About the White Rabbit, my reaction to her was similar to that of the artist Stjepan Sejic

For those unfamiliar, the other two ladies are characters from a comic of his, called Sunstone. It is excellent and reading even a bit of it should make it clear why those two are qualified to be doubtful of the Rabbit's claim (I suggest going right for the 1st chapter folder. The ones with random pictures contains spoilers, pseudo-spoilers and early versions of parts of the story that may or may not happen and are all over the place in the chronology of the story)

Time for a new project. I'm going to post up every character I can squeeze out of publisher Big Dog Ink's superhero series Critter and its spinoffs.

This series puts me in mind a lot of Invincible. Teen finds out she has a superpowered parent, develops superpowers, and leaps at the call of superheroic adventure. Things start out normally enough, taking on low-grade villains in back-alleys, joining superteams, flirting with boys. Then things get crazy.

Cassia Crawford is quite high PL because she is both very strong and a highly-skilled fighter. She doesn't get tagged anywhere near as much as Mark Grayson for example. She doesn't have his enormous raw power though. Her power is telekinesis based and was inherited from her mother. She has become a lot more powerful over the course of the series so far, but prefers not to exert her telekinesis at a distance because she finds it exhausting, so I've left it off her build until such time as she makes regular use of it. It would be a very high-grade Move Object and related effect. Her Critter Ears would amplify her ranged telekinesis as well.

Her tail is a length of special metal attached to her belt that she controls telekinetically through a computer built into her belt buckle. Initially she just used it to swing around and grab opponents, but she has learnt a whole bunch of tricks with it.

Leader of Purrfection, a catgirl-themed superteam. They don't do any actual superheroics though, they just make celebrity appearances. Cassie soon gets disgusted with them, but in the end only Cougar herself turns out to be worthless, the other girls step up after the team is disbanded in disgrace.

Cougar has been on the setting equivalent of the Justice League/Avengers, The Core. I get the impression she used her power to get on the team, as she proves useless in a superfight.

One of the less interesting members of the team, with the result that she drops off the radar after the team disbands. What her powers are, or even if she has any, are not detailed, so I've gone with generic strength and fighting based upon her name. She was team second-in-command and seems uncommitted to superheroics.

Dang, and I thought *I* was the only one perverted enough to come up with that name & concept of "Cougar, the hot MILFy chick" for a super-lady :). Well, mine didn't have any powers set out yet- I'd just made her a hot older chick on a team of Cat-themed villains, and was gonna come up with powers later.

A young woman who rarely gets down off her pole. She later turns out to be a tough cookie who uses her pole as a quarterstaff. Not explicitly stated to have superpowers but since this is supposed to be a superhero comic I've given her some low grade brick powers. I don't like 'superheroes' who are so low-powered a trained soldier or policeman would be more effective. If you're going to be a bad-ass normal you need to be something like Batman or Huntress.

This young heroine started out as Kitten on the Purrfection team. She had no actual powers, or even any training. She was just there to be cute. After the team disbanded she turned up at Cassie's dorm room and announced her new heroic persona as Critter's sidekick. Her idea is that she is going to be the world's smartest superheroine. After some eye-rolling Cassie took her on and started training her up, making her work hard for the first time in her life.

School Girl may not be the world's smartest, but she can get a B+ on a test. She now has a reasonable amount of training as Cassie is a ferocious taskmaster (Cass spent her childhood doing sports and martial arts non-stop and minor heroics with her friends). Her offensive power is greatly increased with her special gloves. As she hits opponents they charge up and allow her one use of a more powerful hit (custom flaw, score 2 hits on an opponent to charge, then get 1 hit with the alternate power).

School Girl has taken over from Critter as the plucky newcomer. Cassie is simply too well-trained and powerful, she becomes a leading hero in the space of a few months in the comic's timeline.

Youngest member of the In Crowd team. She can create a glowing energy line she uses to rope opponents, haul objects about and swing along from. I've also given her enhanced physical powers as she frequently takes knocks and performs stunts that would kill a normal person. Her move object has the Tether extra (my invention), which overcomes the no action/reaction rule on Move Object. The principle effect of this for her is that she can be dragged along by her lasso. She uses this all the time to get a tow from her flying team-mates.

