Cerulean
HP - 0
Condition - uninjured

The blue man nods as his outline blurs.

With his matrix diffused, he floats silently several feet behind and to the left of Lady Freedom.

He nods to Ran as he passes her, giving her an encouraging smile.

Amazonia
HP 1

Amazonia grabs Impact and lugs her over her shoulder, hopeing she stays knocked out until they can get her into police custody. She goes up to Rage and sizes him up before saying, "Hey, Machine Girl, would you like to help me carry this guy? Bass, can you watch them and blast them if they seem to be waking up? We can get them to the cops and then see what we can do to help the others."

Rage seemed to completely out cold. That blast caught him solidly in what can only be described as a glass jaw. When he went down, he went down HARD. Impact on the other hand was groaning, and only semi-conscious but unable to focus her will.

At the site where Lady Freedom and Cerulean were observing what Ran was pointing out they could see where there was a burning hunk of something embedded in the wall. It was a fire that seemed to burn without fuel, and it was hot enough to melt the stone of the wall. It was slowly sinking into the rock causing it to bubble and boil.

"I got it!
" Suddenly, the form of Crimson Sigil appears holding an old looking dagger. He glanced at Rage and Impact in custody shook his head and said, "We'll get our lawyers on it." then glancing over at the burning hole he added with a tone of admiration, "Kid's got talent. Runs in the family." Then just as quickly he disappeared.

Lady Freedom
HP: 0
Condition: Fatigued and pissed.

<Damn it! Does everyone in this group teleport?> Sarah couldn't afford to think about that now. Taking a deep breath, she grabs hold of the burning object and attempts to extract it from the hole.

Lady Freedom's hand seemed to pass through the ball of flame as if it were just that- the element of fire. Was that a set of eyes that seemed to wink back at her?

Amazonia managed to get Impact out to the officers in the MIST van where they slapped a pair of "suppression cuffs" on her. The MIST captain looked on the heroine with a mixture of gratitude and grudging respect. NOW that the danger was over the MIST team was moving into the building to secure the scene. Two were carrying an oversized set of cuffs like the ones they slapped onto Impact.

In the distance, it looked like several reporters were surging past the police lines to get the first footage of the fight.

Bass
HP: 0
COND: Fatigued

Bass looked relieved as Impact was in custody, Rage was out cold and being taken to the cuffs as well - the kids safe... not bad a start. Granted, Crimson Sigil had from the looks of it, just gotten away, but the Professionals had been the distraction for him, definitely. "Redline, stop showing off. Give us a hand with Rage."

He nodded to the older Machine Girl, it was time to lug his scaly ass off.

Redline
Hero Points: Zero.
Condition: Fatigued, and HEY! who's showing off?!?!

Redline, if you could do a super-speed search for possible survivors in the building, that would be great.

The Fire Marshal had already told Ran he and his crew had cleared the building while surveying the damage and the nature of the fire, so Redline didn't immediately respond to Freedom's request. Watching her and Cerulean descend into the super-heated concrete, he turned his attention to the barricades and the reporters.

The reporters were surging past the police, and the cops had enough amateurs running around their crime scene as it was so Redline moved in a blur over to the reporters. Zipping through the crowd, looking for the WNS team, and while zipping past the other reporters making sure their equipment was staying on the proper side of the police barricade. Sliding to a halt in front of Ms. Moses camera man, he cleared his throat and tried to look nonchalant.

"Looks like the situation is under control for the time being, so why don't we thank the heroes of the day, alright folks?" He threw Candice a quick wink before pointing towards the thirty or so firefighters, police officers, and MIST agents now securing the scene. "These guys are your heroes, so why don't we show them a little respect, and let them do their jobs. And by doing their jobs, I mean staying out of their crime scene. The attack by the Professionals has been stopped without loss of life. You'll get further information as the police conclude their investigation. Thanks Dolphin Bay!" Throwing a quick thumbs up to the cameras, he took hold of Candice's elbow and spoke quickly. "Off the record ok? Can we try to keep a reign on digging into those kids identities? If it gets out who they are, which kids are unaccounted for, people will try to guess their identity. That happens we could have the Professionals attack various kids thinking they are the guys who tried to stop them. I don't really think any of us want that do we?"

"Redline, stop showing off. Give us a hand with Rage."

