Three Worlds Campaign Setting Gods & Magic

Postby Bwgustaf » Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:12 pm

Deities
Erimas (LG Greater God): The Ruling God. He commands the Angelic Armies that Protect Cosmo.
Agwen (CG Intermediate Goddess): The Goddess of Birth & Creation. She watches over & protects newborn Souls. It is her duty to create new life.
Raiuden (LN Intermediate God): God of the Earth, Mountains, & Fortresses. He protects the Weapons of the Gods. His Duty is guarding the land of the Gods.
The Trinity (Joy, Truth, & Faith) (CG Lesser Goddess, LG Lesser God, NG Lesser Goddess): Also known as the Virtues each of these deities embody & protect an individual benevolent aspect of life. Joy embodies Happiness & the positive emotions that come from making others feel better. Truth embodies the hope that justice will ultimately prevail & that others must do good to ensure the reign of Goodness. Faith embodies the common belief that all are righteous & that goodness is proven by actions, not words. All three can combine their collective energies to enhance the others' powers.
Kabiel (LE Lesser God): God of Pain, Guilt, & Suffering. Kabiel was a troubled mortal that came into the Council of the Gods by Accident. Drawn into Cosmo by an ancient artifact, Kabiel sought to justify his own existence by slaying all evil beings before killing himself. But Raiuden made a pact with Kabiel that if he killed a cosmic dragon that threatened the gods no member of the Council would challenge him. Kabiel subverted the terms of the pact to gain eternal life & the power of omniscience. But Entropy, God of the Void & the only deity not a part of the council, still possesses the means to destroy him...
Entropy & Eternity (NE & NG Cosmic Entities): Twin entities of The Void & Space, Entropy & Eternity created the universe from their ceaseless struggles. While Entropy seeks to destroy all life, Eternity seeks to expand the universe ever onward, continuing mankind's evolution in the process. Entropy is also the only being that Kabiel genuinely fears.

"Minor" Gods
Trigora (LG Lesser God): God of the Body & Civilization. Trigora is charged with preservation of the body & control over wild animals. He is the Patron Deity of Liberty City & Cosmo.
Icejade (LN Lesser God): God of the Mind & Discipline. Icejade controls the Gates of the Dead & determines where lost souls belong. He is charged with the safekeeping of the human conciseness.
Merian (GG Demigod): God of the Soul & Travel. Son of Agwen & Raiuden. Merian guards the crossroads that enter Cosmo & ensures that those not meant to enter... don't.
Reimas (CG Demigoddess): And no it's not an anagram of Erimas. Reimas was a disgraced mind flayer in her mortal life, seeking to reverse the status quo & win her rebellious colony freedom from the their evil illithid masters. She was martyred in her efforts to stop the illithid custom of feasting on human brains. The gods rewarded her for her faith by making her a member of the divine council.
Caim, Lord of Night & Evil (NE Lesser God): Responsible for defeating the Old Gods so that humanity could rise as masters of the world. He is the patron of all who obtain power through treachery and murder. Despite hating all the gods, including Kabiel, he is responsible for the grow and progress of Humanity and may have played a role in convincing the divine council to accept Kabiel's former guidance.

Entropic Energy
Rules for Entropy: Resisted as Toxicity*, Acquired as Psychological or Moral Corruption, effects dependent on Target or Location of Entropic Event (the example event in gotham's amusement mile could effect either carnivals, crime, or children(i.e. if they were introduced because of the event)).
Effects not Listed: The entropic energy can be "spread" elsewhere due to "cosmic irregularities" (the example of Bruce "separating" from the batman). These "further mysteries" are due to entropy "setting up" for another event and must be resolved to prevent further corruption.
Time, Space, & the Joker (or how to avoid becoming entropic): The Universe exists according to certain rules (joker doesn't get killed, superman is from Krypton not Cardiff, the batman must be always be serious , etc.) Willful attempts to violate these rules through time travel or other means causes entropic incursions that lead to entropic events and exposure to uncontrolled entropic energy.
In general the actions to avoid are:
1. Not letting things run their course and/or die at their proper time. If batman is meant to die at 95 and you get him to 125 entropy will notice. Entropic Damage is more commonly caused by making changes to the past that are not harmful but have the potential to cause harm (kind of like telling penguin how to repair the holes in his boats & giving him the money to build more boats)
2. Trying to completely undo a cursed destiny. If someone (such as Bruce Wayne's parents) are destined to die at a certain time (such as batman's parents getting shot at the monarch theater), then attempts to hasten (or stall) this destiny will cause entropic damage. (To use the Waynes as an example, if Bruce's parents where noted as philanthropists and party-goers before Bruce became interested in movies then getting them involved in organized crime or making them actually work at a homeless shelter would be a considerable change to their historical image, but getting them to lend money to a stranger might be normal if it would be something they would have already done anyway.)
3. Leaving behind evidence of the future.
*Supernatural Handbook Corruption Chapter.

