Rat Power of the squeeze?

Postby Demongg » Mon May 23, 2005 1:44 pm

So I have a player looking to perfect his idea for his Rat style character.

He has two things he wants to simulate:

1. the hiding ability of rats

2. the ability to squeeze through tiny openings.

What do you think the best solution would be?
We've come to a few ideas and I'd like your official solution thought.

- low rank Invisibility, perhaps flawed to give anyone a spot check no matter the distance.
- ranks in Blending and good skills in Hide and Move Silently.

- low rank Incorporeal, flawed to need an opening to "get through", also requiring a Skill Escape Artist check modified by the size of the hole.
- Ranks of Elasticity, flawed to take out everything but the ability to squeeze through holes.

I'm looking for answer for two goals...
- best simulation for the ideas
- for cost effectiveness WITHOUT breaking/bending the rule concepts

what do you think?

1. the hiding ability of rats

Blending or Super-Skill (Hide) seem to work best here.

2. the ability to squeeze through tiny openings.

A flawed version of Elasticity or Super-Skill (Escape Arist) here.

Super-Dex would be also be a good idea for this character, providing a decent baseline Dex bonus for the above skills, with lower levels of Super-Skill layered on top (more cost-efficient, too).
