislas she no longer needs to feed on blood and can survive in sunlight indiffinetly. Unfortunately this has attracted the attention of many vampires and demons that seek the stone's powers, including it's original owner the psychotic Radu.
To make things even more troubling someone or something has been masquerading around as both a hero and a villian in her original body.

Ink(S)
Noah Stein has been given a new lease on life, he can walk again, is stronger than ever and even has his own new shadow gem. Unfortunately this came out of a deal with the mysterious Ms. M, his mobility restored and his on complimation of powers all in return for an un-named labor to be performed at a future date. If not for it being the only way to save his brother from being consumed by the shadowforce controling Darkling, he would have never agreed to this. The fact that everything so far seems to be on the up and up just makes it even more annoying.
Noah has been planning a trip to Arcadia to track down the occult detective the Luciferian and discover the connection between his benefactor and the fabled Mr.F.

Lady Grayhaven
The current heir of the Grayhaven estate has returned from the Lost World to help get the team back in shape and to also fight the rigors of boredom she's picked up since she went home.
She has become a form of field leader in Athena's absence and has even implamented some un-orthodox training procedures(death traps, sharks in the pool, random attacks by robot ninjas ect.).

Android 2.7
An autonomus artificial series 2 type 7 was a secret collabaration between Raven Enterprises and the FoWH in the event Black Wing I or II was unable to aid the Patriots for a pro-longed time.
His body is a collective hodge-podge of tech from everyone from Phantom, Viper, HoS, AIM and Exterminator weapons to Aegis, FoWH, UNTIL and META4 stealth and shield tech. Based off the G.I. Robot and Mighty-bot series but with more modern concepts.
A2.7 appearence is a bulky mix between a Honda P2-P3 series robot and an armored car(with a touch of Seraphim/Seravee Gundam ). Despite his bulky size he is actually quite hollow on the inside containing several weapons and equipment including extra limbs and even entirely other bodies for specific missions.
Isn't trusted by Ultramind2 but as he's said to her countless times "I can't tell you any other reason why I was built other than the reason stated in my production history."
He preffers to be called Android 2.7 regardless of Splotch and Ink's several attempts to give him codenames like Warchest, Workshop and Matryoshka"nesting doll". This has actually sparked a bit of a prank war between the trio.

Phantom Archer
Jean Paul Dodemont is the son of the original Phantom Archer, Pascal Dodemont. An Olympian level archer, he might have become a Gold medalist had he not developed his father’s teleportation abilities around the time of his 21st birthday. Under the tutelege of his father's English rival Robin Hood the Sixteenth and a former member of the Patriots, Jean has trained to become a hero in his own right.
His grand debut was durring the Molloks attempt to steal the Arc de Triomphe in one of their questionable attacks. Standing his ground against the much much larger and devastating Hammerklak-Korvissik he managed to wound the beast put almost lost a good portion of his torso in the process.
Impressed by the stand that his son took, Pascal turned over his own tools and the official name of the Phantom Archer.

Red Knight II
Jacob Schwarzwald is the nephew of a World War 2 battlesuit-wearing German super-soldier (the original Red Knight) who managed to avoid prosecution for war crimes. Determined to make up for his relative’s failings he's worked long and hard to become one of the premier heroes of Germany as well as it's 1st representative for the Global Guardians during it's founding years.
He's gotten critical acclaim for slaying one of Toldaz the Destroyer's dragons during the Orkus invasion and has proven himself more than once that he's not just Steel Commandoes "fill-in" during government stuff.

Jane Mercury
Jane Semreh is a bit of an oddity, she has no past, never removes her mask and though no one has ever met her she still came recomended by Athena herself(though even she's doubtful of her association). If the internet is believed she is the original Jane Hermes regressed to a younger age, tabloids say she's an advanced syntoid from the future with Jane's memories, some are saying she's an avatar for the Greek god Hermes himself. Whatever the case Gil Leeds and Chantal Chandler are currently looking into unraveling this mysterious speedster.
Jane is capable of moving at intense speeds rivaling many of the world's fastest speedsters and is even capable of gathering the leftover kinectic energy she generates and harnessing it into an explosive attack.
A woman of few words, she has proven herself a capable and loyal allie even though she stills gives off a dual feeling of creepyness and mirth or as Splotch calls it "mirpyness".

