Distinctive Appearance: Tabaluga's a dragon! And a friendly one at that.
Enemy: Tabaluga has two main enemies who both want him gone for good: Arktos, snowman ruler of the Ice World on Green Land's northern border, and Humsin, the sand spirit who rules the Desert to Green Land's south.
Fame: A lot of people worldwide have heard about Tabaluga, but he's most recognisable by nearly every native German-speaker in Europe.
Homesick: Tabaluga wants to go home to Green Land. He enjoys flying over forests as they remind him of home. And Germany has plenty of forests.
Motivation: Doing Good
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Languages
English, German, Greenlander (Native)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defense
Dodge 10, Parry 10, Fortitude 10, Toughness 8, Will 10
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Points
Abilities 36 + Powers 41 + Advantages 17 + Skills 26 (52 ranks) + Defenses 30 = 150
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabaluga is from a world where there are but three lands: Ice World to the north, where it is always winter, ruled by the snowman called Arktos, who wants the entire world to be covered in ice. To the south, there is an exceptionally dry Desert ruled by a sand spirit calling itself Humsin, who would see his entire world covered in sand.

Both those rulers were arrogant, and they both wanted nothing less than the world being completely covered in snow or sand.

And in the middle is the primarily forested area called Green Land, ruled by the kind dragon Tabaluga, who has spent his life fending off attacks, plots and schemes from the other two lands.

In the Betterverse, Arktos and Humsin formed a plan. They would both cast a ritual to send Tabaluga to another world, making Green Land open for conquest. The rituals worked, dragging Tabaluga and Happy, the snow hare who was his best friend, to another world. But the rituals exacted their price by dragging Arktos and Humsin there as well.

When they landed, they all found themselves in a city that the locals called "Berlin". Arktos and Humsin soon fled for the nearest pole and desert.

Tabaluga and Happy were invited by the TV channel ZDF to become the new hosts for their children's time-slot. This was in 1997. Even now, a couple of years after the show finished broadcasting, they are still well-known all over Europe.

Arktos was last sighted establishing a base in the Arctic Circle, and teaming-up with other villains on occasion.

Humsin's currently in the middle of the Sahara, still trying to figure out why people are calling him an "Efreet" or a "Djinn", whatever those are.

Tabaluga's stats are based on him being in the Betterverse. To make his stats closer to the original albums or the cartoon, remove Expertise: Acting, both non-native languages and Wealth, and use the 7 PP however you see fit.

Hokus & Pokus Occult Curiosities, Greenwich Village...

As Cass entered the shop, she heard a familiar voice saying "Ms. Valentine. Please, enter freely and of your own will."

"Thank you, Madame Xanadu."

"Tell me, why are you here?"

"I want a tarot reading, please."

"This wouldn't have anything to do with the Griffin coming to town, would it? As even I've heard about that fight with Hexenhammer, may a curse be upon his soul."

Madame Xanadu rolls Well-Informed on Griffin's Investigation/Well-Informed table and gets 26. She gets four degrees of success.

"I'm here to see if helping him is a good idea."

"Very well. Daena's on vacation, so you're going to have to read the card's name out loud for me, like you did before. Turning the first card now to represent the Griffin, who shall be the querant."

"The Fool."

"A symbol of madness."

"Griffin told me that he's autistic. That would explain the Fool being drawn."

"The Fool could also mean a method to his madness, and it can also represent someone who's going to truly stir things up. Next card..."

"The Knight of Swords."

"Suggesting a short temper and/or utter fearlessness."

"Both of which he has. The first time he saw a ghost, he didn't flinch at all, and he nearly lost control! Then again, said ghost was trying to sink the ship we were both on at the time."

"Then it was a good thing you two intervened. You would have had to swim for it otherwise. Next card..."

"The Knight of Wands."

"Representing the need to act on instinct in battle and other dangerous situations. Or of the need to give it your all, at all times. Next card..."

"The Ace of Swords."

"Meaning decisive ability or taking an unusual decision."

