DCAU Hero Image Machine (Hero-O-Matic = Liberty Ladies)

Postby Demongg » Wed Apr 23, 2008 10:48 am

Not sure if this has been covered on the ATT...

I'm not really a fan of the Hero Machine, I do however love making supers with the Bruce Timm style Animated look.
In the past I'd always just collected images in photoshop and made my own. However I recently discovered site called Hero-O-Matic.

This generator has all the characters made done in the style of the characters of the DC comic Animated Universe. So if you watched Justice League, Batman: The Animated Series, etc.

The only problem is that the site is in Portugese.
To get started click on the word at the bottom "criar."

I think it'll be fun to make originals and possibly even images of our favorite Freedom City characters!

If you make images post them here!!

Here's my 15 minute shot at Freedom City's:

This is the Hero-O-Matic in action when I was making it...

This program is AWESOME!

I too have my reservses about Hero Maker. It was cool at first, but seems to lack a good comic book feel.

but this program is amazing. Coupled with the fact that I'm a big fan of the JLA cartoon and this program has my name all over it ^_^

Time to update my icon here

BTW, nice Centurion!

Not as happy with this one, lots of options but not perfect to get layers and multiple tones of a mostly black costumed character...

Well, it's not easy making these characters on this program. but it's still fun to play with ^_^

So here's my interpretation of:

Daedalus 2525

Image

Who is this mysterious newcomer to Freedom City 2525? Is he the legendary inventor Daedalus as he claims to be? Perhaps someone carrying on the legacy of the immortal genius?

Or maybe...something sinister?

Two, two, two - Johnny's!!
I like the red suited version best. With the options I couldn't get the neat lines on his blue costume as easily...
I also had to add the "R" in post (photoshop, hehe) as there's no inport for icons. I also added in a quicky blur effect...

This is literally 10 minutes (max) each. Once you get the hang of where things are...

These get quicker as I do more...

Here's two characters... one from the Freedom League (hope you don't mind Legion, Doc Met is one of my favs and I wanted to try him). The other is one of my characters from one of the few times I've actually PLAYED M&M... it was from a "Beyond Freedom" game ... a legacy hero of Mr. Metropolis - simply called "METRO" (less stoic and more outgoing with similar powers, like Batman Beyond). I always liked the idea/image of Dr. Met being made of cement - hence my version as Metro.

Meh.

No problem here ^_^

Yours actually turned out a bit better than mine did.

Thought about that skirt option. but didn't go with it due to the pocket. Didn't think to just erase it in Paint till now.

And, since we're all gung ho for posting these (Cause this program's a blast), here's Patriot, defacto leader from my New Action Comics game

Patriot
Patriot...as in 'Patriotic'?
No. As in 'Missile'