Gravias
Michael Stafford witnessed the assassination of the hero Mr. Graviton back in 1997. Left for dead, the late hero had just enough time to give Michael his Grav-stone, an alien device imbued with the power over gravity and light. Michael was confused and quite affraid that he was not the right man to carry on the legacy of a hero. When he failed to use the Grav-stone to rescue some kids trapped in a burning school bus his sense of guilt and a side effect of the device took a great toll on Michael's psyche, turning him into a paranoid and lunatic man.
Deep down he's still haunted by that monumental failure and each time he helps he's scared he'll screw up just as bad. The only reason he's still in the costume biz at all is the fact that destiny seems hell bent on dragging him back into that life at every turn; be it brainwashing, kidnapping or blackmail by villianous individuals or forced recruitment by heroic ones.
After years of flip-floping between hero and villian Michael's been given the opportunity to prove he can be a force for good(though even he's skeptical it'll work).
As Gravias Michael can bend or reflect light at will and can manipulate gravity around him to the point where he can make things utterly waitless or crush things with enough pressure that he could literally turn coal into a diamond(a method he's used well in the past). The one drawback to using the Grav-stone is it amplifies and influences the users psyche on a sub-consious level. If he suceeds in something he becomes greatly motivated if he fails then he's struck with a great bout of career crushing depression. The Grav-stone is also attuned to the user so that only one wielder can use it in his lifetime. Only death or the user giving it to a willingly participant can cut this connection.

Odette
A stow-away from the Patriots most recent incursion to Otherworld. The princess of a cursed hamlet called White Veil, she left in order to escape an arranged marriage by her father to a spoiled brat of a prince in the neighboring kingdom.
Due to a curse she has the power to turn into an elegant swan or if pressed or emotinal a savage chimeric beast. The curse sometimes give's her savantism allowing her access to wisdom or abilities not immediatly known to her.
Despite her young appearence she's been trained in swordmanship and some minor magic effects such as charm and illusion. She has a major crush on the Falconeer(much to his own grief) and has jumped at any chance to work with him.She as no current plans to return to her kingdom at least until she's found true love.
All attempts to enroll her in Claremont or Ravenwood have been un-successful as she tends to only appear when she is needed and disappears just as easily afterwards. There's also the case that she may be much older than she appears given her Otherworld heritage, a fact that Athena and Splotch have both pointed out on occasion.
She acts like a cultured old lady that's just now seems to be undergoing puberty.

Fuzion 2- the Nuclear Sorceror
One of the biggest results of GeneEarth was the return so-to speak of the outrageous hero Fuzion. Though everyone more or less remembers him, he is absolutely clueless as to who they are.
The reason is the original was the figment of a terminally ill child brought to life by Mr.Hoppy, however since Raven Enterprises settled the asteroid instead of the now non-existant Gene-Nation, that child recovered and became an adult who in turn had a child which is now unfortunately in a coma. The new Fuzion is an amalgamation of Mr. Hoppy's magic, unknown events and a father reading his son stories of one of his most favorite heroes.
With the power to control the electro-magnetic spectrum and alter the molecular make-up of any non-organic item, this version of Fuzion may not be as powerful as the original but he can still come pretty close. Add the fact that he's still coming into his abilities and you have a recipe for disaster.
So far Ink and Splotch have had to talk him out of re-creating his secret aboud at the North Pole and Steel Commando is just happy that most of the original's exploits are so hard to come buy that it keeps him from getting anymore strange ideas.

The original Fuzion is still around though in a limited capacity..if you call hanging out with the other cosmic beings like Qwip and Kallus a limited capacity.

The Falconeer
Roy Raymond, Jr. is the grandson of the original host of the famous television show "Impossible... But True!" and semi-freelance adventurer.
He has hosted a tabloid television series in Gotham City called Roy Raymond: Manstalker to varrying degrees of success. BlackWing I has always described Roy as one of the few detectives he admires, but who "chooses to waste his talents on daytime television" and so when Dawnwing II was looking for a replacement to handle his duties on the team while he was helping run Raven Enterprises and his own personal matters Roy was top on that list.
DawnWing II approached Roy Jr. while he was in the middle of rescueing a kidnaped girl in Hudson City to join the Patriots. He accepted the offer and became the Falconeer, with equipment left for that purpose by the long retired Blackwing I.
As the Falconeer, Roy wears a specialised and updated suit with a glider pack and lite body armor. He has the standard utility belt and an assortment of weapons built into his gaunlets. Imagine movie ver. Nite Owl with Supreme Power Nighthawk's helmet.
Roy can come off as an arrogant know-it-all at best or a total-douche at worst, but he's proven many a time that it's better to have him on your side in a fight than against you.

