And the cover art, before we add the text.

The final, composite image for the cover. I love working digitally, because when I'm under pressure I can still combine elements to create something really appealing. I'm surprised at how well the art combined, actually. I was thinking I would have to re-draw both characters, but when I tried juxtaposing the original art and zooming in, they lined up just right! Just enough variance to help create that three-dimensional look.

Gonna see if we can't get the M&M version out for X-mas!

I included the character portraits in the final version of Smoke and Mirrors, which is now up for sale at RPGNow.com. You can click on my banner to get to the Vigilance press store. :)

Also, rough pencils for something coming up in February (bit of a sneak peak).

One thing about my pencils, certain things can change a lot between this step and the 'inking' process, including proportions and such. I'm already looking at this drawing and seeing tweaks I need to make...

Finished character design for Black Chapter, coming soon from Vigilance Press:

I always struggle to try and make characters look unique, and Jack Norris and I went back and forth on the character design until I just sketched up a color image of what I thought she should be... and he was convinced. I'm either really bad at using words to get my point across, or really good at using pictures. Fortunately, I don't have to rely on one or the other.

Thanks!

Here's a peek at something for Strange Attractors, a little half-page illo with a sense of humor. It's not done yet, I still need to finish shading, but I went with a bit of "Calvin and Hobbes" art style.

Finished piece- not a huge difference, but cartoon shading isn't that hard. :)

Rail, Amp's opposite! A real heartbreaker, if I may say so...

Hey, thanks! I work best under pressure, actually. :)

...to the point where I sometimes forget other people don't always work well under pressure...