LL is a wildly spunky valley-girl who treats superheroics as an extreme sport, whooping and hollering as she ropes foes or is towed along through the air.

Xarine is an alien who fled to Earth to escape the oppressive culture of her home...place. In her natural form she is not humanoid, or even physically solid. She landed as a cloud of energised elemental matter on a lakeshore and built herself a human body from the mud. Early on she encountered a small boy's handmade comics which featured a superheroine in a simple white costume, so she became a superheroine. Shortly after she encountered Tiffany and Lasso Lass, then Wingboy. She took on the name Slipstream, which for her is not a codename but her real name, replacing her original name.

Slipstream seems in her natural state to be a creature of information rather than a discrete physical entity. A body is just a temporary vehicle. She is intent on being a human being though, and has the mind and behaviour of a young woman, since she has a young woman's brain with all its instincts. She can sense information, allowing her to enter stories and interact with the characters. She didn't read that young boy's comic, she went inside it and walked around. This peculiar trait bemuses her teammates, who have no real idea what she is, apart from their friend.

Slipstream's powers are limited for her race as yet, in time she may become far more powerful. As a character she is reminiscent of Miss Martian from DC, a strange alien, naive and sweet, that likes to act human, even to the point of romantically pursuing men.

The In Crowd's female bruiser. I've based her build on Knockout from the DC universe, a character she very much resembles. She is a cheerful, knockabout girl, who revels in fighting. The In Crowd are a reality show, with little flying cameras following them around recording everything they do. Tiffany though doesn't have any respect for this, occasionally referring to the cameras and the programme, breaking the fourth wall, even smashing the odd camera. Unlike Lasso Lass and especially Wingboy she doesn't care about fame or fortune, she just wants to help people.

I've held back on putting Attractive on all the In Crowd, despite their looks being a feature of the background to the comic. The Critter universe features a lot of canonically attractive people, but you've got to draw the line somewhere or the advantage becomes meaningless. I've reserved it for characters that deliberately play on their looks, or who are exceptionally good-looking.

The self-styled leader of the In Crowd. For most of their appearances the girls clearly regard him as a vain twit, but at the end he wins their respect by his outstanding courage as they muster to confront the big bad.

I've made him a low-grade powersuit wearer. His points cost is low as he is a basic winged brick. Flight is a perennially useful power though and especially so in their principal arc where they're fighting in a world being submerged with all ground movement impossible. The In Crowd often carry their non-flying members.

Wingboy is indeed rather vain, he was the one who set them up as a reality show and he plays for the cameras the most. He also fancies himself a ladies man, but at first the girls on the team don't take him seriously, showing more interest in newcomer Barnacle, which rather needles him (as they intended of course).

Every comic book universe seems to have its equivalent of Superman, often a very direct expy. Icon here is Critter's. He is the leader of The Core, the 'verse's premiere superteam, and the most powerful superhero on the planet. He's a military man, which I've reflected in his skills and advantages. He's immensely powerful, but since the title of the comic isn't 'The Core' or 'Icon' he plays a supporting role. Superheroes in Critter are an established part of society and Icon seems to hold high military rank, soldiers and sailors saluting him and taking his orders. He's a bit stiff, but practical and effective and a good leader to his people.

Senior Core member and Icon's right-hand woman. I've based her powers on the build I did for Illumina for Sidekick Girl, but with much improved abilities, skills and advantages. She's a calm professional, expert in the use of her powers and solicitous for the welfare of the younger superheroes. I've made her a pure flying blaster since she never fights hand-to-hand, fleeing from close attacks. Background on her is scanty, but her name is Princess Eladia and she is apparently a real princess. Of what is not stated, but she is clearly the Wonder Woman of the setting, though a less direct expy than Icon.

The newest and youngest member of the The Core. She uses her powers in a highly sports-themed manner, ice-hockey sticks being a particularly favoured weapon. She is capable though of forming complex machines, such as when she formed a working mini-submersible with propeller. Create is mostly for building structures, so I used variable as she mostly builds weapons and vehicles.

Rookie is a bold and aggressive girl, a tomboy to match Critter herself. The two women get on very well when they meet as they are alike in many ways. Rookie is partnered with Starlette as her light powers overcome her power loss complication. Despite her slightly goofy nature she soon impresses those who meet her.