Good stuff Octavius - I'll try to post more when I can, but I'll need a while to digest this and work commitments keep me on a tight schedule.

Amazing work, you've made the Patriots in a huge homage to the Classic Avengers years before Avengers Disassembled.

Or maybe I'm just seeing it.

The craziness, wonderfulness, and awesomeness is all there in glorious four-color glory.

I'll have plenty of more comments ahead.

Honestly I was focusing on Osidian Age/post-52 JLA when I was working on this, but that peroid of the Avengers works too. I tried for the dis-organized yet organized feel that you usually see after a major event with a little hint of the JLU/MASK idea you mentioned a few posts back.
Looking forward to your comments.

Here's part 1 of my comments:
 Stopped the Scions of Extrophy from stealing the Map of Infinity
 and teamed up with both the Tommorow Society and the Champions to prevent the 65 from extracting Paragon's brain and inserting it into their new and improved Mega-Master Mold.(the irony wasn't lost on them)
I love this collection of "issues" so to speak. It sort of seems like Grant Morrison is writing the series. It's all very direct comic booky plots presented in a highly geeky manner with no attempt to hide the cross-references. It warms my fanboy heart.

:)
Athena

Disparately seeking her former prote'ge after the warning she recieved from Tangent and Paradox, Athena has spent the last year juggling her dutties between being leader and her own private quest. Though she has come close to reaching her on several occasions she is always interrupted by a young girl with ghostly purple eyes.
Who could this mysterious young woman be!? DUN DUN DUN. But yes, a quest to redeem Hecate is a perfectly valid long term character goal that you'd think plenty of writers would waste a dozen issues on before someone replaces them.

I always liked the bottle city of Kandor. I felt the whole treatment of New Krypton was a bit jerkish to be honest as I was quite fond of the idea of the Kryptonians living next store to us. I imagine Divinos is a great deal perkier now, which is weird because very few people notice any real change.

Angel Girl: Trust me, he's much happier!
Steel Commando
On the upside he's been given command of his own squad "War Machine"as part of the US' strategy to increase it's defenses. Unfortunately the downside is he's stuck working in the crossfire between NSA representative Henry Peter Gyrich and AEGIS Liaison Michael Specter. One want's a highly trained armored attack force while the other wants to make use of a new series of hollowed out Exterminator robots designed to be piloted by humans instead of AI.
I'd love to see the conversations between Henry Peter Gyrich and Michael Spectre. It's like a choice between a loyal citizen of the United States who is a frothing racist and blundering psycho versus a highly competant traitor to the government.

Really, I'd just love to see Shepherd's reaction to the Tony Stark like antics of Iron Man 2 in Congress.

Black Wing II
Twilight has some how been resurrected and now runs his own mob, George Timmons has taken on at least 2 new apprentices- the unusual Greywings and the sullen Mistwing, there's a city in San Fransisco's harbor with an evil version of his company in it and he's had to deal with the mysterious Professor Corvax that wants to replace him with one of his 13 Phantoms and the equally mysterious Future Foundation that seems to be following one of his own plans to world domination.
What I find most hilarious is that it took me a second reread to pause at the idea that Black Wing II has plans for world domination, much like Batman, you sort of assume "yes, that's perfectly normal for him."
Up until the point Mister Infamy tries to steal his marriage!

"I'm not married."
"Oh, well see you in ten years."
Ashley Morgan being essentially a Daywalker is definitely a case of Cursed With Awesome. Ditto her new body.

"You look like Kristanna Loken, stop complaining."
"Before I looked like Kate Beckinsale!"

But yes, it's now her purpose to WIPE OUT EVIL VAMPIRES!
"Ink, you must give up YOUR MARRIAGE!"
"I'm not..."
"DAMMIT! This is supposed to work."

