Gretchen gives a toothy grin while Sword Breaker pats him on the head.

"Better make it a barrel then." Kevin replies evenly indicating the little goblin"Hes the reason Im free, he rescued me from Vipers clutches, and helped me get back here to help you guys."

Bumping for Green Lantern and Hornet to respond before moving on.

“I’ll chip in on that barrel.” Hornet said as he buzzed around his formerly missing teammate. “Now I take it you‘ve learned your lesson right? No more sneaking off on solo adventures without written permission from a teammate, ok? We tend to worry when we don‘t hear from you.”

"So that'd be Swordbreaker then." Chris commented to nobody in particular as the VIPER mech fell over, again. "Any more Vipers to deal with? Or trolls? Time to call in the clean up crew?"

The reunion is short and as it turns out Bittersweet. Filled with both triumphant moments such as the return of Sword Breaker, and the capture of the Viper agents most especially Dr. Vega who thanks to some persuasion has begun to sing like the proverbial Canary.

Also with Gls help the Trolls have been rounded up and taken into custody. Doc Rodent has been exceptionally busy with the massive operation to study and cure the many afflcited Trollkin and Godvords. The results ahve been promising with many of them including Sword Breakers Girlfriend Allison's little brother among the cured.

And the team of Trolls sent to dump the barrels of Dyne mutate fluid into the Cities water supply were stopped by the Mysterious Enigma who showed up before they arrived and took the entire team out. The Dyne was destroyed and Dyne production has for the msot part been halted in the West.

Unfortunately with the victory must come some disappointment. Sword Breaker thanked everyone but had to resign for several reasons he gave chiefest among them was that he was recalled by Primus via the Army and is now an active agent in their ranks.

Wanderer and Gator also said goodbye to everyone thanking them for their help and assuring the team of allies in the underground if they should ever need them.

Wanderer even promised that she would take Gretchen under her wing and protect the little Goblin who had proven himself in her eyes by leading her to the enslaved homeless popluation she was protecting with Gators help.

Still life goes on as proven when Kris and GL who had been sharing furtive glances with each other all night used the excuse that her power ring was running low on power to shimmer out of their and away for a day or so, and Hornet and Shock and Goliath were buys for the next 2 days helping to clean up the udnerground mess with the newely arrived back up teams.

All in all a successful venture with no casualties and everyone having made the city safer.

For now.

Bay City, one week later


In the wake of the Troll incendent you've found yourself as busy as ever. It seems your work load at home and at Oracle has doubled and left you about as frazzled as your poor armor was after the fight with Atta. Not to mention that last night and for the preceding 5 nights you've has the pain or pleasure-- your still mulling it over--of dealing with an armored figure calling herself Firefly. A corporate raider with a seeming dislike of the offices of the Brand Corproration. And a penchant for technical sabotage that you can admire from a technincal and scientific standpoint.

You're not quite sure Firefly's a girl mind you, given the armor she wears is pitch black with bright yellow trim and helmet and a bit vague on the body shape and the voice is altered electronically.

All you do know is she is FAST! blazingly fast and an insane flyer, taking ridiculous risks with--what you imagine--to be a gleam in her eye and a laugh on her lips.

Also those Blasters of her HURT!!. A lot. Ooooooow.

And thus we find you in your current predicament which is sitting in the Bases medical center while Doctor Hank looks you over. his professional but easy going nature putting you at ease, as youve found it natural to take your helmet off around him without even batting an eye lash.

At least you did untill he stuck you with that needle right there OOOOOW!!

"Sorry about that Kirk." he says easilly "Had to make sure that went into the meat, you have some more circuit burns here.." he indicates by 'gently' prodding the area hes just put a cold patch on, "..and this is a pair of bruised ribs." he indicates the area hes now bandaging tightly.

"So please explain to me again.how in the world did this firefly trick you into flying into a wrecking ball?"

Shock youve also found yourself busy as well. Primarily you've been dodging Lt Cabe. Not something people do when they wnat a long and healthy life.

Still something about these Guardians she asked you to look into has had you interested enough to stick around with them. What suprised you was the greeting the support staff at their base gave you.

it wad warm and friendly and open and not in anyways suprised as if theuy had been expecting you all along. You were given the tour and got aquainted with the Lab where you found an imrpessive foresnsics section that made you feel right at home.

