High Fantasy Adventure - Original Setting

Post by EPIC » Thu Oct 18, 2012 12:54 pm

Curious if anyone would be interested in an original fantasy setting adventure structured game. I'll post more info on tue setting, available races an such a little later after training.

It would be 3E, PL10 with an over the top action style tone.

High Fantasy Is awesome, but I gotta ask if we couldn't get a bit more info on the setting. Fantasy comes in many flavors after all.

It does indeed. I will be posting more info in a few hours (like... 8 hours...)

But inspirations of Slayers, and Exhaulted. Where heroes are larger than life and somewhat over the top in thier abilities.

Well, to be honest, I wasn't planning the game to start off quite there, more like heroes in training.. but you get the idea.

Does that help?

I'd be interested, depending, of course, on the details.

What i can say in brief is the races are all based on my own designs (besides humans of course), each possessing a specific special racial ability to define the race. The system of magic is unlike anything in mainstream media. And the general setting itself is colorful and full of possabilities.

You must be a salesman. That was the vaguest answer, yet I feel decidedly drawn in. :D

The characters in Slayers really aren't "larger than life": they're still pretty normal (if quirky), it's just their abilities that are high-powered.

You've mentioned two different sources here. In terms of seriousness which is your idea closer to?

I'd prefer Exalted, personally, but it sounds like the setting is pretty well ironed out already.

I assume you mean the tone of the game. All things said, settings can vary in tone based on the players themseves. I prefer something semi serious that doesn't take itself too seriously.. if that makes sense. Kind of like Bleach without the slapstick skits.

I've never seen Bleach, so I'll assume that by your description you mean light tone in a serious setting?
