Meet Fracture, a very young and deadly mutant with the power to manipulate spatial mass & energy. As a young boy, his powers manifested mostly as the ability to walk through walls by teleporting through spatial portals. But as he grew up , his powers became more deadly and out of control. Ryan had always been a quiet , shy, and a loner in school. And was often picked on, but when he attempted to defend himself, Ryan put many of his bullies in the hospital. He was quickly picked up by the Guardians, were he was taught and trained to use his powers safely.

I decided to make the character PL 6 instead of PL 10, just to see what I could come up with. I used the GMKit to help me put this character together; and Hero lab to stat it up. And borrowed coloring specific powers as a way of making them stand out. Thoughts are welcome on the character, cause I know it could probably be better.

I redid Fracture , but at PL 6. I wanted to do something less powerful. It helped me stay on concept.

Fracture looks good at PL 6. I think the teleport attack really works, and I like the level of balance in the character, as-in he has multiple moves. Usually I prefer characters like this to one-trick ponies.

Hey thanks for Replying! I was hoping I worked that Teleporting attack out right. I may do a lot more PL 6's, and create more down to earth kind of characters. That are focused in their abilities instead of being about raw power. Not that a PL 6 isn't anything to shake a stick at.

I have decided on the following limits for abilities (as far as normal humans go) for my stuff. Seems to me, 5 is a minor limit. While 7 is an extreme limit in most cases. Save with Strength, Fighting, and Stamina.

Normal Human Ability Maximum's
Strength 4 (thought batman to me, should have strength 3, not 4)
Stamina 5
Agility 7
Dexterity 7
Fighting (fighting is still nebulous for me; you take batman for example; he's got a 14 fighting.)
Intellect 7
Awareness 7
Presence 7

Your Human Ability benchmarks look good to me. Also, I really like Fracture, an interesting concept and solid build, PL6 is a good choice for a mutant who is moderately powerful but not a highly trained fighter.

Thank you for saying so. Glad to get some input. I had started out PL 10, but it just made him too powerful for what I wanted to do with him. By the way cool Signature, I had to go there and try it myself.

Character Notes

Age: 24
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 179 lbs
Eyes: Dk. brown
Hair: Brown

Mathew has the ability absorp the energy of others, allowing him to mimic their powers. When he does so , it appears that he takes a breath. And a fine golden mist seems to drift off his target, while his body seems to inhale/absorb the energy.

Mathew was just a normal teenager, down on his luck, a victim of his upbringing. A poor and abusive family, parents who didn't give a crap, so he spent more time away from home and on the streets hanging with his friends.

Mathew became the victim yet again, of a shady corporations experiments. Attempting to create their own super human goons. However when mathew's powers first surface, he quickly absorbed the energy around him from many of the other individuals and escaped. Now he is on the run, one step ahead of of Penumbra.

He has tagged along with a group of misfits called the Drifters. Loosely organized, but connected to people all over the united states creating a network of information and usefulness for people like them.

Question about his Power MImicry: If he can only mimic super human powers, is that worth a limitation?

That depends on the campaign setting. If at least half of the people he encounters gain their powers through some alternate method (technology, magic, training, etc.) than it is worth a Limitation. If almost every opponent has superhuman powers of the type he can copy than no, it is not worth a Limited flaw.

In most campaigns, I would say that metahuman powers was too broad a descriptor for a Limitation. Try something more specific. In the Marvel universe, you could say that he only mimics mutants. In Static Shock, only the bang babies. If you want a Limited flaw, than at least half of your opponents need to be immune to the power, so unless you fight a lot of ninjas, aliens, robots and wizards, you need to find a different flaw.

I would replace either Limited: Metahuman Powers with a smaller group like mutants or with Distracting on Quantum Reduction and Resistible on Quantum Mimicry.

Why do you have Increased Duration 2 on Quantum Reduction? Duration works oddly with Affliction, all a Sustained duration would mean is that once you hit an opponent with the effect, they suffer it again each round as long as you can take a free action each round. They still get a new save each round, and also get to try to overcome any condition they are suffering each round. If you dropped Increased Duration, you would not need the Limited flaw on either power.

Also, do you realize that Copycat can mimic a target's powers even if they successfully resist Quantum Reduction? If that is not what you want, you could add Limited: Quantum Reduced Powers Only to Quantum Mimicry.

So here is what I have. I did what you suggested. I added a limitation, so he cannot mimic technology. I added a limit, so he can only mimic what his Quantum Reduction can reduce. I haven't added the concentration in yet, so I could get any further thoughts on the subject. This gave him an incredible boost to his abilities being a full Rank 10 Mimic. I also forgot to give him a Motivation.

Nice pic for Seraphina.

I like how you have Copycat, but I do have one thing to mention. Copycat has the Hide In Plain Sight advantage but only a +6 total bonus on Stealth. While there is nothing wrong with this, most concepts that wouyld have that Advantage would be a lot more capable at Stealth. Again, nothing wrong with what you have, just not what I would expect. Copycat is an all-around good character that I think would be a lot of fun.

I dropped his powers down one rank, so I had enough points to up his skills and ability scores.