:)

Lady DIANE Grayhaven is a character I never really got to elaborat on. In addition to being Sheena of the Jungle, she also is the Lara Croft analogue being an adventurer archaelogist meets Miss Fanservice. I just love the idea of her making death traps in the pool though.

"Why don't you tell her to stop."
"She might stop skinny dipping then."
"God, Alex."

That's MILADY fanservice to you, oik! she didn't go through several years of the most brutally carnivorous enviroment on Earth - finishing school - to become an egalitarian!
Lady Grayhaven still tears up at the old school song, but only because she has to face the prospect of going back there for reunions!

Black Wing II and Splotch despite being considered differing levels of seriousness, both breakdown into fanboy mode around him. Splotch fully believes that Alex funded the project out of a desire to create Transformers.

I imagine that Talos from the Freedomverse would probably have loved to recruit him, only to be soundly rebuffed.

"I was programmed to obey and serve humans."
"But you could rule over them or destroy them instead!"
"What would be the purpose of such an illogical waste of resources?"

Probably making Android 2.7 point out that hatred is a human emotion he doesn't possess, leading to Talos HATING HIM for implying he had more human qualities than robot.
Phantom Archer has probably curtailed his legendary smart mouth a bit since he's no longer with the Tomorrow Society and doesn't have to deal with "children, neurotic half-demons, and meade swilling man children." However, what's left just gets him a stare from Athena which makes him wither like the wounded egotist he is. He's starting to realize he has a lot to learn and is probably beginning to miss the family atmosphere of the Tomorrow Society.

The Patriots, for example, don't go carolling.
Probably more likely to be his flat out great-grandson and he's just denying it. After all, the old man is still a fairly controversial figure in Germany. I imagine he's probably a lot like Black Knight in the Avengers, being a bit on the insecure side no matter how many heroic deeds and determined to try and live up to impractical Arthurian ideals in the modern day.

I like to think Red Knight also probably isn't adverse to incorporating magic into his technology, unlike Steel Commando.
Jane Mercury

Jane is capable of moving at intense speeds rivaling many of the world's fastest speedsters and is even capable of gathering the leftover kinectic energy she generates and harnessing it into an explosive attack.
A woman of few words, she has proven herself a capable and loyal allie even though she stills gives off a dual feeling of creepyness and mirth or as Splotch calls it "mirpyness".
I'm envisioning her pretty much as Spitfire. A twenty something looking lass who just happens to still have the kind of speech patterns a woman from the 1940s might. Oh and nice reminder of Gil Leeds and Chantal, I remember those two fondly from the HED! game.

It's quite likely that the Patriots are keeping him on the team to watch him as much as actually out of a belief he should be a superhero. The realization they don't necessarilly think he has what it takes to be a hero may, sadly, be what it takes to push him over the edge.
Odette
She acts like a cultured old lady that's just now seems to be undergoing puberty.
Of course, in the centuries past, sixteen years old is perfectly appropriate for a hardy adult woman who wants to court a man!

Falconeer: Oh brother.

I like her!
Fuzion-2

The original Fuzion is still around though in a limited capacity..if you call hanging out with the other cosmic beings like Qwip and Kallus a limited capacity.
A nice way to ressurect the Nuclear Wizard. I also am now imagining the original Fusion becoming a 1 foot tall guy who routinely harasses his counterpart, trying to teach him the true meaning of heroism.

Yes, Nuke-Mite!
The Falconeer
Nice reference to Owlman from the Outsiders!

Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.
I had a post here previous but I didn't like the feel of what I wrote prior and kinda wished I saved some of it before I deleted it. :(
But yes it was fun coming up with this take on the Patriots and many of the ideas and quests set up will be further explained or are allready planned through.
 I know what the Big Bad at the end of Athena's quest is.
 Yes, part of Fuzion 2's creation was just so he could have a Nuke-mite.
 I'm happy that you liked the newcommers Odette and Adroid 2.7
 Gravias is the combined hero/villian paths from the rpg aid Mirror Universe, which I got the idea for Bay City's Mercury from {amongst some others for the future}.
 Mr. Hoppy's going to be having alot of fun soon.

I've got an event time-line for the Space portion almost finished as well as a series of alternate earth's the first of which is a twisted take on the War Games/HED!/Vigilence-verse. Which snowballed out of the Divinos outline. I'm also trying to make the upcoming entries on the Freedom League and the Guard alot different(style, portryal and effect wise), not to mentioned I keep adding stuff  .

