3e: Earth-47: The New Guardians reboot (OOC)

My first New Guardians game was also the first I ran here on ATT. And, while I am satisfied with the general run, i made some really bad calls and rookie mistakes leading the game to disintegrate slowly. But I still love the setting I have created - which is far from complete, I know, but still - and the idea. So i am rebooting this.


Basic premise is this:
Most of the world's mightiest heroes have been destroyed by their Archnemesis, Doctor Destroyer (lifted from Champions and tweaked a little). Since fewer heroes would mean the world being up for grabs, the UN, in a rather desperate and hasty move, has started a campaign to recruit as many of the remaining powerful superbeings as they can to revive the original group The Guardians (a JL-analogue).
The players will be these new heroes.
You will act as the world's premier hero team, acting with official mandate (for now), defending Earth from threats alien, supernatural and supervillainous.
Details, as stated, can be seen in my aforementioned thread (though the New Guardians chapter there does not apply here, it simply reflects the chars in my Pen&Paper group). Any questions, feel free to ask, the setting is still in development.
I am looking for 5 or 6 PL 10 characters (160 pp). No continuously-angry loners please (Wolverine, looking at you!). The chars must be able to work as a team.

Playstyle will depend on your preferences as much as mine. If you want a JL-type of game where heroes act according to certain standards etc., sure. If you want to stray more in the direction of The Authority and try to right the world by your own hands (even if they get dirty sometimes), sure...i just need to know that beforehand. I like both, lighter and grittier.

As aforesaid, I'll be bringing back Arcanaut, an older scientist in his techno-magical power armor. And I am still willing to go in either plotwise direction. :)

Background

Given the scientific basis for the way magic works, it was only natural that companies and governments would seek to utilize the opportunities opened up by the emerging 'arcane' market. Don Ferdinand was a scientist in a small but successful 'techo-magic' research firm, working on the plum contract of a fully integrated magic-channeling battlesuit for the US government. Unfortunately, financial irregularities committed by the CEO trashed everything, and the company folded. Having developed doubts about the ethical use of his pet project, Don had no qualms with this- nor disassembling the Arcanic Conduit Combat Suit and hiding the data and pieces as well.

Yet, when the news of the Battle of Manhattan broke and the call came out for heroes to help, Don could not deny that the powers of the ACCS were too potent to not use. He went to work rebuilding the ACCS and prepared to put it through good use.

I'll get a background written as soon as i read the setting

Orphaned by the destoryer war in ninities Stuart was raised by his aunt and uncle in St.Louis in which he lead a relatively normal life. Until 3 years ago when a small dimensional terminus rift opened in downtown and a thralls and servitors of the outsiders spilled came through. By a twist of fate Stuart was at the epicentre of the rift and its extra dimensional unlocked Stuarts lantent meta human powers with strength and toughness and after the initial shock he held off the drones and the Eldrich could arrive to seal the rift.

This was Stuarts very public first appearance, shortly afterwards Stuart was approached by Lucy Moon, a p.r. executive who specialised in raising and maintaining profile of actors, apparently he'd saved her life at one point of the incursion and she wanted to help him, with his powers and her networking and marketing skills Stuart could be the next big hero and make a fortune doing it. Stuart accepted.

Since then Stuart has be operating under the name Awesome and has developed a reputation of been a bit of glory hound and sell out in superhero circles.
