Throwing Big Things

Postby cjh » Tue Jul 13, 2004 7:44 am

Hi,

This has probably come up before, but I'm pretty new to these boards. I've got a player who's character is a Brick, and he wants to know the options for taking big things around (like cars, mailboxes, phone poles...typical supers stuff) and using them as improvised thrown weapons. The only real reference that I can find to throwing stuff is the Throwing Mastery feat.

What we were looking for is mechanic:, Does it take a Strength check or power check? What kind of damage does it do? Etc. Is there some reference in the rulebook itself that we're missing? Right now I'm improvising something from BESM d20, but I don't like it and I would rather replace it with a better rule.

Actually it's in the combat section under "Improvised weapons"
One man's hobo booze is another man's fiiiine sippin' wine.

Oh, and by the way, I don't use drawbacks in my game, just complications.

I thought that I went through all of that section. Can you provide a page reference?

page 112
2nd column
mid page
below weapons & super strength
above Sample weapons

there is an additoinal note regarding the fragile nature of an improvised weapon included in the errata. Basically if the damage being done is double the hardness the item breaks.

I saw that. Its really not what I was looking for...the weights aren't a huge matter for me, or my player. We were just looking for something, on the rare chance he decided to try to throw something with his character's STR 20.

No problem - just like to toss the link on anything with the word "Throw" in it.
