As you wait for the newcomer's response, Karen's quick action easily contains the two initial invaders. Lincoln looks confused, but as there is no real heat as such to leech from the containment field, there is not much she can do.

Lincoln's attention is momentarily focused on Amazon, as if perhaps having a conversation that none of you can hear, and then she turns her gaze to Karen as the patriotic heroine adjusts her own concentration.

The newcomer stares at you, a bemused look on his face, not responding for the moment.

@Amazon, in the wake of my PM, Karen's containment field and the fact that she is addressing Beetle, does Amazon release her lariat's grip from Lincoln?

@AllI PMed Metool2 to see if he is still with us. I will wait until tomorrow and then move us forward.

As his webs snared Cythonna, Spider jumped ahead to join Cyborg in giving the woman a beating. As he brought his feet down for a hard stomp, however, she spoke what Spider assumed to be a magic word and vanished from sight. He stood on the spot for a moment, bewildered. "Oh great," he sighed.

Upon turning around, the Augment saw that the rest of the group was now dealing with the arrival of an unusual newcomer,trying to determine whether he was a friend or foe. Spider approached them hesitantly, uncomfortable with giving a suggestion to the adults. "Um, hey, I know we got big problems right now, like this guy's fashion sense, for starters," he nods towards Ambush Beetle, "but that other lady just magic'd her way out of here. Shouldn't we make sure she isn't still in the city or something?"

Did Cythonna leave her staff when she dropped it, or did that teleport with her?

It's cold.

But that's a good thing. If the Anchors are functionning properly, then the threat is over.... For now.

Karen is immediately aware that the building is coming back on-line. Security forces are pouring into the building. Karen's swarm and connection to the building brings her instant knowledge of what's going on, makes her aware as each server and elevator comes back on-line and, should she desire, she knows exactly who is still encased in ice...

"Hey! Easy does it! The still-viking-ish person puts his hands up, waving frantically. "Did we win?! He follows the instructions given to him, clearly not wanting to get shot, slammed or otherwise be on the receiving end of the group's ire.

Soon enough, support personnel are pouring into the area and proper restraints are brought out for Lincoln.

It isn't long before you realize that the one calling the shots and directing the SP and support personnel is none other than Colonel Kent...

Cythonna's staff remained.

Karen Sighed with Relief as Starrware came back to life. The incursion, small as it was, seemed to be defeated. Security Personnel pour in. Karen was quick to start providing instructions, directing her staff to clear the area, and sending medical teams out to help anyone still on ice. Following that, Karen approached the Staff which Spide had grabbed off of the invader. "Lets get this under lock and Key for now, see what we can pull off it once things have cooled down."

Trying to maintain eye contact, Amazon suggests "maybe don't actually handle that. I don't suppose we have anyone on staff who you could describe as an expert on magic?"

Turning back to Skulled, Diana pulls out her cyber-coil. "I think I have a better shot at doing some mind reading while this one is unconscious. Give me a minute." Releasing the end of the rope, it slithers down to wrap itself around Skulled's chest.

Rebis waited until it was absolutely clear that Lincoln was under control before releasing hir concentration on the hastily assembled cold nullification device. But s/he quickly removed it from hir arm and handed the device to one of the Starrware security staff when Kent arrived. Is pride in order for helping to stop the incursion; or concern for displaying such dangerous adaptability? S/he settled for giving the colonel a salute and then striving to get lost amongst the post-incident chaos.

Kent's men are about to intervene as American Amazon moves towards the prisoner, but fallback as the members of SCU-1 (Kent's Lieutenants) order them to stand down. Kent moves forward himself, but stops alongside Starr.

"Your assessment?" He asks her while keeping his gaze on the prisoner.

Beetle is left little choice but to stand down himself while the remaining members of the first respondents look on.

Amazon's coils encircle the skull faced woman and a flood of images wash towards the patriotically clad soldier.

It begins with images that would almost be expected... a skull-like drawbridge on a massive castle, the woman that had been addressed as Cythonna looking on as Skulld assaults said castle. The imagery pans back, revealing a frozen wasteland - the icy white plains of the tundra stretching as far as the eye can see.

From the ground, a city erupts. It's the domed city of Metropolis. Starrware Tower is the only defined building, with Lexcorps Tower being more discernible than the rest of the skyline. In the distance of Skulld's memories of the shielded city the ruins of Lost Angels is likewise hazy and ill-defined, save for one building.

Lincoln features as well, her icy features and body a weird and almost inhuman shape - a key Amazon realizes. In the shield above Starrware is a keyhole...

Delgado, one of Kent's Lieutenants approaches Rebis. "Impressive work."

With a slither Amazon's cyber-coil retracts from about Skulled's body. There is a brief hum as Diana's visor raises up into her coronet.