"It could also refer to the sword I've seen him wield in battle. He can strike ghosts with it like they were solid, and he can swing it at speeds you wouldn't believe. And unlike most 'heroes', he's willing to kill his foes if things are bad enough."

"Next card..."

"The Tower inverted."

"The Lightning-struck Tower?! That quite literally spells disaster! Inversion means that he could exit in a good manner."

"He's currently on the run from the British government. There's a slight chance that he could get out of that mess with his freedom and lack of criminal record intact."

"I see. And finally..."

"The Nine of Cups."

"In the end, something he truly wants or desires will come to pass. To sum it up, I believe that he's in his current situation to gain a certain sort of experience that he needs, developing and leaving his mark wherever he goes. The time is surely coming where he will be involved in a great disaster or a major battle, maybe even both, and finally earn his heart's desire should he successfully deal with it."

"It looks like he really is destined for greatness."

"It certainly seems that way. As for your question, it sounds like you should help him. Who knows, maybe some of that success will come your way."

"I think it already has, Madame. Do you know why Griffin fought Hexenhammer in the first place?"

"No, I'm afraid I don't."

"Long story short, some ponies from another world found themselves in my basement after a teleport spell was apparently mis-cast. Two were normal ponies, two were unicorns and two were pegasi."

"First Contact in your own home! Who would have thought it?"

"True. I alerted Griffin at once. He seemed to get on well with them. One of the unicorns, calling herself Twilight, mentioned having to make the spell to get her friends back. I decided to help them. If they were telling the truth about being lost, it was the right thing to do. If they weren't, then the less they saw of Earth, the better. Griffin offered to take the ponies to Manhattan for a while so I could focus on the ritual. Twilight stayed behind to help with the spell."

"What happened then?"

"Griffin did the tour like he said he would, taking the girls to Central Park. I sent him a text saying that the spell to get them back was ready. He went to Nintendo World for a breather, and that's when the Order raised hell. This morning, I saw closed-circuit footage of Griffin's reaction on the news. Eleven men unconscious and their leader scared stiff in less than a minute. He then alerted me about Hexenhammer. He got the girls back to the Lodge pretty fast after that."

"Then comes the part I've heard of. Griffin killing Hexenhammer while you picked off his minions."

"True. But that's not all. Hexenhammer's soul then went into his hammer, as per usual. Before anyone made a move we all heard a supernaturally loud voice ringing in our heads, telling us to drop our weapons and not to touch the hammer. I asked Griffin if he knew who she was."

"Who did he say it was?"

"That she was his Lady, who brought him back to life. He looked completely scared of her. And this is the man who fought the Akimbo Assassin and won, that I'm talking about here! And this woman just turns up and he's suddenly on the verge of fleeing in panic!"

"I think I know who you mean. Word is that he's been talking to a woman called Celia, who's been giving him some advice. I'm thinking, maybe they're the same woman. Maybe that's how he knows her."

"You're on to something there, I'll tell you why in a minute. So the woman comes in, and not a single ward of mine goes off! I checked them all afterwards, and they were completely untriggered."

"Powerful enough to make your wards non-existent?!" Xanadu whistled.

"I know. And I was still in a rage from the attempt to kill the ponies. I went down the stairs, ready to kick that woman's ass, when Griffin got in my way. He made it quite clear that she wasn't there to hurt them. He reckoned that if his theory was correct, it would be against her interests to hurt them. I managed to calm down a little after that. We went down to the basement where we had everything set up. Before we could do anything, the portal opened from the other side!"

"That is quite surprising indeed."

"You should have seen who came out! This pony was as tall as you or me, she had an unicorn's horn, a pegasus' wings and a mane like the Aurora Borealis! I only knew her intentions weren't hostile when the other ponies got down on four knees before her, with Twilight calling her a princess and being very glad to see her."

"Well, having your ruler take the risk of going to a different world altogether to bring you back would make anyone glad. And a true rarity, in my experience."

"True. The Princess turned to face the woman who Griffin called his Lady, and said 'How are you, Celia?'"

"Then it's obvious that they knew each other before."