Light Colors
Light of Eternity: The "purest" from of light. Fights & Treats entropy and generally acts as "normal" light should.
The Green Light: Willpower, Empathy, & Madness. Varies in hue based on the "state" of it's wielder.
The Blue Light: Hope, Philosophy, & Inspiration. Wielders of the blue light must "abstain" from entropy (unless to treat or heal it).
The Red Light: Violence, Blood, & War. Wielders must "temper" their power with a purpose or risk losing themselves to Entropy
The Yellow Light: Fear, Partisanship, & Lineages. Existed as a "golden" light before entropy entered the "realm of eternity". Gains power from feuds between "light wielders" as well as the fear entity parallax.
The Indigo Light: Compassion, Intelligence, & Compromise. Wielded by penitents, "unsung heroes", and those that formerly served entropy.
Orange and Violet Lights are generally unchanged from DC canon. The Black Light (also called the "false" light) is a trap used by entropy to catch it's prey.

Laws of Magic
Law of Symmetry: Something must be taken from Earth to Cosmo when the same thing is brought to Earth & Visa Versa.
Law of Cycles: History Repeats. All things that leave Earth go to Cosmo & all things that leave Cosmo will eventually return to Earth (whether that is their wish or not).
Law of Connections: All things in Cosmo's universe are Connected to each other. Things that happen on a large scale will affect things that happen on a small scale & visa versa. I.E. an event that angers a minor earth spirit will eventually anger the neighboring spirits if not stopped, then the anger of the Earth will cause severe earth-based natural disasters. And a natural earthquake will also have a similar effect on a society's resident earth spirits (if any).
Magical Avatars: All mages have a key symbol or animal that hovers invisibly over them when they work magic.

Template for Atma Beings
Atma Physiology 8 (Container, Active)
Atma Crystal Skin (Protection 20) (+20 Toughness; Impervious; Ablative; Innate; Weak Point, Notes: Weak
Point: Sonic Attacks)
Atma Crystals are harder then solid steel & tougher then an substance known to man. Atma crystals "bleed" energy however so they fall apart easily. & like an other crystal they are subject to sonic vibrations.
Comprehend 5 (Animals - Speak To, Animals - Understand, Languages - You're Understood, Plants - Speak
To, Plants - Understand)
The first humans were much closer to nature then we are now. They easily spoke to all the natural lifeforms around them.
Crystal Wings (Flight 3) (Speed: 50 mph, 440 ft./rnd; Power Loss (If Wings are Restricted))
Atma-beings can form wings from their own base crystals. Stronger atma-beings have much larger wings.
Immunity 4 (Aging, Disease, Sleep, Starvation & Thirst; Innate)

The Holy Grail
Taken from Nazi Germany as war spoils during the Normandy Landing (a.k.a. D-day), the holy grail is currently protected by an interlocked security system that, if breached, will send its assailant to a completely random location in both space & time. The reason that the grail is so coveted is simply because it contains, within itself, a potentially limitless amount of atma, the same energy used by the gods in performing their "miracles". If taken with proper solemnity it can also perform other wonders, including ressurection & even the granting the ability to live "outside" of time as we know it.

Gods & Demons

The 7 Great Councils
1. The Aesir
2. The Bogovi
3. The Greek Pantheon
4. The Mesopotamian Pantheon
5. The Kami of Japan
6. The Inuit
& 7. The Gods of Cosmo

The 5 Vanished Masters*
1. The Hittite Gods
2. The People of the Mexica (Aztecs)
3. The People (Algonquins)
4. The Mayan Gods
5. The Orisha

*These Pantheons are semi-independent of the 7 Great Councils because they have either been conquered**, vanished from their homes, or begun to mix with other pantheons. They can still speak on behalf of their people, however.

**In the sense that their atma source has been depleted, not the kind of conquering implied by a divine war.
