I think it comes off. Like that kid from the old Twilight Zone who has the power to kill his family members if they don't love him. The expression is blank, and the eyes are knowing, which definitely comes off as creepy.

The guy in the bear suit feels worse than creepy. Like evil pedophile furry creepy.
Characters (3E)

Russ Charles (PL6) -- Wheel of Fortune (Neo-Noir)
K9 Boy (PL10) -- St. Metrovilleburg (Satire/Parody)

Well, he's not a pedophile, I don't see the need to put that kind of creepiness into any of my supplements. He's actually more of an abuse victim than an abuser, but I don't want to spoil too much here. I did want to kind of point out his wounded nature in the tattered look of the bear costume.

I certainly didn't mean any offense by that. It was just the first thing that came to mind. Well, I lie. The first thing that came to mind was the recent Doctor Who episode with the large teddy bear that came to life and tried to commit suicide.

Eee! Spoliers! I haven't seen the new season yet! :)

I wasn't offended, I'm just very nervous about people making that connection. It wasn't something that originally occurred to me because I was working from the written word, but when I started showing the image to people, the "Pedobear" connection was mentioned, and I kind of panicked. Hopefully people won't find it offensive, but these *are* bad guys, so they should be somewhat offensive. Just not in a way that hurts people's feelings.

They should be fun to beat up... or at least fun to try and beat up! The bad guys you "Love to Hate" kinda thing. Not the 'Wow, that publisher is kinda creepy' kinda thing. :)

I was thinking Morte from Planescape: Torment.

Since he's so topical, the final art for The Floating Skull as he'll appear on the page. Had to fill in some white space. :)

Hold it up to a mirror. :)

His cestas would leave 'HARD KNOX' imprinted on his victims. Kind of like the Skull ring from the phantom? :)

I think Smoke.
That smile on Mirrors combined with the suit is one step away from Joker for me. Not that that is a bad thing, but Smoke has a more unique look IMO.