"Griffin didn't know that. After Celia introduced us, he reacted by going 'You two actually know each other?!' Celestia said she diverted the teleport spell that Twilight cast, saying that she and Celia wanted to see if ponies and humans could co-exist. Personally, I think it's doable, but both sides need to know more about each other before anything major goes ahead."

"I agree. What did Griffin say next?"

"In the most polite terms he could muster after being involved in a fight to the death, he said that the world can be quite dangerous if you can't adapt, and that he disapproved of her method, mentioning how he'd do it if he was in her position. Celestia told Griffin that nothing meant more to her than the well-being of all her subjects. She said that Celia told her that he could protect the girls if they were in danger, and he just proved her right."

"If you ask me, it looks like they're planning on making both worlds much closer."

"You might be right, Madame. I have to go now. Thanks for the reading."

"Farewell, Cass. May we meet again."

Start Spreadin' The News, Part 4

BBC Office, Sixth Avenue...

As Simon went into the BBC office, the receptionist saw him. Her face went white as she said "I know you! You're the Griffin, aren't you? The one who killed the Akimbo Assassin!"

"Yes. Yes, I am."

"What are you doing here?!"

"Calm down, please. I assure you, I mean you no harm. I have something you should have a look at. I take it you heard about that tour I gave those ponies?"

"I think everyone in the Five Boroughs heard about it!"

"Then I'm certain you'll want to take a look at this. The footage on this DVD is something that I know the BBC haven't got."

"What on Earth would that be?"

"Those ponies. I have footage of their ruler picking them up and taking them home. Give that video to your boss, I've got more where that came from. It's in 1080P MPEG, so you'll need a PC to look at it. And I know this place can make it broadcastable. See you later."

Simon then flew to the News Corp building, which was also on 6th Avenue, taking him less than thirty seconds. He saw from outside that the security was actually strict. There was a manned X-ray scanner and metal detector, and there had to be CCTV as well. He knew that he had to find a way to hide his blade in order to get through without the NYPD, or worse, AEGIS getting involved. He had an idea.

He got his smartphone out and said "My Lady, I wish to speak to you."

Celia's face replaced Simon's on the screen's reflection. She said "Yes, Simon?"

"I'm doing that distribution thing that we talked about yesterday, and one of the offices has high security. I was just wondering if you could look after my sword for a few minutes."

"Certainly. You only need to ask when you want it back." Simon checked and his sword wasn't there anymore.

"Thank you, my Lady."

As Simon entered the building, the guard saw the DVD that he was carrying. She said "May I ask what you have on this, Griffin?"

"Something that I know Fox is going to want. Did you hear about what I got up to yesterday?"

"Beating up several armed goons and saving ponies from another world? Yeah, I heard about that! My cousin sold you and that unicorn a copy of Vogue!"

"I heard Rarity talking about fashion, and I thought that the magazine would be right up her alley. My guess was soon proven correct. Anyway, that DVD has footage of their ruler picking them up and taking them home. I'll just drop it off with the receptionist."

"Fine with me."

So Simon dropped the DVD off, telling the receptionist what was on there, and walked back out.

Next stop: The Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, which had the nearest CNN offices. Took him thirty seconds. When he got inside, he checked the map. 3rd floor: Time Warner World Headquarters. That would be the place to hand the DVD over. He simply flew up there.

Simon then walked right into the Headquarters. He said to the receptionist "I'm the Griffin of London, and have I got news for you!"

The receptionist said "You're not going to start trouble, are you?"

"No chance. I have a DVD for you to show CNN, ma'am. Tell me, have you heard about what I got up to yesterday?"

"I was at Nintendo World at the time. I saw what happened with those gunmen. When you revealed your wings, I was freaking out!"

"Must've been a case of metatremors. It's a rare but natural reaction when something is real, but your mind's not accepting it. They usually happen the first time you actually see superpowers being used near you. For most, it's quite rare for it to occur. The first bout of it is always the worst, but it tends to be less shocking each time, the more you get used to seeing them."

"So I shouldn't worry about it?"

"Not at all, ma'am. But seriously, I have some more footage of those ponies. To be exact, I've got footage of their ruler picking them up and taking them home."