"Gotta go Ms. Moses, but you've got your exclusive!" With that he zipped over to Bass, M.G. and the unconscious Rage. "What 'cha need, buddy?"

Cerulean
HP - 0
Condition - intrigued

Cerulean leans in closer to the ball of flame, seemingly unbothered by the heat.

"Hello. Are you sentient?

"I am Cerulean and this is Lady Freedom. Do you have a name?"

He doesn't seem to be aware that speaking to a fireball is in any way unusual...

Ran

Ran taps on the intercom system from out from near the firetrucks, "Do you see the source of the fire? Is it safe for the crew to approach?" With a small smile she begins to whistle the theme from Singing in the Rain, as she keeps the steady flow going.

As Lady Freedom and Cerulean studied the ball of fire, their Personal Condition Monitor buzzed at the throats of the whole team. Cauldwell's voice came over the ear piece, "What is the team sit-rep? I've got the regional commander of MIST on the line and she's not happy. Redline, good work with the press. Lady Freedom, Machine Girl, the mayor is very pleased with the Vanguard's performance so far."

Cerulean found that the ball seemed to have no true intelligence. When spoken to, the eyes seemed to blink, but show no comprehension. However, it seemed to be a fire that was burning without a fuel source. Whether it can burn without oxygen is still unknown. It seemed to be a pure expression of an elemental force without malice, but it simply is. As it sat in the hole in the wall, the stone around it slowly continued to melt.

As Bass, and the others got the rest of the site under control, the police, fire, and MIST units began moving through the museum to find out who was injured, what if anything was missing or damaged. In the distance, Ms. Moses was grilling the Police Chief about what was going on.

Lady Freedom
HP: 0
Condition: Fatigued and pissed.

"Sir, the MIST commander is probably angry because three of the five perpetrators eluded capture and got away with a dagger of some sort. Physically the team is fine. We still have a situation here, though. There seems to be a ball of elemental fire that we can't do anything about and is continuing to set the city on fire. So the mayor may be pleased but I most definitely am not."

The voice of Cauldwell came back over the PCM with a single question, "What do you mean elemental ball of fire?"

Lady Freedom
HP: 0

Sarah sighs. "Sir, there is a ball of flame that is setting fire to the city. It is impervious to water and it is intangible, so we cannot grab it. And it has eyes. We have attempted to communicate with it, to no avail. So thus far, I grade our mission at 33% success."

Cauldwell's voice came back again, "This is very important. One of the kids in that fight was a mage. Evidently he has access to some spells of which his teachers at his school were unaware. This sounds like elemental fire. My source tell me that the only way to get rid of it is to either smother it with elemental water, cut off its oxygen supply, or open a dimensional rift to the elemental plane of fire and send it back. Otherwise it's going to keep burning for at least a hundred years."

Machine Girl
HP: 1
Condition: A little bruised (and dusty), but fine otherwise

Machine Girl had followed Amazonia out into the street, Rage slung over one of her shoulders like a sack of potatoes (albeit a sack of potatoes almost twice as big as she was), and had handed the reptilian mutant over to the MIST agents there as soon as they were done dealing with Impact. She’d seemed content to let Cerulean, Ran and Lady Freedom deal with the fire situation at first, but as Freedom’s aggravation became increasingly evident the cybernetic beauty had finally taken an interest in the situation, and had already begun to move in their direction before Cauldwell first addressed them over the PCM.

As soon as Lady Freedom had finished her remarks about the team’s percentage of success, Machine Girl’s voice, acerbic tone and all, cut into the conversation, “Freedom, calm down and stop being so negative – that’s my job. Cauldwell’s right, as a whole we did good today. Speaking of which", she added, addressing Cauldwell, "give the mayor our thanks, sir.

By that point she had nearly reached the ‘elemental ball of fire’ and the heroes gathered around it; still speaking over the PCM she addressed the team as a whole, “If anybody’s got an idea on how to cut off that thing’s oxygen supply, don’t be bashful – speak up.” Then, addressing the team’s water- and energy-controllers, Lee called out, “ Cerulean! I don’t suppose your powers are precise enough to form some sort of airtight shell around this thing? What about you, Ran? Is it too much to hope you’ve got some ‘elemental water’ stashed away that you could lend us? Or that you know someone who does?