I got alot of new rpg pdfs not to mention my other vices to contend with- Disgaea DS, Pokemon, Porn, unwatched movies and after a failed order I finally got a copy of the ellusive Transformers Allspark Allmanac.
Expect some fun stuff when I get the time to put it all down.

Lets take a look at the Galaxy's last couple of crises.

Space timeline
PART 1

As depicted in the NC Comics mini series Necromunda, The Necron: Convert and Die and Ori: Ascend or Burn one-shots, Orbit: The Long night, 3 Swords.
Amazing! comics' Tales of The Galactic Guardsmen, Galatic Guardsman: Alpha Protocall, Ymir Team-Up # 133,144-49 and Cosmic Special.
Crown Comics' Star Knight Chronicles and the Dashing Daedalus-Invasion specials.

NECROMUNDO___________________________________________________________________________________________

2007
 Necromunger Invasion of Lor and CoAP space begins

 Priors of the Ori arrive in the galaxy and begin preaching the word of Origin

 A time traveling Doctor Chronos stops the Timelord Omega from stealing Doc Aeon's body.

 The Lor trade world of Eden's Dawn is decimated by a Necromunger conquest token to announce their arrival to the galaxy.

:arrow:A plague begins to spread among the systems of the CoaP, more importantly the ones that either refused or ignored the teachings of Origin

 Several farm worlds belonging to Thran "guest" races are ravaged by a swarm of genetically enhanced insects.

 SWORD, FoWH and UNTIL shut down all offworld activity and lockdown and secure the 2 known Ancient Gates active on Earth.

 A Grue deep space scout gets caught in an interstellar storm and crash lands on the home world of the Crog Imperium.

:arrow:Planet Eaters attack the resort planet of Etropia

 The Ori's attempt to convert the inhabitants of Brunis III to Origin are interupted by a Necromunger conversion force. The Prior's attempts to slay them by force or plague is rendered moot by the fact that they are partially or already dead and leads to the prior's eventual capture and forced conversion.

 *One of many failed attempts by the Antares to reach the Milky Way via worm-hole travel. Almost destroyed in fire fight between Necromunger and Tsavong fleets above Carpethia.*

 The Gregori sequester themselves in Edenia while they attempt to find a cure to the plague spreading through open space

IT CAN'T POSSIBLY GET ANY WORSE______________________________________________________________________________________
 The Ori build a Supergate to their home galaxy

 The first of many Ori battle ships attack the coffin ships above the Necro-controlled planet Myden, unable to penatrate the Ori's superior shields necron forces evacuate the system. But not before activating the conquest token rendering the planet a dead world.

 A combined fleet of CoAP member world ships, Thundarian warbirds and Thran Allegiance Warmasters engage a lone Ori mothership. Though the whole fleet is decimated the Thran are able to cripple the ship and use it's own shields against it by collapsing a star and traping it in it's event horizon.

 Planet Stinxx is ripped in half both figurativly and literally in the battle between Necro Fleet Necron and an Ori mothership.

 In retalliation for several defeats at the hands of the Ori, Necro Fleet Cryx erradicates 3 undeveloped and freashly converted Ori worlds.

 Using information collected from Earth's under-sea Lyonese civilization ORBIT obtains the notes of Orlin and use it to create weapons capable of bypassing the Ori fleets shields.

 Galactic Guardsmen Sherman is contacted by the Vorlons and told to seek the elder one Loriean, one of the few beings that's old enough to know the full history of the Ori and the Ancients.

 Necro Fleet Grixis arrives from deepspace with the heavy assualt ships Cruel Ultimatum and Prince of Thralls and proceeds to devastate the Ori fleet roaming the Naguall system. Thus the Necromunger Invasion becomes a full 3-way war with the Ori and the residents of the galaxy.

 The Supreme commander of the Ori Army the Orici Adria arrives to lead her force in the Great crusade against the unbelievers of this galaxy and their masters the Ancients

 The stranded Grue scouts are discovered by the Crogs when one of it's meta-morphs offends one of the natives and fails the expected "Duel of Dismemberment", leading to the groups capture and experimentation/interrogation.

 the Cosmic Gamblers starting taking various bets on either who will win or which planet gets invaded or destroyed next.