"I'm sure CNN will want that!"

Simon handed over the last DVD and said "Here. It's in 1080P MPEG, but I'm sure they can make it broadcastable. See ya!"

Simon then headed over to the nearest men's bathroom, where he could get some privacy. He went to the nearest mirror and said "My Lady Celia, I've just finished that distribution thing, and I was wondering if I can have the sword back, please?"

He saw a pink whippet in the reflection, who said "Good afternoon, Simon. I'm Annabelle. Mother is a bit busy at the moment. She told me to give you the sword back as soon as you asked. Catch."

Simon grabbed the sword. He unsheathed it, finding that it had been cleaned better than he thought possible. He whistled.

As he put the swordbelt back on, Annabelle then said "I should tell you that the blade's been scheduled for sharpening later today."

"I just hope I don't need to use it until then."

"I hope so, too. I've seen what you're capable of."

"Oh, come on! I've only killed two living people, and I have a rule about that! If you bothered to check, you'll find that everyone I've killed has either already killed another or they would have killed someone if I hadn't intervened."

"I thought you killed four people."

"Captain Blood was already dead before I got to him, and I'm not quite sure about how to describe Hexenhammer, given how he lasted so long. Frankly, if the Lady herself didn't turn up and destroy the hammer, I'm still not sure if I could take him!"

"I see. I can only hope that you don't get involved in any more fights."

"I hope so too, but we don't always get what we want, do we?"

"No, we don't. I have to go now."

"See you later."

Five minutes later...

As Simon crossed the road from Columbus Circle to Central Park, a very large man with a lion's mane and tail, and the wings and claws of an eagle landed in front of him. The man said "So you're the limey asshole who's been calling himself the Griffin."

Simon drew his sword, saying "Yeah, I am. What about it?"

"The name's Johnny Horton, and I'M the Griffin! You're stealing my name, damn it!"

Start Spreadin' The News, Conclusion

11 AM EST, Central Park

Simon said to Johnny "I stole your name?! I didn't even know it was taken! And you really think you can scare me? I've actually seen sheep that are scarier than you!" He then slapped Johnny with his sword! Johnny clawed at Simon, clouting him in the face.
Johnny gets 20 on Intimidation, but Simon is Fearless. Simon Taunts and only gets 8, while Johnny gets 19 and resists. Roll Initiative! Simon gets 21, Johnny gets 13. Simon gets 2 HP; one for being there and for civilians in the area. Johnny gets 2 HP; One for being there and one for the more personal motive of someone else using his alias. Neither of them are using lethal force, Simon because he's right outside the CNN office, and traumatised media don't broadcast your name and face in a good light and Johnny because he simply wants to beat Simon into submission.

Simon draws Justice, then he Charges and deals an All-Out Power Attack at Johnny with the Storm of Steel. He gets 28, crit scored! He ups the DC to 35 (including Multiattack bonus). Johnny gets 22, getting hit and Dazed! Johnny does his own All-Out Power Attack at Simon, getting 29 and hitting. Simon gets 18 and is hit.

Simon: 1 Injury. Johnny: 1 Injury, Dazed.

Simon then slashed at Johnny, keeping him at bay.
Simon attacks with Storm of Steel and gets 22. Johnny gets a Natural 1. He spends a HP and gets a Natural 20, completely resisting it. Johnny attacks and gets 23. Simon gets 14, then spends a HP to get 27, resisting it completely.

Johnny: 1 HP.

Simon then lands another blow on Johnny's head! And was hit in the chest as a result.
Simon uses the Storm of Steel and gets 28, crit scored! He raises the DC to 35 (Including Multattack Bonus). Johhny gets 23 and is hit & Dazed! Johnny attacks Simon, getting a Natural 1! He spends a HP and gets 19. Simon gets 16 to resist, spends a HP and gets 22 and is hit and Dazed.

Simon: 1 HP, 2 Injuries, Dazed. Johnny: 0 HP, 2 Injuries, Dazed.

