Lara Croft
Character Sheet
Condition: Normal
HP: 0

Spent a HP to get into the warehouse.

Lara moved quietly and with determined purpose. The device in her pack weighed her down slightly, but it was a small price to pay. The bike would only get her so far, but stubborn determination took over when the bike had to stop.

Her trademark sunglasses low on the bridge of her nose, her single braid down the back of her neck she kept one hand out for balance and the other on a pistol, ready to draw it. She assumed the others would be able to deal with the mundane guards. Banzai had given them a shot to take out the big robot and she intended to use it.

Now however, with the presence of Windcharger, if she managed to screw up, at least there was a back up plan... She came in trying to be quiet about it, but quickly abandoned stealth for speed.

She pulls routine acrobatics checks of 19.

1d20+7=27 Attack roll to plant the device... let's hope it works !

Dodge check needed after reading rogue's OOC post -
1d20+6=7 We'll HP that.

Lara Croft

Lara sped around Windcharger's legs and leaned her bike nearly horizontal as she slid under the rapidly closing loading bay door by the corner of the building. Upon entering the warehouse, she quickly righted herself and gunned the motorcycle around the surprised guards inside. She looped around the warehouse--past the mechanical crate, through some pallets, and around some stacked crates and containers--and got the over-sized enforcement droid in her sights. Before ED-209 could turn around, Lara pulled the EMP out of her bag and attached it to its spine. Her speed was so great she couldn't avoid crashing either into people or pallets, so she back-flipped off her bike and landed safely on her feet as the bike crashed and spun into the west wall.

The warehouse was silent for a moment as the guards and personnel absorbed what they just witnessed. Finally, the commander yelled, "Get her!"

OOC wrote:Lara avoided crashing into any of the guards by the bay door or any objects inside despite her speed. I decided her action would take the guards by surprise since a hp was spent, but they're ready to rumble on their next turn. The bike is okay, it'll just be a move action to pick up before it can be used again. The device is planted. Buckaroo, once he's aware of Lara's success, can trigger the EMP (standard action). See this post for details. All characters inside the warehouse would have seen Lara perform her stunt, though only Jareth may have seen her plant the EMP successfully (DC 15 perception to notice).

Chun-Li
HP: 2

Chun-Li watched for her opening. She wanted to get inside the large container being guarded, with as little confrontation as possible. She scanned not only for her opening, but for anyone that might possess a key card or knowledge to get in.

Finally the guards move and she makes her own.

Perception (1d20+4 =8)
Well, super duper. Without that knowledge, I'll just move after the guards take their actions this round (delay action) and then make my way to the floor. Then I'll make a random scientist my target and hope they can get me inside.

Take ten on Acrobatics for an 18 to descend safely. Chun-Li has a Leaping Rank of 1 if that helps.

Will take 10 on grabbing a scientist as well. That's a +8 for 18 total and a DC 13 grab.

Buckaroo

Buckaroo crouched on the catwalk and allowed his eyes to adjust to the lighting inside the warehouse for a moment. Spotting the giant robot was easy enough. The thing was huge but looked slow and ungraceful. Regardless, the thing still looked very dangerous with the massive weapons on the end of it's arms.

Buckaroo had to admit he was very impressed by Ms Croft's adept handling of her motorcycle. She was a very skillful rider.

He concentrated and thought he saw the EMP device on the giant robot.

Perception = 1d20+8=25

Praying he was right, he pressed the button on the makeshift remote to activate the device.

Ralph and Windcharger

Outside, your corner of the warehouse is temporarily devoid of any armed resistance, but you can hear alarms and calls for backup bouncing around the property. The far corners of the warehouse are soon populated with armed security moving into range and seeking cover. One of the snipers Windcharger noticed takes a shot, but it doesn't land anywhere near you. He must have shot something inside the warehouse through an upper window.

-5 for total cover and that's 17 total. It hits. DC 20 toughness.

Lara Croft

You have the full attention of a half dozen guards that currently surround you in a wide open semi-circle. Luckily, only two of the guards are armed. They instantly draw their weapons and aim at you. "On the floor!" one of them yells. "NOW!"

Chun-Li

The scientists and technicians scramble around the large environmental crate as you descend to the floor. Lara Croft's entrance served as a good distraction; you landed unnoticed. A middle-aged scientist with a salt-and-pepper beard checks some readings on the crate display and marks something off on his clipboard. He walks around to the back to check the power supply when you throw your arms up around him and cup his mouth. He drops his clipboard onto the floor, which clacks against the hard pavement. You quickly drag the man behind a stack of pallets, fearing others may have heard the commotion.

"Are you really going to shoot me?" Lara almost purrs in that sultry accent of hers.

However, she aims her weapons towards the cieling, popping the clip from one of guns and letting it clatter to the floor. Hoping that the noise distracts the guards or that they at least track the falling object for a second, she jumps at one of the armed guards.

Not sure if an attack roll is needed or something else, but here is a roll

Buckaroo

Buckaroo was surprised when he felt a sharp pain. It made him stumble forward a bit. Looking at the area of the pain, he saw he was bleeding. It wasn't a bad wound, more of a glancing shot, he would surmise.

Toughness = 1d20+6=19 That's one degree of failure so -1 to toughness checks.

He quickly moved away from the window, ducking low to avoid further detection.

Jareth

The white owl lands atop the catwalk, giving it the perfect view of the area around him. Seeing that Lara was in danger, the owls suddenly changed back into the Goblin King.

