Dan Christensen's art thread

Postby Nosfera2 » Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:47 am

Hi everyone,

My name is Dan Christensen and I'm a cartoonist/illustrator... also a big Mutants & Masterminds fan. I discovered M&M a few years ago after stumbling across the excellent Noir sourcebook, and have been hooked ever since. I've been lurking around the boards for awhile and thought I'd take a minute to post some of my work. Hope you like what you see (all characters copyright DC or Marvel, etc. of course):

Hi mate, welcome to the boards.Always nice to have a new artist on the think tank. Have you had a chance to look at our monthly art challenges, i'd love for you to take part.
You've got a great old school style going on, I especially like the Black terror.

Thanks for the kind words DrZero. I'll see if I can contribute something on this month's art challenge (as soon as I find out who the character is, that is). Liked your Daredevil on last month's jam, by the way. Nice work.

Welcome!
I really like the quality of your line art. The inking is really nice!
Your style look like the french comic book characters of my younger years. Hope to see more of your work soon!

Here's a recent commission I drew for Arizona-based cartoonist Scott Godlewski:
Image
The character is Scott's very own Green Ghost, a pulp-style avenger whose adventures have been published through IndyPlanet.

For some reason, I see that part of the above image got cropped... sorry about that, I'm kind of a noob at posting here. If you're interested, though, you can see a step-by-step process on how I did this, as well as links to Scott's website, by clicking on the link to my blog.

Thanks for looking!
Dan

Please allow me to wish you a belated Welcome to the Atomic Think Tank, Nosfera.

My post may have been delayed, but let me assure you that my appreciation for the art you've produced was instantaneous.

Can't believe I missed this thread. Really nice work - I like the classic, "clean lines" look. Hope to see more from you

I concur - I'd especially like to see more Golden Age-type characters. :D

Thanks dirkgentry and Libra. Here are a few older drawings I did of some of my favorite Golden Age & Pulp characters:

The Spider, my favorite pulp avenger of them all
Right now I'm working on a graphic novel and doing some illustrations for an upcoming Hero Games book, but I'll try to post some new stuff soon. Thanks for looking!