Simon proceeded to break one of Johnny's left ribs with a satisfying crunch.
Simon attacks and gets 29, Crit scored! He raises the DC by 5 Johnny gets 15 and is hit and Staggered! Johnny gets 11 and misses Simon.

Johnny: 3 Injuries, Staggered.

He then broke one of Johnny's right ribs with another satisfying crunch.
Simon attacks and gets 26, crit scored! He raises the DC by 5. Johnny gets 11 and is now Incapacitated! Fight's Over!

As Johnny fell, Simon went "I didn't know that the Griffin name was taken, Johnny. I think I'll keep it. After all..." He then stamped on Johnny's chest saying "What are you going to do about it?" He took a photo of Johnny, then he called the police, telling them to bring an ambulance.

6 PM BST, The Guardhouse, Golders Green, London...

Michael Cohen, known to most as the Golem, was watching Sky News HD in the lounge when he pressed the red button. When the menu loaded, he selected the option 'Ponies from another world'. Then he shouted "Everyone come quick! You have to see this!"

Dr. Green said "What is it, Michael?"

"The Griffin's made the news again! And you won't believe what he's done this time!"

Everyone ran over, and saw the video that the Griffin and Ms. Magus had made.

Sakura went "I don't believe it! Those two actually proved that unicorns and pegasi really exist!"

6.15 PM BST, Ministry of Powers, Whitehall...

Troy Griffin, the head of the Ministry of Powers, is having a discussion with Agent Jill Benbow in his office.

"Tell me, have you seen that new video of his?"

"I saw it on YouTube just before you called me in, sir. I'd bet it was just sheer luck that the ponies landed - for lack of a better term - at Ms. Magus's house. The same-day TV broadcasts, high-definition YouTube uploads and torrenting are consistent with a successful self-publishing attempt."

"So we're dealing with someone who can move fast, knows how to get organised quickly, knows the value of propaganda and puts up a major fight at the drop of a hat. Is there any other Griffin footage that you know of?"

"There's some of Griffin and Ms. Magus returning to Queen Mary 2 after they set out to destroy Captain Blood. And she was at full capacity at the time, sir. They must have beaten him quite handily, as they were both able to fly back unaided. That's just under 3,900 people still alive because of them. Assuming that it's legitimate - and neither of them strikes me as the sort to stage it - that's an entire town's worth of witnesses who'd gladly call them okay. Given how much it costs to sail on Queen Mary 2, some of those passengers are likely to be quite influential. And wouldn't you tell your friends and family about the angel and the magician who saved you from a ghostly pirate attack?"

"You're right, I would if I was there. Agent Benbow, I am personally assigning you to keep an eye on the Griffin. We might have need of him."

"I understand, sir."

Griffin gets 1 PP. He spends it on 2 extra ranks of Penetrating for the Armour-Piercing Strike (I checked on Hero Lab, and it's acceptable with Justice's current build). He also raises the Storm of Steel AP to Damage Rank 7.

Charlotte White was walking home one day when she was seized by something... unknown. She was blindfolded, bound, gagged and covered with something she didn't know the feel of. When she woke up in a near-empty warehouse, the first thing she saw was a mirror. When she stopped screaming, she saw that someone left a portable DVD player with a note saying "Play this to find out what happened to you."

When she played it, she saw someone who looked like what she was now. A woman with the lower body of a giant spider. She then explained that Charlotte was now a drider, just like her. The woman said that it wasn't anything personal, but driders could only reproduce by transforming others into more of their kind.

The second to last thing the woman said was how to assume human form again, and how to assume her new true form. The last thing the woman said was how to turn someone into a drider if she ever had a need to.

Charlotte was wondering what to do with herself when she bumped into Dr. Green. The kind doctor heard her story and soon recruited her, giving her a new handle - Spindle. Spindle has since become the team's stealth expert.

Jack O'Connor got a bit too curious at his uncle Michael's birthday party, and found the Eagle's Wings. Michael only found out about the Wings being stolen at all when the news showed Jack wearing the harness.

When Michael demanded to know what the hell Jack was thinking, Jack said "The second I saw the harness, I knew that I found my purpose. This is the best chance I'll ever have of my life having any meaning, and we both know it!"

