Need an end game for Felix Faust plot

So I am working on notes for a big arch that I want to run for my DC Adventures game. I know that part of it will revolve around Felix Faust, trapping the angel Zauriel. The trap will allow Faust to gain Angelic powers on top of his arcane abilities making him an Uber challenge, that the players will have to rise up and stop. So I have the means I could use of suggestions as to Faust's goals and want he is trying to get out of this? And what happens if he wins?

One of main reasons I want to run this is to reveal details of a PC's back story. One PC in the game is the bastard son of John Constantine and a fallen angel. Up to now that player knows who his dad is but he is clueless as to the origin of his mother. This is a big reveal for the Player as well as the character, so I really want knock the players socks off.

Any suggestions would be most welcome and helpful.

Perhaps this is all coming together because of a mystical alignment or two. Faust knows his plan has the most potential because all of the mystical portents are stacked very heavily in his favor. He is doing it simply because things have never looked better and he isn't prepared to invest 5000 years until the next alignment comes together...

If he wins, you get to run a scenario that can be run several years in the gameworld future. Akin to the Elseworlds Annual "The Once and Future League" published in 1994.

The key sounds like he needs an angel's powers for some reason. This may mean whatever Maguffin he's looking for is in Heaven. Since there's no way he'll ever get in there, he needs to steal the celestial essence of an angel to "disguise" himself and get there himself. Odds are he needs rare mystic materials to do so, and the absorption from Zauriel may be temporary. Or it may need to be reversed before Zauriel dissipates into nothing.

Whatever Maguffin Faust needs to get is somewhere in Heaven, or a related realm that only angels can get to. Of course, this presents you the complication of getting your PCs there, including the half-angel PC. Perhaps an escort can gain them access, someone like the Phantom Stranger.

What does Faust need? Perhaps a soul to replace what is left of his own damaged goods. Or power. He's always going for power.

My first thought is FF wants to use the angel's pure essence to purge his soul of taint and bond it to him to boost its raw potential power, thus making it a powerful and mighty bargaining chip again. It's a bit convoluted but so's Faust.
