Re: Prodigy Duck 3e Builds (Radioactive Man, Rattler)

I'm liking the current run of builds PD, but I have one question...and it isn't meant to be snarky or smartass, since many builders have different ideas about character development. So here goes;

Your Radioactive Man build is PL8 and your Thor build is PL13, but back in his "Titanic Three" days, Chen Lu was capable of generating a field that would deflect Thor's hammer...something not real likely with the difference in power between these builds...so, in your mind, has Thor grown that much more powerful or has Chen lost power or a combination of the two? Just curious.

I think it's canon that Thor holds back a lot to avoid destroying the surrounding continent.

I certainly assume there has been some amount of power buildup with Thor over the years. I have the Essential Thor #1 and have read the first appearance of Radioactive Man. Thor was actually weaker at the time, and was granted some additional powers by Odin after their first encounter. So I am assuming Thor was something like PL 10 at the time of their meeting, and did not strike quite as hard. Plus, yes, Thor is always aware of those around him; and there were several people in the area watching the battle. So I assume Thor was holding back for the protection of the bystanders.

That being said, I have done my best to remain faithful to the characters as conversions from the FASERIP system. And based on the notes I have devised, this is where these two characters fall, in regards to PL.

When the training was complete, he was sent into space. However, faulty Russian engineering caused his rocket to continue into space beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

The capsule was caught in the gravity well of the moon, where it crashed near the Blue Area. Here, Ivan and his apes discovered the hidden city of the Celestials. Using discovered stores of Terrigen Mist, Ivan transformed his ape crewmen into super-apes. He had hoped to use their powers to build a ship which could return to Earth. Unfortunately, Ivan died soon afterwards from internal injuries. The apes continued to live, as the Terrigen Mists had given them longevity.

Ivan’s anger and frustration kept him in existence. He arose as a ghost. He continues to command the super-apes in hopes of learning the secrets of the Celestials.
