Mutants and Masterminds 1.5?

Mutants and Masterminds 1.5?

Well I've gotten the new book and I was wondering if anyone is merging the two games? Basically 2E integrated a lot of the optional rules from the M&M Annual and changed some other things. The problem? My players like 1E. Some of the changes we've done:


* We use the Ability Score modifier for your number of hits you can take. So in the 'real' world we use the Con modifer for number of hits.....mental attacks, we use Wis modifier.

* If you fail your save you take 1 hit, for every 5 points you take an additional hit. It makes the attacks from powers a lot more powerful.


* For skills we use the Feat-Highly Trained (Ability) allows you to purchase skills from that appropiate ability at 3:1 ratio.



Anyone else do anything like this?

So characters with 10 CON are out first hit?
I sometimes wonder if I've ever made a smart decision.