That was two months ago. Jack has been recently thinking about whether or not to try becoming part of the Freedom League...

When Langston Albright (Beacon) died, the forces of Light looked for the closest person who was worthy of their power. They found one Ray Jacobs, who specialised in underground mediation. As in, he helps the various factions of Freedom City settle matters peacefully when they don't want the law involved.

Given the size of the usual egos he has had to contend with, this is far from the easiest job he could undertake. But when the treaties work, there's less general violence, meaning less collateral damage, which means that you can walk the streets of Freedom City in peace.

When Ray was empowered, he figured that he was in one hell of a position. He could continue his mediation of the hidden parts of the city, and as the Lightbearer he could expose or take down the worse threats to the city.

Fame/Reputation: As the leader of the Neo-Nazi band, Third Generation.
Motivation: Destiny: Blitz believes that Nazism's time has finally come again.
Prejudice: As a Neo-Nazi, Blitz hates other races, especially Jews. She'll focus her attacks on any Jewish opponent she sees, even when it would put her at a disavantage.
Rivalry: With Choke Chain, the left-wing anarchist who leads the rival band, Sissy Cyst. Their run-ins never end well. In the Betterverse, Blitz also has a rivalry with the German hero Geselle (Journeyman), who is the only speedster in the country who can actually keep up with her.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason Blitz calls her band 'Third Generation' was due to her mother (who indoctrinated her into Nazi beliefs) telling her about a very little-known prophecy that Hitler himself had made before committing suicide. It translates along the lines of: "The salvation of the Aryan people, and of the world itself, will not come from contemporary Nazis, or even their children, but from the rise of the Third Generation." Eva knew there and then that her time was surely coming. It's from that prophecy where the inspiration came for Blitz to name her Euro-punk skinhead band "Third Generation."

The band’s name hearkened back to Hitler’s final words, which in the decades since they were uttered had become a sort of mantra for disaffected European Aryan youth. In a Europe plagued with difficult economic times and massive job losses to non-white immigrants from Africa and elsewhere, Third Generation became incredibly popular and served as the "voice of a generation," so to speak.

It didn't matter that Neo-Nazism was illegal in Germany. Nor was the fact that anything to do with it was equally censored. By fusing Eva’s natural charisma, stunning good looks, and alluring fashion sense with powerful chord progressions and clever (if really offensive) lyrics, Third Generation blitzed through the Scandinavian and East European charts, becoming an overnight sensation so popular that radio and television stations could not afford to ban the group from the airwaves. Third Generation even had the most pirated music downloads for a time, in countries where it was censored.

When the band performed their first North American tour, the left-wing anarchist known as Choke Chain took the largest GAN (Global Anarchy Now!) cell consisting of every GAN member she knew of with her to crash the New York concert. It sparked a major riot which required every cape in NYC to contain. The tour was cancelled, and Blitz went back to Germany.

Back in Germany, Blitz had decided to only perform underground concerts. The first concert was cancelled due to the musical equipment going missing. It turned out to be due to another speedster known as Geselle (Journeyman) for the traditional journeyman's costume he is usually seen wearing. Geselle had made it a point to screw-up Neo-Nazi operations of any sort wherever he can, figuring that jacking the equipment and selling it elsewhere would dent Third Generation's influence. Since then, Blitz makes a point of reaching as many people as possible through her music while Geselle tries (and succeeds more often than not) to shut her down.

Danger in the Docklands, Part 1

Midnight, Millennium Mills, Newham, London...

Faceoff had overheard in The Spieler earlier that evening that something was arranged to go down here. Word has it that an American gang was looking for recruits and defectors from the local crews in order to establish a base of operations in London.

He saw that there was one of those big American RVs painted purple with a fleur-de-lys on the side parked inside the gate.

