Re: [2e] Crinosverse: San Antonio Avengers [OOC - Full]
So for simplicity sake, we will assume there is some sort of signal when he begins his attack.
So just let me know what the other part of the plan is, and we can move this along.

- Natah playing hit and run underground using burrowing against Earth
- Kron and Amethyst fighting Fire & Air in the sky
- Xiphos and Beacon lead the friendly Vorlick against the remaining Elemental and their army
Although Amethyst suggested the plan, I actually do not want to take the leader role from Beacon unless Tatooedman is not interested in it anymore.

No problems here with Amethyst's plan.
Beacon is a much more laid back kind of leader compared to Galen, so if someone has an idea and he doesn't see any flaws in it he'll go with it.

The only flaw is Kron would have to lead the Vorlick against obviously larger army.
Realize that you are essentially asking them to commit suicide against the numbers in question.

How about this: we don't come to them, they come to us.
Remember when Natah and Amethyst arrived they were in a mountain pass? We get Kron's crew to wait in the pass then lure the elementals away from the main army and up the pass. The elementals will surely send their clone troopers over to kick our asses and then they have to fight uphill into a narrow pass where their larger numbers do not give an advantage.

You are still talking less than a hundred Vorlick against several thousand mindless range machines. There aren't a lot of strategies that can overcome those odds.
Plus you have the Treshers and Cacti to consider. All non-combatants.

Okay, I need more information to work with.
When you say "There aren't a lot of strategies that can overcome those odds" does this mean there IS a strategy and we have not thought of it yet, or you do not want us using the friendly Vorlick in the battle, or something else?

becase at this rate, the only other option I can think of is some sort of anti-clone-ray kitbashed by Amethyst from the chieftan's clab

I know kenseido does not like one invention or power stunt to solve the entire scene, so that is unlikely.
But I am really stumped as well.
I don't intend to fight the plot, but I do need some idea about where the plot is going.

Using the Vorlick in battle is fine. Taking them up against the whole army is possible, but they will almost assuredly lose. They will even do it, but only if Kron is leading them.
Is there a strategy where they can win? Probably, just not one I can think of off the top of my head. Splitting out the Elementals from them is a good first step. Without coherent leaders, they could be led like lemmings. The trick is to separate the Elementals from them without them ordering the army to attack.

If I had known the odds were so bad then Amethyst would not have suggested a frontal attack in the first place, she would've been more cautious.
I have ideas on how to scout out their tactics and try to get more information IC but it's going to be pretty weird since narratively we were just about to launch.
I'll spend my 1 HP for inspiration.

Which is more or less why I brought it up over here and not the IC thread.

Keep the HP.
There are two reasons the Elementals might attack without the army.
1. They perceive a massive superiority over their opponents. They only know about Amethyst and soon will know about Natah.
2. The army needs to stay where they are to prevent them from losing their objective (the crystals).

Can we use illusions to make our numbers appear larger and if the battlefield was covered in mist at the same time?
