James Dawsey's Art Board

Postby Shadowchaser » Fri Sep 09, 2011 5:00 am

Okay, I decided it's time for me to start posting images here.

Ironic that I'm starting off with a series of Nazis, monsters, and Nazi Monsters since I'm such a nice guy. But I love me some supervillains. :)

Here's a couple of images from Vigilance Press's upcoming "Ice Palace" adventure for M&M 3E (an update of an older module, with new art and layouts and 3E statblocks).

This guy was inked and colored by Dan Houser, pencils are mine.

Another Nazi werewolf, since we needed two:

I did the art for this one myself, including the coloring. Tried a little 'woodcut' style inking process that looked pretty good on his fur.

The Cover illustration. My art again, digitally painted in Photoshop.

Excellent stuff...particularly the first one (werewolf w/ the arm band). All we need now are the books that go with the images... :D

I agree!

Here's some more art from an upcoming book. This one should hopefully launch in October. Starting off with:

The Floating Skull is one of my favorites in this one. Jack Norris wrote these characters, by the way. I'm just illustrating this one.

There's a cover coming from Jon Gibbons, too. :)

Nice work, James!

Though for a second I read "Jon Gibbons" as "Dave Gibbons"...

For some reason that skull just makes me think of Bob from the Dresden Files ... probably because he's just a skull too.

I might be showing my age, but my first thought was "Murray the Talking Skull" from the Monkey Island games. :)

Okay, Creepy Child villain time!

L'Enfant Terrible is the second-creepiest idea I had to draw for The Oktobermen.

His Sidekick, Mister Bear, being Creepy Villain #1, in my opinion.

Ya know, I didn't think the kid that creepy until that bear showed up. ;)

You're not supposed to know just how creepy he is by looking at him, but when you read his background... *shiver*... Jack outdid himself.

I tried to put a hint of it in his eyes, something that wouldn't register immediately but would be there if you looked again. I don't know if it comes across or not, but Jack says he saw it. :)
