Myron Frost

Hidden from mortal eye, Myron is aware of what is going on in the bar, but is not paying undo attention to it. His primary goal is keeping his massive familiar from knocking over or crushing anything.

This is not the time to argue with the tavern-keep over livestock...

Russ

"Huh? Hm, I guess so." Russ was only half paying attention to what Owen was saying. He gave a tip of an imaginary hat to the pretty lady as he passed her by. The gambler couldn't help humming under his breath as he gently nudged his dinh in the direction of the exit.

GM Post:

The ka-tet exits onto the sidewalk in something of a hurry, hoping not to attract too much attention toward Hemingway or Myron's Brass Machine. Agent Klein waits in a black SUV in front of the bar. He keeps watch over traffic and the buildings nearby, trying to make sure that no one attempts to spoil the mission to extract the walk-ins. "We happy?" he asks Brian.

Jhondak
HP: 5

Outside, Jhondak was stunned by the noise and speed of the traffic going by. The machines were far greater in number and moving significantly faster than the heaps that Bron had put together for the battle at Camelot. He rocked back on his heels and stared at the vehicles moving by. "Is this normal for this world?"

Russ pipes up from behind Brian. "We're just peachy. Let's burn some rubber Kleiner." The gambler motioned for the rest of the ka-tet to get in the SUV. "Cars here are probably more common than horses are where you're from Jhondak. Everyone's got one an' they think they need to be somewhere else right now. Then again, I'm a big city kid at heart so I'm used to the noise more than the lack of it."

"You guys get in..." Brian went over and opened up the SUV trunk, it was full-sized and he guessed would be able to hold the Brass Engine's weight. "The invisible steampunk robot's gotta fit in here."

Myron Frost

At first Myron had been keeping himself and his minion as close to the wall of the White Friar as possible, to prevent a random pedestrian from walking into the invisible machine. Myron himself was busy staring at the automobiles hurtling past. The wrecks Bron had recovered were a far cry from these fleet, colourful beasts.

After a moment, he realizes Brian is talking to him, and he brings the Brass Engine across to the hatch. The back of the SUV sinks as he coaxes his metal pet into the back. Eventually the machine shifts into a shape that fits into the trunk -essentially a box shape. Once Myron takes his hands from the Engine, it appears in the trunk. Two big lamp-light eyes contemplate Brian from the rough center of the mass.

Myron himself does not appear until after he has slipped into the backseat next to Russ. "That appears to have been successful." In the back of the heavily burdened vehicle, the lamp light eyes shift again, until they are hovering over Myron's shoulder.

GM Post:

As the ka-tet climbs in the SUV and begins driving towards the Tet building, a figure leans up against his antique car a block away. He smiles and then flicks his cigarette at the next woman to walk by carrying a child. She screams at him as she shields her baby from the tiny flaming projectile. "YOU MONSTER!" He laughs, revealing inhuman teeth beneath his flesh mask. "Lady, you don't know the half of it..."

As he approaches the door, he runs his hand along the curves of the car. The vehicle starts itself and revs up in appreciation of his touch, the engine purring like a cat. The low man hops in behind the steering wheel and focuses on the SUV. The woman continues screaming at the man, asking pedestrians to call the police. Tiring of her, the low man pulls an over-sized revolver out of his mustard coat and shoots the baby in her arms, causing a spray of blood onto those who gathered to see what the commotion was. Pierced by the same bullet that killed her infant, the woman collapses onto the sidewalk. Ignoring the panic from the horrified onlookers, Brando Capone throws his car into gear and begins following after the SUV. His thoughts return to one of the figures he watched climb into the SUV: Pablo Cobain. Adding another bullet to the revolver while the car nearly drives itself in careful, slow pursuit of the ka-tet, Brando Capone quietly declares: "... gotcha."

Jhondak
HP: 5

During the drive, Jhondak goggled at the amount of people, cars and buildings in the New York City. Everything he saw was unfamiliar. Numerous towers dwarfed even the largest spires of Imrryr, though none could match the unearthly beauty. What sort of methods could have been used to construct such things were beyond his imagination. There were places where he couldn't have seen the sky without looking straight up. And the city itself seemed to stretch on forever. And even though everything seemed to move at great speed, he started to pick up patterns. The layout of the streets was very regimented. People walked only in certain areas and cars moved in others. "Law seems to be very strong here. It must make for a good base from which to battle against Chaos."

Russ
HP: 1 LP: 1 Cnd: Fine

Russ shrugged, a difficult enough maneuver in the full car. "Wouldn't know, didn't know about the whole metaphysical battle of Law versus Chaos before..." His voice trailed off. He'd never quite figured out how he'd gotten to Owen's world. His memories were kind of fuzzy about that. Maybe a part of him had been afraid of asking the questions, suspecting he wouldn't like the answers. I've fought dragons, witnessed magic and met JFK. Best not to poke at the how.

"Anyway, we're downtown, at the center of the city. There's still plenty of unlawfulness to be found, if you know where to look." A note of excitement crept into his voice as he spoke.

"Maybe in a big grand sense, there's a Law vs. Chaos thing going on, but as far as this world, and New York City is concerned, there's only us vs. Sombra and North Central Positronics. All hush-hush." Brian amended. "Barely anyone beyond Tet Corporation knows what's going on, I'm sure."

GM Post:

Pablo nods in agreement. "Even the Enemy conceals much from his minions." With Russ, though, he disagrees: "The Red takes different forms on different levels of the Tower. There," he explains, not specifying where exactly he means, "the war is between Law and Chaos. Here, Sombra - which was the North Central Positronics we know from the robots..." The driver, agent Klein, takes interest in the discussion of things alien to his own world. "Robots," he mutters under his breath in disbelief. Pablo continues, "Well, Sombra uses technology too. What makes the Red the Red isn't its chaos, it's desire to undo everything. At least, from what I know..."

While this New York looks years, if not decades, ahead of what Russ recalls, he can tell that the SUV is moving its way to Manhattan. After the conversation continues for a few minutes, Klein announces: "2nd Avenue and 46th Street. Here we are." An impressive black skyscraper stands at the location. An address on the building reads: 2 Hammarskjöld Plaza.

Children play and adults either converse, read the newspaper, or eat their lunches outside in a small area housing some modern art sculptures, stone benches, and flower beds. Directly in front of the skyscraper, though, a half-dozen men and women dressed like secret service agents wait for the SUV's passengers.

"Sombra owns North Central technically." Brian stated, glancing wryly at Klein. "But no, we haven't seen any of North Central's advances here, so yeah it is a surprise still to hear of robots."

"Time to get out, open the trunk... keep the steampunk robot hidden again, Myron, at least till we get safely inside." Brian requested, opening the door and getting out. Unlike the fellow agents he approached, he wasn't going all 'classic suit look' since Brian had been assigned to be out in public and that DID attract some attention, blending in had been his responsibility.

"They're here. Plus two extra as it turns out. This includes the steampunk robot that is being... cloaked until we get it away from the wrong eyes." Brian reported quietly to the group in front.

Owen

The drive through the city was for more impressive than what Owen had imagined from what Russ had told him of his home, and Owen found himself spending most of his time staring out the windows. When they pulled up in front of the skyscraper, the gathered Tet agents attracted his attention, and he attempted to look appropriately respectable. You are a gunslinger, he mentally reprimanded himself, but you probably look like a lost sheep.
