[2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
Who's Illusion power are you talking about? You would need a pretty high rank and to cover at least visual and auditory.
And the Vorlick themselves would not be intimidated by a large group.

I think Gilliam meant Beacon's illusion power.
I was thinking that if they only know Amethyst is present, then she will go out and challenge them to single combat to save the city. You know the sort of thing ancient military leaders supposedly did. I win, you retreat, if I lose we surrender the city. That kinda thing.
Then lure the elementals into the valley where the entire team beats them up. If only one or two stay behind, Natah can deal with them.

Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
They would never accept that challenge. They would just attack you straight out. Since only 2 can fly, only two could follow you.
Also, you don't know this yet, but you may have guessed. These are not the same Elementals you fought on Earth. They only look the same. So they have no memory of your previous encounter.
Also, if Beacon power stunts Illusion (since I don't actually see it on his character sheet, though its possible I failed my reading comprehension check again), it would be visual only.

Yep, then I fly off and lead them away from the army.
Assuming I can survive their combined fire long enough to get away, that is. One stunned condition and I'm boned.

Amethyst doesn't know these are not the same Elementals she fought before, although I assume she will find out soon.
Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
Well, 2 is better than nothing. Natah can try to make Stoney follow him. If we can take those three out, Natah can go back again for the water guy.
Another idea I had was for Beacon to stunt some sort of selective area concealment that makes us all invisible. We then walk right into the enemy army, stab the elementals in the back and walk right out. But he probably can only produce Visual concealment, so Amethyst would need to make some sort of sound baffling device for it to be at all workable.
I'm starting to think that this is basically beyond our ability and we're better off going to find Highlord for help.
I'm out of ideas.

It's not beyond abilities, and Part 3 is YOU helping the Highlord, so that is out.
Sneaking in past a thousand or so Vorlick with only visual concealment would be problematic at best.
However, its likely that both Stoney and Splashy would follow Natah, since the other two are following Amethyst, and those two are the only ones they expect.

Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
The group invisibility is an idea I had but hadn't had time to post it here (been busy dealing with contractors the last couple of days getting my bathroom floor & wall repaired) but I figured given the number of Vorlicks we'd need to get past made that unlikely IMO.
EDIT: I see that kenseido already pointed that out.
At this point I'm favoring the idea of having Natah & Amethyst lead the Elementals into following them to separate locations where the rest of us could be waiting and turn the number game against them. Maybe have Kron & Natah working together while Xiphos, Amethyst and Beacon work on the other two Elementals.

Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
I think that's our best option then.

Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
That will definitely get them away from the others.

I'll leave it to Beacon to divvy up the ambush teams so that it's not just Amethyst telling everyone what to do.
I am also thinking that some way to tell Natah where to lead his 2 elementals to is a good idea. Maybe I can stunt a messenger drone as Communication or something.

Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
As I understand it, Ysariel, the positioning change is because the air and fire elementals can fly, and xiphos can't, so xiphos and Kron are switching positions in the respective teams to address that issue
Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
Yeah, I posted it as described, but then I noticed that Xiphos would miss out on the aerial battle, so I gave you all the option to change. While it may be possible to trick them a few times, it is unlikely the two fliers would go anywhere near the sword wielding guy on the ground.

Oh! So the teams are now Beacon, Kron and Amethyst, and Natah and Xiphos.
My brain must have mentally edited out Beacon and replaced it with Natah when I read your post. I will edit mine when I get home.

I edited my post.
The funny thing is I read kenseido's post before Kreuz's and even then it didn't register.