"I was right, while she's unconscious her mind is an open book. Unfortunately it's a little unfocused. I'm not really sure what I'm seeing, and I might not have the right knowledge base to understand what I'm seeing." Diana pauses her narrative to salute Colonel Kent. Since she has the floor, and people seem interested in her information, she continues. "What I did see, was that the two interlopers -Skulled and Cythona, have a magical world view. Lincoln is some sort of key, possibly in a literal sense, and the door seems to be in the sky above Starr Tower. I am not sure if this is a literal or figurative door."

"My speculation is that the mechanism is to trigger the barrier between their world and ours. I do not know if we can use Lincoln to open the barrier, or to close it permanently. Again, I think we need to consult an expert in metaphysics." With that, Major Prince drops into an "at ease" stance, which tends to look very military.

Attempting to copy the Major's professionalism, Spider gave a quick salute. Rubbing the back of his neck, he said, "Did your... psychic coil... see anything about this guy?" He pointed over to Beetle. "I don't know, if Lincoln is the Keymaster, maybe he's the Gatekeeper?"

The statuesque agent shakes her head. "Negative. I believe he is... a meat popsicle."

It's entirely possible that Amazon might, actually, have something resembling a sense of humour. She not-so-subtly places a hand back on her cyber-coil. "Orders sir?" she asks of Col. Kent.

"At ease." Kent says to Amazon, even though she has already assumed that stance.

"This one," Kent gestures to Beetle, "is an enigma we've been tracking since the last incursion..." The last incursion, of course, was the one that saw the fall of Lost Angels. Kent's face clouds for a moment with the memory - he obviously takes it as a personal failure.

"He remained when the incursion was repelled and made his way towards Metropolis. We've been monitoring him, but his actions to date have not classified him as hostile."

Kent turns to one his subordinates who had been taking note of Amazon's description of Skulld's mind. The ringed planet on his breast indicates the Psi Division of the Science Police.

"I concur with the major's assessment." He says, and Amazon is aware that the officer is trying to not glance in her direction. "The only thing that my own scan seems to noticed that the Major did not is that three buildings were clearly defined in 'Skulld's' mind - Lexcorps, Starrware and the remains of Lost Angels' Star Labs..."

Kent nods, looking over the assembled team.

"Interesting." Kent nods, looking over the assembled group. "This should come as no surprise. The Science Police and the Augment Program intended for you all to work together. Otherwise you would not have been on standby, leave or patrolling the same area.

"Having said that, I had wanted to bring you all in for a debriefing. It looks like that will have to wait.

"Lexcorps Tower will require diplomacy to enter, and I am certain that Ms Starr will be open to allowing and aiding in a security sweep of the building.

"That leaves Star Labs."

He looks over the group again, pausing at Rebis for a moment longer than most, and Beetle a just a little less than that. Whatever he is thinking is interrupted by the Psi Officer.

"It was suggested to lock down the staff that was seized." He says, gesturing the device that Spider was looking over a moment ago. "I believe that the device may actually be required to solve this matter and it would be better guarded in this team's hands."

"Are you certain?" Kent is clearly puzzled by the suggestion - the security risk is large... but his resolve to trust a subordinate who has clearly earned that trust wins over. "Very well.

"Be aware, I will never order a team into Lost Angels." He stops this time to lock eyes in turn with Cyclops and Cyborg longer than the others. "But I need this investigated and this group is the team that I was bringing together to defend the city in just such circumstances.

"Therefore, I ask of you. Will you investigate Star Labs' remains in Lost Angels?"

"Therefore, I ask of you. Will you investigate Star Labs' remains in Lost Angels?"

Rogers looked up into Kent's blue eyes before snapping out a salute. "Hooah!"

Turning on his heels, Summers looked over the assembled personnel. "Colonel's right, this ain't no joke. We've been running scared since the paradigm's shifted, since the shields came up. What we've got here is an opportunity, a chance to take back what's ours, and lead the angels home."

Summers looked directly at Vic, then let his gaze pan over their faces. The Major, tough, reliable, and gets the job done, Rebis, creative, intelligent, and out to prove something, maybe even to themselves, Ms. Starr, another reliable woman, though her motives were necessarily murky at times, the Spider a capable scout, quick, and full of energy, and finally Vic. Summers smiled as he spoke. "The Colonel won't speak for you, and neither will I. But any of you who'd do me the honor of joining me as we roll into the Angels, I'll lay down my life to make sure you come back home."

Cyborg looks and the leaders, his one sided facial expression hard to read: "If I may speak openly... we left some good men behind in Angels and I even left some parts of myself. I'm more than ready to show them what my new parts can do and give the papas a reason to fear us. Just don't ask me for diplomacy and I will be your man... or Cyborg!"
