Scripts

Postby DarkMaster » Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:56 pm

I was wondering if there are any more detailed guis on writing scripts? I've read through file:///C:/herolab/Data/mutants/authoring/editor.htm all of those, but I'd like to get better and I'm having trouble moving forward with just them.

What sort of effects are you trying to achieve? If you describe what you're trying to do, I can help you figure out what to put in the scripts you need to write. :)

Well I'm not currently trying to do anything. But I want to understand the system better so that when I need to do something I can just type in the scripts I need and go Instead of having to sit on my hands until you or another more learned user can help me.

The best way is to look at existing scripts (for existing feats or powers), and try to figure out how they do what they do. Then try to think of some examples and think about how you would enter them yourself - things like adding to skills or other traits, for example. Maybe try to take a power from Ultimate Power and think about how you would implement it if it wasn't already in Hero Lab.

Hope this helps!
