Alex Williamson Art

Postby Alex Williamson » Fri May 25, 2012 9:32 am

Hey, I'm new here, but I have a long history with Superhero RPGs and comics in general. I'm currently a pro comic artist working for White Bull Studios and Petpalooza Magazine and I do illustration work for Catalyst Game Labs on their Shadowrun and Battletech lines. I post regularly on some art forums and a couple RPG forums (primarily to pick up commissions here and there).

Enough blabbing - ART!:

You can see more art here:

and my webcomic (on hiatus for a bit):
www.brassfalcon.com

If you're interested in commissions (I love doing character drawings!) PM me for rates.

Cheers, Alex

Shadowchaser: Thanks and thanks for the opportunity - I'm excited to start working on your pieces (was checking some ref earlier today). :)

Etherial Ghost: Thanks man! It's been a lot of hard work, but it's paid off. I just recently became a full-time artist, so it's nice to get praise. If you're an aspiring artist, I can't recommend Penciljack.com enough. I've been on there for the last four years and the experience has been awesome. I've progressed tenfold from where I was. Check it out if you're looking to tune up your own skills.

No problem giving praise where praise is due!

As far as my "skills" go, unless they can help me improve on drawing stick figures, I'm in trouble! :D

I can appreciate good art and artists, but I'm not a very good artist at all.

You ever do any Adam Warlock stuff?

Not in a looooong time - my second set of sample pages ever were of Adam Warlock and Silver Surfer fighting Thor when I was 17 or 18 - more than half my life ago. He was really big back then. I've been having some fun with the Surfer lately, as well as Thanos:

That was for a local metalsmith putting together a show with various "artefacts" he was constructing, including the Surfer's board, Mjolnir, Wolverine's skeletal arm remains, Doom's helmet and a couple other things. I did five pieces for him, but he only completed two of his artefacts. It was too bad really - I had been looking forward to it and he kinda dropped the ball. But I had loads of fun doing the artwork! :)

Great job on Thanos!

Warlock has been a fave of mine since the Infinity Gauntlet stuff (along with my on-again, off-again fascination with Thor).

Definitely looking forward to seeing your work in print!

Thanks Ethereal Ghost! James "Shadowchaser" Dawsey at Vigilance Press wound up hiring me for a gig, so that should be coming soon. Plus some of the Shadowrun and Battletech stuff I did is out now. Aaaand you can see some of my goofier work at http://www.petpalooza.com - I do a comic called the Pet Avenger (nothing to do with Marvel's Pet Avengers) - he stops animal cruelty and all that jazz. Finally, check out my webcomic: http://www.brassfalcon.com - it's not complete (been on hiatus for a while), but I'll be getting back to it soon, plus I'll be pitching it to a few companies.

Anyway, here's a peek at the work I've been doing for vigilance Press:

There's a couple more, but I want James to post those himself. I've been drumming up some hubbub elsewhere with these and they've been getting some nice reviews, so I'm very pleased with that.

Also, here's a few sketches for another client - non-product related, so I can show off some of my process:

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful - please Master Williamson, I entreat you to both keep up this marvellous work and this splendid series of posts (so that we might both appreciate it and enjoy the regular debut of new glories to appreciate).

Mr. Williamson, I hope you don't mind, but I've posted your contact info at a couple of other gaming and art sites, so that people interested in commissions can get a hold of you.
