The young speedster of the team The Core. He's a rather wild young man, out chasing women when not superheroing, and has a high opinion of himself. A time-traveler from 2187, he acts as a mysterious mentor to the present-day superheroes, and has some connection to Critter herself. Who he is and what he is up to is being slowly revealed, but it is still not clear whether he is a bad guy or not. He is certainly a very ruthless character, willing to dispose of people or callously abandon them if necessary. This might just be the inevitable corollaries to working with time-travel though, Rip Hunter of the DC universe is a good guy and he can be very ruthless at times as well.

His suit is an immensely powerful device, and he has access to future technologies that let him do all sorts of other things. He rarely stops being incorporeal, which often annoys those around him. Much of the time he floats aloof like a Watcher, calmly answering entreaties for aid with sermons about the inevitability of time. The other heroes now rarely ask him for assistance, and indeed get suspicious when he starts helping them more than normal. Critter accepts him as a mentor, but is herself deeply unsure of him.

Gina Kumamoto is Cassie's room-mate at college. Like most of the other people in her life she turns out to be a superhero, part of a secret order performing a role similar to and related to that of Paradox. Son of the king of Atlantis, who was murdered by the big bad Tidepool. He is a driven young man, obsessed with revenge. He meets and joins up with the In Crowd, the girls being very taken with his Pacific island good looks. At the conclusion of the arc he becomes a permanent member of the team.

His build is just a cut-down version of my Aquaman build, as he and his father are total expies. This still comes out as quite powerful and expensive though given how I built the Justice League. He makes good use of his power to summon all sorts of strange creature from the deep.

A flying brick with strong healing powers. This seems like it would be a game breaker, but she can hardly use her power due to some sort of evil presence that takes hold whenever she does, a lot like the Sentry and the Void in Marvel. She often disappears for extended periods, again apparently due to the problems she has with her powers. The other heroes treat her a lot like they do Paradox, as a strange and unreliable figure who might help out but is as likely to do nothing. These problems cause her a lot of distress as she wants to use her powers to the utmost to help people, but dare not do so.

A minor villain Critter takes down in an early issue. I've made his powers a combination of a suit and superpowers, as there is already a guy in a winged supersuit. The Critter universe's sympathetic ineffectual villain. She's just a young girl whose dad was a supervillain and left her a supersuit, which she is foolishly using to try and be a supervillain. All this gets her is repeatedly beaten up, by both heroes and other villains. A total woobie. Paradox tries to encourage her to be a hero instead, but she's dubious. In her latest appearance Critter and Rookie run her off while laughing as she squeals protestations of innocence.

I've actually upgraded her for this build, as she's so low-powered it otherwise isn't that interesting and I thought of a bunch of stuff that could be done with a cricket themed build. Her Cricket Chirp power is a sonic attack, but targets Will instead of Fortitude as it induces intense pain rather than being very loud, like fingernails down a blackboard times a hundred.

A villain only seen in one panel, but made more interesting when Critter admits she lost that fight. I've made her therefore a superstrong martial artist with a ballet theme.

Critter as a character is not a complete Mary Sue. She makes mistakes and loses a fair few fights, even against ordinary villains, not just the big bad. The other characters round her know that she is important, but only because Paradox keeps telling them so. In the High Tide arc it was the In Crowd who confronted Tidepool in his lair and finally defeated him, Critter was not involved, her big day is yet to come. Much of the time she is uncertain and though she has great power she cannot yet control it reliably.

A villain in a shocking pink battlesuit. Despite this she is a ruthless thief and arms dealer, stealing weapons and selling them on or ransoming them back. Critter takes her down early on, but in a recent rematch she succeeds in knocking Cassie back and escaping. Unlike other villains she isn't a psychotic. During the High Tide arc she fought alongside the heroes against Tidepool. This didn't make her a good guy though, she went right back to her villainous ways after the day was won.

A note on the Shell Charge power, this affects anyone touching her suit. I didn't want it to be reaction damage as that is too expensive and she had to press a button to activate it, but at the same time it should automatically hit anyone touching the suit unless they can yank away in time. Touch is a type of perception.

The first supervillain Critter encounters. She attacks Cass for no apparent reason. We later see her talking and arguing to herself. She may be mentally ill, but since this is a superhero world it may be a case of possession or someone broadcasting into her head.

A supervillain professional killer, he swoops down and carries his victims off then kills them later, by the look of it with torture as we see one of his victims chained up as he slashes at her with his talons. A really vile character, the violence and cruelty is rather jarring in this otherwise light-hearted comic.

A minor supervillainess seen robbing a bank by melting through the vault door. Her power is that she can heat her whole body up to the point where she can melt steel by touch. Cruel and selfish she shows no concern for the harm she inflicts on those around her. Her power is such that even bullets melt away before they can hit her.