The 3rd Street Saints! Faceoff thought. Of all the known gangs and syndicates out there, the Saints are among the most successful, with their 'Planet Saints' stores across North America spreading the concept of 'Crime is Cool'. It looked like there were just two people inside the RV. Just two? Bloody idiots. And they will be bloody if I have anything to say about it.
Faceoff does a DC 10 Streetwise check and gets 22, getting a HP for his Justice complication (He knows what the Saints are doing here, and he doesn't like it). He then does a DC 10 Perception check and gets 23. He knows that there are just two Thug minions inside. They have Heavy Pistols and Bulletproof Vests, and their "Choose One" skill is Ranged Combat: Guns.

Faceoff then snuck up to the back of the RV and drew his knife, ready to rock. He heard an American East Coast accent say "The toilet ain't connected, so I'm gonna go outside to take a leak, OK?"

Another voice said "Don't forget your radio. What if the Boss wants us?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."
Faceoff rolls Stealth and gets 24. The two Criminals get 5 and Natural 1 on their Perception.

As soon as the Saint turned toward Faceoff, Faceoff slashed the Saint's throat, stabbing him there a few times for good measure. He then wiped the blood off the knife with some paper tissue (He would always burn the tissue when he got home), then he drew his silenced pistol.
Faceoff Surprises the Thug. Roll Initative! Faceoff gets 17, the Thug gets 7. Faceoff does an All-Out Power Attack getting 23. The Thug gets a Natural 1 and is dead before he can raise the alarm. Fight's Over.

Faceoff walked in and quickly put the gun to the other Saint's head, going "If you don't want to die in vain like your 'friend' just did, you'll tell me what the f**k the Saints are doing in London!"

"Don't shoot, please!" The Saint begged. "The Boss said that it was time to expand out of North America!"
Faceoff tries to Coerce the thug into talking, and gets 28 on Intimidation. The Thug gets 18 on his Will roll, and is coerced.

"Why London?"

"We both speak English, don't we?"

"Britain will never be easy pickings for scum like you!"

That was when the Saint's radio said "Larry, has anyone arrived yet?"

End of Part One

Hans Schmidt is a metahuman who sparked up on his 18th birthday. Hans spent two years and a day studying electrical and electronic engineering on the Walz (A journeyman's wandering years), which was much improved by his super-speed, as he worked for masters all across the country. For example, he would work in Hamburg for three months, and when it was time to leave, he'd be in München (Munich) within the hour. To date, he is the only journeyman of his generation who has never had to hitch a ride.

By the time his Walz was finished, every German had heard of this record-breaking - and in-demand - journeyman. Including the Deutsch Schutz Liga, Germany's top superteam. The Liga offered Geselle a position in their group, which he gladly accepted. It was also during this time that he learned of a Neo-Nazi speedster calling herself Blitz.

Geselle has since made a point of doing everything in his power to lessen her influence, and that of her band, Third Generation.

Danger in the Docklands, Conclusion

The radio said "Larry, are you there?"

Faceoff told Larry "Answer them. Tell them that no-one's come yet."

Larry got on the radio, saying "I'm fine, Joe, just had to clear my throat, is all. No-one else has arrived so far. Everything here's still cool."

"Got it, out."

When the radio stopped, Faceoff said "Wasn't hard at all, was it?"

"You just made me betray the 3rd Street Saints! They find out, a bullet'll be the least of my worries!"

"I knew that you were going to expand, I didn't think that it would be this soon. Go now, and I'll say I killed you."

As Larry opened the door, Faceoff blew his brains out. That was when he saw six more Saints coming at him.

One of them shouted "He killed Larry! Get the son of a bitch!"

Faceoff only spent five seconds to kill four Saints. One bullet in the head each, no fuss. The fifth of them managed to shoot back, but hit the RV instead.
Roll Initiative! Faceoff gets 27, the five Thug Minions get between 3-15. Faceoff gets another HP for being involved in combat. The Thugs all have Bulletproof Vests, Heavy Pistols and their "Choose One" Skill set to Ranged Combat: Guns.

