Sovereign' Artwork

Postby Sovereign » Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:56 am

I've been toying with the idea of repainting some action figures....but it wasn't until seeing Captain Thunder in the Mutants &Masterminds Freedom City Book that I actually had an easy way to try it.

I used an extra Captain Marvel Figure that I had gotten from the "Kalibak" set. Since it was the less detailed of the two that I had it would be no great loss if I botched it. SO I picked out the picture of Captain Thunder I wanted from Freedom City and got to work.

I used Games Workshop paints and I plan on going over him with a fine tooth brush to finish out the detail work, but for my first attempt at this he didn't turn out too bad. he's still a little rough around the edges, but I'm confident I can clean it up with a little more work. Once I do a coat of sealant will protect the paint from scraping off.

Lemme know what you all think. After all I need some critique here.

Wow. That's pretty cool. I've been thinking of doing some conversions of Heroclix figures.

When you do the detail work I might hit the gold bits with a watered down brown or chestnut wash.