For the moment you've found yourself helping the team out which includes looking into a case of your own mainly a series of break ins of various jewelry stores. So far the suspects been very careful until last night where an employee working late suprised him and was nearly electrocuted by the Unsub.

This is where you find yourself looking over the scene as the police look on, having been asked to consult.

A roll to seek clues if you please and we begin Shocks adventure.

Green Lantern and Kris

Recent events seem to have shaken your relationship a bit. Not any big things but some smaller things. GLs had a busy week with Dr Tolliver leaving the group due to a family illness and some other personal issues, and with the Guardians seeming to call Ashley to Oa every other hour for one bit of Corps business or another.

Add into that, the fact that Kris has seemed distant as of late to Ashley as if he were hiding something or at least trying to. Even the Ring has been somewhat wary around the Infernal mage lately, almost as if it were thinking of warnign Ashley about him but deciding against it.

For Kris the last week has been near hell. The recent Troll incedent seemed to in some fashion give " the other" some more elbow room inside Kris's "Soul, mind' etc". That elbow room has meant that you can no longer ignore the voice as a figment of your imagination. Its one thing when it was just a thought or two, some urges, or the like.

But when it actualy starts answering you or giving unwarranted or unsolicited commentary--you dont want to think about what it was saying about Ashley in that dress when you were at that awards dinner a night or so ago-- its somethign serious.

Add in the frustration that you seem lately to be one step behind your Jackal headed friend, who almost seems to be taunting you as he goes about his dark business leaving nothing behind for you save death draps and groups of deluded cultists who think that hes going to give them immortality.

This has left you irritable and at the best of times out right unpleasant at others.

And thus we come to the current scenario which is the two of you attempting to research Anubis further while Ashley considers broaching the subject of Dr. Arcane whom Aleta suggested she go see some time ago before the Troll business got in the way.

"WORTHLESS DRECK!" Kris exclaims as he sends another book flying across the library to crash against the wall.

Worthless, incompetent authors trying to show off the miniscule amounts of knowlege they have on a subject by padding the word count and overblowing the importance by a dimension or two.

He took a deep breath to calm himself. This Anubis punk was really getting on his nerves, so much so that at times he couldn't tell where the thoughts were coming from.

Several deep breaths later, and no calmer, Kris decides to take a break and get something to eat. Take a walk through the garden. Maybe that would calm him down.

HAH! he thought.

Well, somebody did.

Chris had to keep himself from smiling while he looked over the scene. It was nice to finally have a potential break in the case. It was also interesting that the danger to the worker was electricity. It probably meant there was more to it than a couple guys doing a break-in.

As you sift through the debris, mostly smashed glass in this case you catch a break in that you find 3 clues of relevance. namely a bit of black leather from a glove which has some blood on it. Appareantly the perp cut his hand punching through the glass cases which given their conditions he did with relative ease.

Second; you find a distinct shoe print with some dirt on it, and lastly you can see that this perp wasnt too particular about what he stole namely smash and grabbing anything shiney in his reach. The stores security cameras are unfortunately not much help, all they show is a hooded figure in black who points his hand and then shorts out the entire system somehow.

The there is a 4th clue in the injured shop manager. As she was closing up she was attacked by the perp who she suprised. Her injuries are enitely consistent with a discharge of high voltage elctricty. She was fortunate to be wearing rubber soled sneakers as she was leaving work to go to the gym or her injuries would have been fatal.

Youll need some time in the lab to analyze the clues but your confident youve gotten a good start.

Search roll was all you needed and it was more thne successful.

Kirk smirks somewhat as his cheeks turn a light shade of red. “Well that’s kind of a long story really, lets just say that Firefly likes to go fast. Really, really, really fast and I have to push my flight pack to keep up. The problem is I’m not used to those kinds of speeds and I’ve had some close calls chasing her, trust me the wrecking ball was my better option at the time.”

"Well in the future I suggest avoiding wrecking balls, and seeing about a way to get ahead of her instead of trying to catch up to her." Dr. Hank smiles good naturedly just as Jean Phillipe makes an appearance as quiet as a ghost.

Hank looks up and sees the erstwhile head of household and nods in his direction as Jean Phillipe announces his presense in that oh so subtle manner of his. "And how is he Doctor?"

"Hes fine Jean Phillipe, a little rough around the edges but fit for duty." Dr. Hank says while cleaning up the tools hes been working on you with.

"Fine news then." Jean Phillipe replies in that soothing voice with that ever so slight french accent "Sir the young lady awaits your company."
