I admit I wasn't a big fan of your style - probably because of some very bad b-w illustration on old AEG handbooks - but these last images are really awesome.

Scott James, sir. You are THE BEST. ....Unbelievable. I've said it before, I'll say it again, you're the Jack Kirby of M&M.

Wood - I know I did some real crappy aeg pieces but I did do a lot of decent ones as well. the crappy ones I did was due to tight dead lines poor art direction/discriptions and the fact that I got burned out and had a few problems with payment!!!! I'm the 1st to say my later AEG was terrrible!

here are some of the nicer ones!

as always - excellent work, Scott.

And it's nice to hear an artist being so frank about publishers not dealing on the level. It's very refreshing when someone calls a spade a spade in this industry.

I agree! Now that I see your description I must agree that it fits Scott James' work rather better than the 'Kirbyesque' description I saw yesterday.

(This isn't a comment on the quality of your work Mr. James, just on the aesthetics of your design - I think they match the second description more closely than the former). :D

I'm a student of Toth!!!! I just hope that shows up every now and then!!!
dirkgentry2000 - I big on callin' a spade a spade!!!! :) jen Wick was the best AD for AEG and I created my best work under her. I was more original in the descriptions. After Pinto came along I was constantly redrawing illos I had done years before!!! you can only be so creative when you are forced to draw the same theme and or depick the same sene before your redundancy becomes repetitive!!!

This is good to hear, I laways had great respect for the early AEG's authors - particulary mr and mrs Wick. By the way among the L5R piece you poisted there are two of those that make me a little doubtful at the time, namely the Crab-Nezumi and the Ninja piece. About the first one, it's probably just a matter of tastes, but I think that you are better drawing human than creatures, the ratling looked a little "flat" to me. About the second, I don't know, I like the idea and the whole dynamic of the scene is interesting, but still bothers me somehow, probably some detail about proportions.

It does, actually, now that I know to look for it and what to look for. :D

(Mind you, be careful about those exclamation marks Master James and remember Terry Prachett's maxim - the more exclamation marks in use, the closer the user is to the edge of sanity!)

Wasn't the first one posted a few pages back? Not that I'm complaining, because it's still awesome.