"We can't have such a pretty woman getting herself killed, can we?" the Goblin King said as the crystal reappeared in his hand. It rolled from his hand, seemingly guided by an invisible force off the catwalk and towards the second armed guard (the one Lara is not attacking). When it hit the ground floor, it started to roll faster and faster, the reflection of light on it's surface seeming to magnify and grow brighter until it looked like a glowing ball of brilliant energy. At the last moment, the crystal hopped off the ground, flying straight at the armed guard's chest.

Since Jareth really doesn't attack anyone in the movie, I had to get creative. :P

Ralph

The Greatest American Hero runs over to Windcharger and says, "We need to get in that building! We have to find those kids!" Windcharger turns to look at all the closed loading bay doors on the south side of the warehouse and then turns back to his teammate. Only, the Autobot is surprised to find his red-suited companion has disappeared!

OOC wrote:If Mark returns before this scene ends, I'll award him a hp for invoking his complication.

Lara and Jareth

The wealthy adventurer pops her clip and at the moment it clatters to the cold hard floor she makes her move. She cartwheels to the armed guard closest to her, her feet knocking the gun from his hand, before she spins him around into a nearby security guard, knocking them both unconscious. She swings her elbow into another guard's face, but he absorbs the blow, stopping her acrobatic attack. She is now sandwiched between the guard and her knocked over motorcycle. She wonders if she can make a move for the bike before the other armed guard can fire off a shot at her.

The Goblin King swoops down out of nowhere in owl form and instantly transforms into a man. He casually releases a crystal orb at the tough guard Lara just encountered and knocked him out with ease. The last remaining unarmed guard yelled, "I don't get paid enough for this!" and runs away, leaving one gun trained on Lara and Jareth.

One armed and one unarmed guard sees through Lara's ruse. Luckily for Lara, the guard closest to her that she attacks falls for it. So I'll grant a +2 to damage for anyone who fell for it. Lara has Takedown, so let's see if she can sweep!
Armed guard DC 18 toughness save: 1d20+6=15
First one down. Remaining will be DC 18, DC 16, DC 18, DC 16 (armed).
1d20+3=8, 1d20+3=19, 1d20+3=15, 1d20+6=14
One more goes down, but the 2nd unarmed guard makes his save, stopping Takedown.

GM wrote:Since Jareth specifically targeted someone Lara hadn't gotten to yet, I'll have him act after her.
1d20+3=16
Jareth takes out that guard, leaving only one armed and one unarmed guard left from the original group surrounding Lara.

Windcharger

Those two snipers were still a threat, the autobot wasted no time target the building they stood atop, and fired a large blast of energy. His goal was to shake and weaken the building enough to make them retreat. However Windcharger did not wait to see if his plan worked, he had already transformed into his smooth red ride, and had the pedal to the metal as closed the distance to the bay doors. He skidded to a halt at the last second, transforming once more and with his stuctural integrity field maxed, he attempted to rip the metal door off. Assuming it was nothing special, it should be like paper to the transformer's massive strength.

Inside the Warehouse

Sarah watched as Lara zoomed by on her motorcycle and crashed out of sight. She swore she saw a familiar owl among the pallets as she boarded the forklift, but she lost it. Not wanting to waste any time, she jams the vehicle into gear and charges at ED-209. Well, charges as much as a slow moving forklift can manage. Two large red cylinders sit atop the half-raised forks as she maneuvers towards the technological terror.

ED-209 twisted to follow Lara as she sped by and opened fire on the treasure hunter just as Sarah rammed the enforcement droid from behind. As Lara deftly avoided the attack, the robot lost its balance and fell forward as combustible liquid spilled all around it. Suddenly, sparks of electricity burst from the robot's spine and triggered a large explosion! The fireball knocks Sarah into the upper office inside the warehouse, sets some pallets ablaze, and knocks other personnel to the ground.

GM wrote:1d20+9=12
And that's a miss! Meh,

Buckaroo crouched up on the north catwalk pleased that his device worked, but then he realized the robot wasn't supposed to explode and hoped everyone was okay down below. He could hear the scientists and technicians directly below him freaking out and scrambling for cover.

Outside the Warehouse

Windcharger fires his blaster cannon at the office building behind the warehouse. He meant to scare the snipers away, but before he could see their reaction, he made for the loading bay doors. He tore through one of the middle bays and was surprised to find a heavily armed droid laying on its front with black smoke pouring out its back. Some other personnel were laying on the ground, injured from the explosion he had just heard.

Chun-Li, Lara, and Jareth are up! Chun-Li has a scientist behind a pallet, Lara and Jareth are near the west wall with two guards remaining, one of them armed. Everyone obviously would have seen/heard the explosion.

Chun-Li pushes the man up against the wall and makes sure he sees her weapon in her hand, near his face, her arm across his chest. "Tell me how to open the vault" she demands.

Instinctvely, Lara dove in a series of slip and cartwheels expecting a hail of bullets. Instead the force of the explosion carried her a little further than she expected.

Slamming the hilt of her empty gun onto the speed loader, she brings the weapon up and aims at the guard. One squeeze and a single bullet hurtles straight towards the security guard. Had someone been close enough to see her take aim, there likely would have been a shout not to use lethal force. A shout that would have come too late and... not been necessary.

The so-called Tomb Raider's aim was incredible, and she had targeted the guard's gun !

Lara's damage is Perception with the gun is also Precise...