Faceoff attacks with the Pistol behind Partial Cover, attempting to hit all five as quickly as possible. Faceoff takes 10 on each Thug. The first Thug gets 16, meaning that he's dead and Faceoff's Takedown is now active! Faceoff immediately hits the next Thug. The second Thug gets 12 and is killed. Next, Faceoff shoots the third Thug, who gets 16 and dies. Fourth shot has that Thug getting 13 and dying. And the last Thug got 21 and survived. Takedown has ended. The last Thug shoots at Faceoff, getting 14 and missing. Faceoff proceeded to head-shot the last Saint before switching over to his assault rifle. Faceoff took 10 on the thug, who got a Natural 1.

The surviving leader of the crew snorted something and slowly changed into a hulking monstrosity, roaring "It's our time now! Let's get this shit started!" Faceoff had enough time before the transformation completed to ready his M4 and blast the brute.
The crew leader's stats are those of the Gang Leader archetype with Close Combat: Unarmed 4 (+5) and Close Combat: Knife 4 (+5). He draws his knife and takes a shot of an experimental super-drug, getting Enhanced Stamina 6, Enhanced Strength 5, Growth 4 and Leaping 3. He loses the Leather Jacket due to suddenly being too big for it. Faceoff readies his Assault Rifle. Roll Initiative! Faceoff gets 18 and the Gang Leader gets 15. They both get a HP each, and are both using lethal force. Faceoff fires the Assault Rifle and gets 27, triggering the +5 Multiattack bonus. The Gang Leader gets 15 and is hit and Dazed. The Gang Leader then jumps toward Faceoff.

Gang Leader: 1 Injury, Dazed.

The hulking Saint jumped towards Faceoff, who couldn't aim in time.
Faceoff fires the Assault Rifle at the Gang Leader, getting 23, triggering the +5 Multiattack bonus. The Gang Leader gets 26, resisting it. Gang Leader spends a HP to overcome being Dazed and then gets 19 to attack and misses.

Gang Leader: 1 HP.

Faceoff dived out of the way, and outflanked the hulking Saint, giving him room for another burst.
Faceoff fires and gets 29, triggering +5 Multiattack. Gang Leader gets 19, and is hit and Dazed. Gang Leader gets 10 to attack and misses.

Gang Leader: 2 Injuries, Dazed.

Faceoff barely dodged the lumbering Saint, sending a burst through his kneecap in return.
Faceoff fired at the Saint and got a Natural 20, +5 Multiattack and crit (+5 DC) scored! Gang Leader gets 9, spends his last HP, gets 18, so he's hit and Staggered. Gang Leader attacks Faceoff and gets 21. Faceoff gets 12, spends a HP and gets 29 to resist.

Faceoff: 2 HP. Gang Leader: 0 HP, 3 Injuries, Staggered.

Faceoff manoeuvred into position...
Faceoff gets 24 (+2 Multiattack) to hit. Gang Leader gets Natural 20 and resists. Gang Leader attacks, getting 16 and missing.

... and blew the Saint's brains out!
Faceoff gets 28 (+5 Multiattack) to hit. Gang Leader gets 13 and is killed by taking two Staggering blows! Fight's Over!

Given what little was left of the Saint's head, Faceoff only looked long enough to confirm the kill. He then made his way out, to a side street where he stashed his bike and smartphone. He knew that this had to get out. He went on the Time in A Bottle site:

Code: Select all

Priority Message: 3rd Street Saints Sighted in London!

I encountered them at midnight when I was following up on something I overheard at one of my favourite rumour mills.

Said rumour was an American gang expanding into Britain who were looking for recruits and defectors wanting a better deal. I decided to see what was what, when I saw this big RV painted purple with a gold-edged fleur-de-lys on each side.

The colours and symbol of the Saints. I certainly wasn't going to let them spread their idea that crime was somehow 'cool'.

I ended up killing a whole crew's worth of Saints, with the last one taking a shot of some new superdrug, turning him into a monster. I barely managed to kill him with the new M4 I got to replace the one that the Knight wrecked when I killed Stone Cold Luke. If they're dealing that drug, I'm a bit worried for London. No, I didn't see their Boss, and I would've taken a shot if I did.

I'll be at the pub at 7 tonight to discuss the Saints.

Faceoff gets 1 PP. He puts it into Ranged Combat: Guns. His attack bonus with all three firearms of his is now +12.
