One of them is undeniably Cthulhu, who was once beat back to his home dimension by the original Guardians.

Valkyrie sees that the cell is filling with the grey smoke, but little else.

The latter. Trissa can infer that these are all Outsiders, though there are myriads more. And Morticus certainly does not have the power to invoke them himself.
