Red Ranger
HP: 2
Status: Fine

Xerxes spoke quietly. "We... we need to approach very carefully. Not only do we need to try to sneak up on them, but they might have booby-trapped the halls they're not using." He laughed quietly. "So, who else is thrilled we're not going down into the sewers?"

OOC: I'm still largely out this week, so Xerxes will be uncharacteristically quiet. :)

American Patriot

"You didn't strike me as claustrophobic Ranger..." he said with a lopsided grin before he looked at the Woman in Black and Hex Mistress. "Ranger, I want you to stay as close to the ladies as you can, to provide for their security while they are distracted while using their abilities."

"Thunderer and I will be making as much a racket as we can," he said as he looked at Thunderer. "To draw them out and after us... we'll look for some booby-traps or security measures to trip and start raising hell when the Woman-in-Black let's us know you've gotten in close, and are hidden well enough to not draw any attention to yourselves. Once that crowd has gotten out of view, Woman-in-Black... I want you to help Warp teleport those kids to safety."

"Once the kids are out of there," he said grinning broadly. "Have Warp teleport all four of you back to where Thunderer and I are raising hell... I want you to take the high ground and act like snipers and artillery, picking off those asshats as quick as possible. Red Ranger... I want you to either have Warp drop you into the middle of the group, and use your martial artist to cut through those poor sinners like a hot knife through warm butter.... Or if able, to tag-team with Woman-in-Black to take out their leader."

Thunderer

Hank nodded at the plan, but paused and frowned slightly, "We still don't know exactly what we're facing there. Be ready for me to ignore the plan if our opposition is something wholly unexpected."

"One of the rules of standard combat... is that no plan survives inital contact with the opposition," American Patriot said grinning. "Special Ops... we did what we could to stay to the plan since everything was timed out... but of corse we trained out the ass prior to our missions in mock-ups of the environment."

"So this ain't no special ops mission," he said firmly. "So it means we have a basic idea of what we need to do, and then we all engage the enemy, and do what we can to keep the general idea of what we are wanting to do and do what ever we can to acieve it."

"Or at least, that should be our Standard Operating Proceedure..." he said with a shurg.

'We really need a team leader...' American Patriot thought grimly. 'Someone who can coordinate and use us to the best of our abilities... and keep a strategic vision of what's happening.'

The Woman In Black
HP: 0
Condition: Preptime

The mind numbing buzz was coming to a head. When Thunderer tried to speak to The Woman In Black mentally, her mind sounded like television static to him. I'm fine, she lied, Just a bit of interference. She went along with the mission going through the motions. When American Patriot spoke in her direction she nodded as if she acknowledged. And she did. The information was there. She was going to to it. Her mind though, wanted to rebel, drag the man to the ground and drain every last bit of his energy. She kept that suppressed in her subconscious. Thunderer, she thought, reaching out for his hand, Stay safe. She followed Red Ranger as she was told to do. Fighting through the mental static, she prepared herself mentally and physically for the fight that was about to happen

Warp
Danny Ward
HP: 3

Warp was too dumbstruck to do anything except hand the PDA over. If the situation wasn't so serious he'd have protested the decision... probably. There was something about Mrs. Cadbury that didn't really fit in the same sentence as 'arguing with'. So instead Warp took back the modified device and nodded, a serious expression on his face that was unusual for him. "I gotta get back. I'll port the hostages over as soon as Woman in Black can pinpoint 'em for me."

Reappearing back where he'd left the others, Warp looked around at his teammates. "Comms back to base are back online", he held up the modified PDA, "through this. Mrs. C's up to speed on the situation." And we've got a supervillain elbow deep in our tech. Warp bit back the last part, even though he felt uneasy about the new development to the situation.

He moved closer to Black, expecting her to guide him to the hostages when the time came. The small hint of concern on his face was hidden by his mask. Something seemed to be bothering her, although Danny had no idea what it was. She probably just had to push herself a little harder to 'hear' everyone in the building or something.

"Good... I take it that Mrs. C has gotten together the operations team in the commun centre," American Patriot said with a nod. "That's good to hear... from the rumor mill, she has been a really good judge of character and finding the best support people to have running the show behind the scenes."

He checked his comlink, and with the new PDA that Warp had been given... he was able to get through to the communications centre. "This is Team Actual to Team Main, Communs Check."

"This is Team Main to Team Actual... we hear you loud and clear," came back the robotic sounding voice. "The Alert has been sent, but resposne time is going to be long... you are going to be on your own for at the least thirty Team Actual. "

"Understood Team Main," American Patriot said grimly. "Team Actual out."

"We're on our own for at least thrity minutes boys and girls," he said grimly. "Let's move out."

He looked around at everyone and nodded before saying, "Keep frosty..." as everyone started to break and move into their needed positions for his plan to hopefully work.

Xerxes nodded and smiled slightly. Thank God he's just giving us a plan of action instead of a long speech or his life story. His smile wilted a bit as the talk went on to Special Ops, but it was brief. He winced a bit as he considered the implications of who he'd been assigned to guard.

He spoke quietly but firmly, "If Woman in Black and Hex-Mistress are alright with it, I'll watch them. Not singling them out for the sex, of course, but because their powers can leave them vulnerable to counter-attack." Inwardly, he reflected, I've seen Hex-Mistress in the midst of the park, throwing bolts and agilely dodging bits of thrown masonry at the same time. Woman-in-Black kept going her freaky mind mojo while we were being shot at. Hopefully, they buy my line of bull and don't catch onto the chauvinism in his speech.

He looked to the hallways. "I'm guessing that we're probably going into the floorplans blind due to the communications lag. How's your experience in spotting traps, American Patriot?"

