Leviathan wastes no time, with the chaos of the battle raging, and the time ticking away to reach their target he charges the new figure charging the group and collides firmly. The two figures slam into a tree, snapping the ancient wood like a twig.

Leviathan finds himself standing over a much more humanoid form than he had expected - the darkness of the shape now clearly due to a uniform caked and cover in mud. The face is streaked with blood and mud also, but the white maple leaf* is just visible in all the muck...

Jotun moans, clearly dazed by Leviathan's attack.

The squad leader yells for his men to stop firing as he tries to survey the damaged and decimated foliage for signs of other foes.

Armour gets a strong sense of fear from somewhere off to the right, on a bearing with the team's target.

* Original image of Jotun was Chris Evans in the his alternate Cap suit, taking a little creative license to compensate for my lack of artistic ability. For the sake of argument, same uniform.

Beetle is up.

For the sake of recap - the hounds are beaten back or being held in reserve, one "predator" is engaged with the group, you do not know if there are others at this point.

Alien Hostile Identified. Targeting. the mechanical intonation of Khaji Da sounded in Willy's head, targeting cross hairs appearing over the painted figure that had stepped from the foliage.

"I know, I know." Willy said, as he directed himself towards the alien hunter, flitting quickly through the jungle to wheel about at the thing that had almost vaporized him.

Close Quarters Combat advised. the AI declared, then explained. Thorough Analysis of Combat Capabilities Required for Assessment.

Willy merely grinned as he whirled around, rushing towards the alien hunter as the Scarab Wings snapped shut behind him, landing in a running tumble as the cannons that had replaced his forearms suddenly began to morph. The barrels closed up on themselves as the carapace extended, forming massive, wicked, razor sharp blades in their stead, and Willy leaped from his roll, spinning, arms weaving the blades in a pattern of incredible precision and finesse. An absolute marvel of death and destruction as Willy roared as the blades sliced at the alien threat.

OOC wrote:Yeah, let's do something simple. I'm going to fly into close quarters and attack this predator with my Arm Blades. 1d20+12=31 So close to a critical, but wait! Multiattack damage. So, DC 25 plus Multiattack. That's gonna leave a mark.

Depending on the actual number of opponents in the jungle canopy, Beetle either just made himself a very large target or scared the bejezus out of them. The paint covered warrior screams that horrible bestial noise and struggles, clearly impaled on the blades of the Legionnaire. Willy is aware of the sheer weight of the creature, feels a slight tingle as an electric current washes over him and then the dead weight starts to pull him forward.

The current is immediately assessed by the suit's AI and Willy doesn`t need the confirmation to know that the cloaking field has been disabled. Through the paint and splattering yellowish blood, the creature is vaguely lizardlike, it`s face hidden by a helmet. It wears sparse garments or coverings and has a mesh bag at it's waste with three human skulls in it, all bleached clean. The shoulder cannon pivots and aims towards Beetle, but stops and powers down, the mental command finished.

Rolled a nat 1 on the Toughness. Even with the Pred`s Toughness that`s just sad. In a good way for you guys. Considering the delay and Kenma`s crit, I say bye-bye Predator.

Meanwhile, Tinker hears a voice next to him, human with the slightest of Japanese accents on its perfect English diction..

"Good job with the paint." The disembodied voice states. "There are two others out there. They`ll be much more careful now. I am trying to ascertain number of hounds. "

Anansi, a Perception roll please.

Jotun looks groggily at the scene, takes in the soldiers and spots Hawkwind. He looks at what minor markings that Leviathan might have.

"Finally. Reinforcements!" He says, "Edge is still alive, but we're unable to get word back to base. Keep a tight perimiter and we might just salvage this mission!"

He takes stock of the members of the group that he can see.

"There is something to be said for multiple fliers on a team."

However slight and insignificant, Anansi notices Tinker looking at the source of the voice, but does not hear said voice.

Unless Enigmatic wants to oppose the roll.

No opposed roll.

Tinker glanced and frowned. "That better be Shadow," he said quietly.

"Guilty as charged." The reply comes to Tinker. "Be careful though, I have no idea why Jotun blew cover."

Carrol crouched low, ready to hose down with webbing the first hostile that she 'felt' along the surface. She tilted her head minutely towards Tinker. "Nod if you have a friendly there. Then explain. Fast."

Ready an action to Web Snare, that also goes for an unsatisfying explanation.

"Came running through the forest full tilt, let himself collide with your... team mate."

Anansi's concerns are a stark reminder that you're not... out of the woods yet.*

Willy grunted under the slumping weight of the alien as his blades ran right through it. Ick. He had wanted to slice the alien hunter, not stab it to death. Bad move of the predators part, trying to dodge the blade only to impale itself on the other. And Willy had barely enough time to register the sickening crunch as the other blade came in for another stab. Khaji Da, he reasoned. No other explanation - it wouldn't give anything it attacked a chance to attack back if it had it's way. This time? The AI had had it's way.

As the predator's cloaking field disabled, Willy stepped back, blades rescinding from the Predator's falling form as it fell, Willy's forearms returning to their normal state. His hands looked like hands again. And the blood that ran slick on the blades began to fade, absorbed and broken down by the Scarab suit for analysis by Khaji Da. He stepped back from the corpse, noting how the cannon had almost blown him to pieces had it not suddenly died from the lack of biometrics. It was uncanny what the AI knew. And it still frightened him every time the Scarab deigned to share what it knew with Willy just as he witnessed it happen.

Target Neutralized. Additional target detected. Scanning. Identified. Subject: Legionnaire Jotun. Prepping Particle Cannon.

Willy turned in the direction the Scarab spoke of. Spotting the man on the ground, Willy strode to the others, ignoring the AI's notes about prepping weaponry. "What's going on? We're still in a hostile area... that's the jargon for it, right?"

Dr. Amanda Greene

She stayed in the treetops, ever vigilant for threats while the others talked.
