Gearilla look really really nice!

On the subject of El Muerte Negro, may I sugesst that you shouldn't mix
bold highlight of the silouhette of the character and the shading on the musculature? You should color the line to fit with the shading...

Good work!

I shall definitely be giving that a try in the near future.

Nice work. Maybe it's just me, but the battle armor looks like it has a mischievous smirk.
(Witty comment coming soon.)

Thanks, mate.
I was trying for a kind of lovable knucklehead look, but now that I look again, I can definitely see the smirk on the right side of the mouth.

Thanks very much.
However, kudos have to go to my friend Scott who gave me the idea of an enormous, steam powered battlesuit shaped like a gorilla.

My compliments to him for such an admirably demented Mad Science concept!

Well, unfortunately, my M&M game dried up, and I hit a horrible art-drought. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to draw anything more than a sketch in ages.
However, recently, a friend of mine asked me to draw a kitschy 50's-style robot for a club flyer.
So here's the result. Here's the original sketch.

And here it is, shaded in photoshop.

And here are some colour versions:

Steam Age Brass.

and Space Age Silver.

He looks like a fun sort of robot to be around - or a fun series of robots, given the various era-specific looks you've given him.

Thanks, mate. I was pretty pleased with how amiable he ended up looking.

Kind of Wall-E meets the Tin Man. I like him.

Now that's an excellent description - and Mr Rua he certainly does look positively friendly! (Although more so in Space Age Silver, in my opinion. Steampunk bronze is a more sober look).

Dude, your robot stuff is killer. I think you have a new calling. STEAMPUNK!

I haven't drawn for a whole week, but after seeing your last few drawings, you are making me want to do something again.
:)

Thanks!

Honestly, at the moment, I'm happy for ANYTHING that'll get me drawing again!
I'm currently taking a life-drawing class so I can work on some of the niggling problems with my art... and if anyone is contemplating spending any time sitting on comfortable lounges, drinking excellent gin at cheap prices and staring at half-naked ladies while honing your skills, I can thoroughly recommend it.

Hopefully, it'll inspire me to get back to work.
