Help with linked power array flaws and extras!!!

Postby spikevampire » Tue Jan 03, 2012 3:23 pm

Hi guys, this is a strictly rule based counseling...

How a linked array works in conjunction with flaws and extras???

My example:

- Array of linked power (Stun and Damage) both with distract... How should I handle this?

I've done it in this way:

- Array:
(Blast 2 -1 distract)x10
Linked:
(Stun 2 +1 ranged -1 distract)x10
Total 3 pp x rank = 30 pp

I'm not satisfied with this because distract seem to be the flaw which should be applied only once, not twice.

Is it better to recreate a power array in this way?
(Array 2 -1 distract)x25 = 25 pp
(Blast 2)
Linked:
(Stun 2 +1 ranged)x10

It is even cheaper and due to the array structure Rank 25 should give 50 pp (Rank x2 usually)

Help me, i think I'm not completely into the array structure rule :)

First build the effect you want.
The distracting flaw does only need to be applied once, so put it on the power with the broadest cost per rank (Ranged Stun).

shock bolt {Blast 10 Linked to Stun 10 (Ranged, Distracting)}
* cost: 4 points per rank, 40 total.

Then fit the effect into an array.
Divide the total cost by 2 to get the ranks of array needed.

shock bolt Array 20 [{Blast 10 Linked to Stun 10 (Ranged, Distracting)}]

That's what I was thinking (the Kenson's example about the tiring flaw is the one I always use to keep in mind of multiple conflicting flaws in linked powers XD)... Thanks guy
