Aura of Innocence

Post by dunlaing » Tue Jul 05, 2005 6:54 am

How would you create a power that makes everyone assume that you're innocent, no matter what?--Like, they walk in on you standing over a dead body with a bloody knife in your hand and their first reaction is to ask if you saw the killer getting away?

My first thought was to make it a control effect and then add 3 extras (one to make it Continuous, one to make it a free action, and one to make it a reaction). Does that sound right? Or am I missing something?

Umm...

Super-Skill: Bluff with the added bonuses of extreme implausability.

Elasticity essentially has with Super-Skill escape artist with the bonus of being "extreme" in letting someone escape through even keyholes and such... I don't see why other skill couldn't have similiar models.

Off the top of my head, I'd go with mind control, telepathic, continous, subtle, area effect, limited:one command.
One man's hobo booze is another man's fiiiine sippin' wine.

Oh, and by the way, I don't use drawbacks in my game, just complications.

Farik's build looks great. And I'm very, very stealing this character.
Token Chaotic Neutral member of JUDGE.

I don't have my book with me, but does that add up to 5 pp/rank?

I don't have mine either but I believe mind control is 3pp inwhich case it would be 6pp/rank.

HA! i love that idea! i always thought the only real use for one command was masterbate. (hey, it something most anyone can do and keeps 'em occupied for a minute or two...)

good luck getting your PC's to not catch on to him though... (wow, who would have ever thought that kid would have been at the third bank robbery too! small world huh?) but then again, it would be difficult to prosecute someone who is almost automatically considered innocent...

No, no, it's a PC who wants the power.

It should make for interesting sessions. There'll be at least one NPC in the setting who should make the Will save easily and see through it, but most NPCs won't have much of a chance on the save.
