Panphobia (Slender Man game) [Interest]

Postby XeroKhan » Mon Oct 08, 2012 8:43 pm

I have been researching Slenderman earlier this year when I thought it would be fun to play a Slender-based M&M game. I am searching for players and possibly a more experienced GM to host this. I would GM if no other GM's pick up this mantle, but I like to be a player in this. Anyone else up to this horror-survival?

Which of the many many interpretations of the Slenderman mythos?

I was thinking of a mash-up of the more famous ones like "Marble Hornets" and "EverymanHYBRID" to name a couple. Also adding in the locations of the Slender indie games out. Essentially, a crossover of all the famed Slender mythos.

I have no idea what Slender is, but given the season I think some kind of survival horror (haunted house, zombie apocalypse, etc.) one-shot could be cool. Something that would recruit and run within a couple of weeks, just in time for Halloween.

I would run it myself, but I'm in the middle of recruitment for Legacy of War and I really want to focus on that as a GM.

(Sorry if this hijacked your thread. It really was my intention of adding to the conversation, not to derail it.)

I've gotten into the habit of checking out posts of Gms ahead of time. I see that in the past you've stuck with only 2E. Is that still accurate?

If we're going with 3E, I might need to go back and re-research the Blue Lady mythos.

I prefer 2e, so you are correct, Spec.

Ryan, Slenderman (NOT Slender) is a figure recently created on a paranormal thread that I cannot remember the name to. Slenderman is a tall figure between 6 to 10 feet tall, pale as a ghost, NO facial features or hair, arms that are about as long as his body, and usually wears a black suit with a red or black tie. He is well known to stalk people and make them disappear without any trace left. In medieval times, Slenderman was called "Der Grossman" (as it would be pronounced). If anything, Slenderman is a modern monster with classic horror monster traits. (I've done ALOT of research into him.) He is the subject of many video series, while the most well known is "Marble Hornets." He even has a few indie games out where you must evade him and collect items while he stalks you.

So, a small adventure featuring Slenderman would be a great idea.

Ah. Well, as I only have 3e, I reckon I would be limited to reading the thread.

Sadly, the same. Great idea, but concentrating on 3E.

Alright, I give. 3e is good with me. I have an app for 3e in my nook, so i'll reference it. I was thinking normal people against the Slenderman. That way, things will be more interesting.

Alright, I might as well GM this game.

Edition: 3e
PL: any PL between 1 to 6
PP: 150 (I feel VERY generous about the character creation)
NO POWERS OR DEVICES
Abilities will be 1:1 instead of 2:1

FREE EQUIPMENT: a Camera, a Cell Phone, an Audio Recorder, a Video Camera, a Flashlight

Also, it is preferred that you are Teenagers or Young Adults (16-24) so there is a reason for you to be hunted.

So, any interested in this?

I'm interested. I'm not very familiar with the Slender man mythos, but this sounds like it'll be fun.