Thunderer

Hank turned his head and took the Woman's hand, although he wasn't certain why she singled him out for the warning. You, too., he thought.
While Patriot outlined his plan and X asked for data, Hank took a quick walk around the area near his cab, picking up a couple of small broken pieces of pavement. Always nice to have something to pitch if things are too far away.

American Patriot nodded as his mind ran through all the possible strategies he could think of to draw attention to himself and Thunderer when Ranger asked him a question, "I'm pretty good at spoting them... but the point is for Thunderer and I to trip their alarms and get their atteion focused on us as you four get to those kids, provide defense as Warp gets them out of here to safety. Once the kids are out of danger... He's to bring you in to where Thunderer and I are making a mess of things."

"Both Hex Mistress and Woman-in-Black are artillery specialists that are at a great risk to close combatants," he said absently as he closed his eyes and started to visualize the area and allow his hearing to become more attuned and heightened. "If if had another close combat specialist, they'd be the escorts... and you'd be finding a means of finding out if there are any escape routes and cut them off."

"But that's not important right now," he said to himself. "We go to war with what we have... not what we want."

"I think there is soeone out here watching us..." he said opening his eyes and looking around. "I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched, and we don't have anyone to operate as a rearguard as we move in."

OOC: here's Crow's chance to show up and join in the party!

Xerxes acknowledged Patriot's backup on the explanation and spoke, "OK, so right-hand rule? Schools shouldn't be too much like mazes, but goodness only knows what these people might have done, especially if they have a Mystic on their staff. I mean, our Mystic will be better than theirs, of course," he smiled at Hex-Mistress with the last and squinted his eyes in affection.

"As for someone watching us... probably going to be happening and it's best we don't explain too much more of our plan in public, right? So, shall we bounce?"

Scarlet Crow
HP: 1
Status: In Pursuit

I have been pursuing leads for the past few days. People are disappearing left and right and no one seemed to notice. The homeless were 'someone else's problem'. That's were it falls to us 'street level heroes'. We're not saving the world, but we keep the dirty parts of the city a little less dirty.

When I get to the location provided to me, I see a group of costume-clads already casing the joint. Maybe they're the kidnappers? Maybe they're here on the same mission I am? I keep my distance. Trying to see what they're up to without causing a commotion. As I get closer, I notice it's Freedom's Avengers, a group of anti-heroes and one violent criminal. Great, I think, looks like I'm definitely going to have to keep my distance. I notice Summer Long is with them now. What's she doing with them, I think, maybe we'll talk about it later.

They begin to split up. I continue following the leader of the group, American Patriot, still at a safe distance.

Walking toward the hallways, Xerxes paused and cocked his head off to one side. Motorcycle... that sounded like it stopped nearby. And I'd swear that that door wasn't ajar a moment ago. Could be the wind, could be something else... After a moment, he shook his head.
"Now you've got me being paranoid, American Patriot," he said quietly, "But you're only paranoid if they're not out to get you, and we are facing hostiles." He set off at a fast lope, letting his suit boost his physical speed as he quickly scouted the halls ahead and then looped back to the girls.

Although frankly, I suspect we're mostly dealing with deluded citizens... I'm really hoping we can avoid violence or, if not, the team pulls their punches. Blows that can shatter steel shatter bones far too easily...

OOC: Notice: (1d20+12=24) is just shy of noticing Scarlet Crow, assuming he's Taking 10 on his Stealth. :) But I figure that's enough for narrative to indicate that there's a hint that someone's around, particularly with prior warning.

Xerxes will be Taking 10 on Notice while heading down the hall as per Skill Mastery for a value of 22, routing 3 pp from his Power Reserve into Speed (let's say 3 into Quickness and 1 each into Leaping and Immoveable just for argument's sake) to quickly scout down the hall.

Able Team (Hex Mistress, Red Ranger, Warp & Woman-in-Black)

As Red Ranger moved head, taking care not ot make noise and making sure that he was taking in everything as me moved forward in an effort to keep from tripping any booby-traps or early warning devices. His caution paid off... he noticed several low-tech triplines attached to cans and noise makers, that was meant to draw attentiion away from a high-tech motion detector that was linked to what was definately active secrurity cameras!

But fortunately, there was a blindspot that could be exploited to move forward without the cameras or detectors to alert whom ever was watching the sensors as long as the four of them hugged the wall or stayed really low to the floor as they moved forward underneath the sweeping cameras.

Bravo Team (American Patriot, Thunderer & Scarlet Crow)

American Patriot's trained eyes kept moving around, taking in their way through the halls... it wasn't hard for him to notice both the tripwires and motion detectors. "These people are good..." he muttered softly as he looked at Thunderer, and pointed out the trip wires and the cameras. "They have low-tech traps to keep you from noticing the high-tech security systems. Which makes me wonder if they have any laser tripwires."

'Woman in Black... if you can hear me,' he thought concentrating on the team's psychic. 'They are using blantant low-tech traps to distract from the high-tech systems... it's possible that the ventilation system has laser tripwires...'

He looked up and studied the ventilation system and grinnned, "Yup, the ventilation system is acutally big enough for a smaller person to craw through them... how much do you want to bet that they've got the lasers in there?"

"Makes me wish we had a basket ball or remote controlled car to send down through them just to trip the damn things and make them think we're trying to sneak in through the vents..." he said thoughfully.

'I can not confirm lasers in the vents...' he sent to the Woman-in-Black. 'but it's better to act as if they do, just to be on the safe side... please let us know if anyone on Able Team notices anything that Bravo Team should know as well.'
