Singularity (Vincent Irons)
HP: 3
Cnd: Healthy
Location: Warehouse

"Sounds like that 'bot that duplicated our powers when we were at that meta-prison.. "

He paused in his observations and looked over at Impact when the man spoke up. A gloved hand raises to halt Wraith, if he had decided to follow up on Flux's suggestion. Maybe Impact would remember something that would make the effort of a ritual moot.

"Familiar, how? Does it involve Graft?"

Graft
HP: 1 Cnd: Dijon Vu

The construct leaped out of his hiding-place in the rafters, bringing the stun baton down with both hands.

Init, Stealth (1d20+10=13, 1d20+14=28). Power Attack 5 (1d20+15-5=30)... So that's a +10 to whatever the DC on the Stun Baton is?

Graft

You catch your target completely by surprise and the taser makes contact right at a neural plexus, causing him to spasm uncontrollably.

He is stunned and you have Init.

Graft
HP: 1 Cnd: Dijon Vu

Seeing his target vulnerable, Op-452 spun into a perfectly executed high kick aimed at the side of his target's head.

Power Attack 5 (1d20+10=30), DC 32 Toughness? What the heck IC?

Graft

Your kick knocks your target across the room. His head slams into a steel support beam knocking him clean out.

As you approach to finish the job, his body emanates a blast of kinetic force that sends you flying across the room and knocks you out.

******

Dr Death looks confused.

"That's impossible. A false memory is covering up the anomaly."

Warehouse

"Yeah," he says walking over to a wall. He places his hand on a small stain on one of the support beams.

"This is where I met Graft... and where he almost killed me."

He pauses as he is clearly remembering their first encounter.

"He came out of nowhere. Hit me with a stun baton and then nearly took my head off. Somehow, I managed to get a kinetic blast off because when I woke up he was unconscious over there."

"He hadn't said a word, but Dr Death's fingerprints were all over this. So I took him to a friend to see if he could access his memory files to tell me where the good Doctor was hiding."

Graft
HP: 1 Cnd: Dijon Vu

The concept of some of his memories being false was almost as unsettling as the experience of getting hacked. Graft found himself looking to his creator for help despite himself.

"Which part exactly? Can you find out what really happened?"

Graft

"Perhaps, but it would be a painful process. That blast is definitely a false memory, however."

He pauses a bit. "The troubling thing about this, Graft, is that your neural network is wired in such a way that if somebody tampers with your memories, a cascade failure will crash your entire AI matrix."

There is another pause.

"Unless they had your permission."

He looks at you, and you think he is actually waiting for your permission to proceed.

Graft
HP: 1 Cnd: Denzel Washington

Graft looked at his creator with no small amount of confusion. "So you think I gave my permissino for someone to rewrite my memories? I can't imagine anyone I trusted like that at the time except for you."

"I trust you know that should you try to do anything more than study the altered memories, my friends will hunt you down, regardless of which planet or dimension you hide in." The construct nodded slowly to the scientist. "But you have my permission to proceed and try to find out the truth behind the false memory."

Graft

He smiles at your threat. "Your friends are not why I have not tried to reprogram you."

He makes some adjustments. "I need to let the memory file run."

Warehouse

"I took him to the lab..."

******

"Are you kidding? Bringing one of Double-D's toys here?" Tessearct says. He is a thin man wearing a black jumpsuit. He has tools and gadgets sticking out of every pocket of it.

"Look, this thing nearly killed me. I need to find Dr Death and stop him. He only make pre-emptive strikes when he has super bad stuff in the works.

Tessearct lets out a heavy sigh. "Put him on the table."

Impact complies and lays him down on the table. He then collapses into a nearby chair and holds his head.

"Rough day?" Tessearct asks as he starts to examine the body.

"Which part of 'nearly killed me' gave it away?"

Tesseract points to a fridge. "Ice pack on the top shelf."

Impact staggers over and open the fridge. He pulls out several pieces of electronics like its not even a little strange, pulls out the ice pack and then places everything back in.

All

Graft wakes up to hear two men talking.

"Looks like he grafted together three different AI systems here."

"So he grafted human parts and computer parts?"

"Metahuman."

"Seriously?"

When Graft opens his eyes, everything looks strange. There are two men in the room. One, he was supposed to kill.

But he doesn't think he should.

This part is being told by Impact as well as being relived by Graft, so everyone knows the info but obviously, only Graft can interact.

Graft
HP: 1

The construct opened it's eyes, his eyes adjusting to the lighting as he took in the scene before him. "Where am I? /Current location unknown."

He moved sluggishly, as if two different minds warred for everyone movement of its body. "You are /my target, designated/ Impact."

He looked at its hand, the conflicting thoughts evident on the stitched-together face. "Who am I? What am I? /This unit designated Op-452."

All

Both of them turn and look at you. Impact looks like he is about to blast you when suddenly his friend puts his hands in the way to stop him.

"Hello. My name is Tesseract. I think I have a better question for you. Who do you want to be?"

Impact looks at him. "What is going on?"

"Trust me on this. I am very familiar with a sentient program in its first moments of life."

"Sentient?" He drops his hands. "Really?"

Dash
Condition: Normal / HP: 1 / Free Surge: 1

"Wow," Dash murmurs quietly. "I never knew Graft had that kinda history."

Then again, how long has she known the Guardians? A week, tops? Stories like that don't come out so soon.

"So Graft decided he'd become a hero?"
