Quirk (Engulf)- Webwing IS the Snare. When he grapples people, he could be injured by a successful escape attempt if it was enacted with enough force (or a sharp object).

Total: Abilities: 34 / Skills: 16--8 / Advantages: 12 / Powers: 75 / Defenses: 14 (143)

-Webwing looks kinda like a Darkmantle from "Dungeons & Dragons". He's one of the most inventive Guardsmen, being a creepy squid-looking guy (gender neutral, but I'll use 'he' because the alternative is kinda gross) who jumps up behind guys and Snares them with his tentacles out in a big 'net' form, at which point he begins drugging them with natural narcotics released through his skin. He nearly caught both Shadowcat & Jean Grey at different points, but both used their unique traits (Phasing & Telepathy) to deal with the threat soon enough. Webwing's very limited to his one attack, but is handy enough to be good in a team situation, giving one character trouble while his teammates take care of the other players.

Edit- Added a bit of the "Engulf" 2e Extra onto Webwing to showcase how his Snare works- he can keep a guy snared for a good while, but successive attacks on it from any source will hurt him.

I am pretty sure he's using some kind of Magnetic Attack on that hammer there, but yikes- the dude just cracked open the Universal Weapon.

-Electron is a frequently-seen Guardsman, being one of the clearly Shi'ar members, with a pretty decent generic power-set. He takes on a leaderly role in most stories that don't involve Gladiator (ie. ones that want to give the heroes a reasonable chance of victory), and seems pretty noble and good compared to many of the somewhat-aggressive members of his team. Unusual in that he takes more after Lightning Lad than Cosmic Boy (his Magnetic stuff usually just comes across as power stunts of his main power), even though there already IS a Lightning Lad-Expy on his team.

-Solar Wind was created by Mark Gruenwald as a semi-recurring space foe of Quasar II, having joined the Imperial Guard at some point. He was a generic Blaster-themed guy who didn't have much else to him (even a Legion counterpart!), and he vanished pretty much when The Gru stopped writing comics (ie. died). So there's not many appearances on the guy, and it's assumed he's been recalled to some podunk world of oddly-caucasian aliens while the important members fly around. To me, his rather ununspired design looks oddly like Kyle Rayner, to the point of resembling a parody of him... except that Kyle Rayner debuted in 1994, TWO YEARS AFTER Solar Wind first showed up.

-Simple Blaster, not many points spent, since he's a rarely-seen one-note guy with a single decent power, undeserving of being more dangerous than your average New Mutant, despite being able to survive in space. Not bad as back-up in a fight, but one on one against Quasar and he's toast.

-Plutonia's one of the most common modern-day recruits of the Imperial Guard, debuting during the Morrison/Quitely era and, based off of her unique appearance, actually stuck around later (whereas most of the others were easily beaten and quickly forgotten), and ended up dating Smasher, then getting a crush on Mentor (who has less of a tendency to die in every story). She mixes and matches various powers similar to The Vision, which makes her quite useful in battle. I'm not sure if she has a Stamina score, can survive in space on her own, or just wears armor to gain these powers, since like most of these guys, she just shows up in panels here or there, but here she is anyways.

-Neutron started life as "Quasar", before Wendell Vaughn ever took the name, giving us a common problem with a team of thirty throwaway one-shot designs: just throwing names out there, you end up with more than a couple that are really good, and worth stealing. Renamed to Neutron, he's sorta like Star Boy in design (starfield costume), but shares none of his powers, being a Flying Brick who's a bit of a musclehead. He was booted off the Guard at one point (he betrayed Lilandra for her sister Deathbird), but returned because someone pretty much forgot about all that. He's one of the cooler-looking, and thus highly-recurring, members of the Imperial Guard. So much so, that when he was killed by Vulcan, he was soon replaced by a fellow Stygian with the exact same look.

-Neutron's a Flying Brick in stats, with a few side-powers. He can drain the power of Quasar II's energy constructs, fly under his own power, and is basically a Life Support Space Guy on top of things. He's not very fancy in combat, but he'll get the job done. Note that he "Absorbs energy to boost his strength", but I'm pretty sure that's just a fluff description for how strong he normally is, absorbing energies from the atmosphere or whatever. Another note is that he was weak enough to be KO'd by Wolverine's bare fists in his first appearance, though it seems he's later on been shown as more durable.

-Earthquake's actually pretty good. A geokinetic in an era that didn't have many of them, he KOed Storm once, and has generally more useful showings than 90% of the Imperial Guard whenever they show up. Also, he's one of their more visible members, being a big ugly rock dude. His build is a combo of Density and Earth Control, mainly being PL 9.5 on offense (his "Debris Blast" is PL 9.5) but for his powerful Trip. He's quite handy in a team fight, rather durable (though not beyond the likes of non-powered people to knock out cold), but lacks Advantages desperately. If he was more well-rounded, he'd be a terrific hand, but he's just a basic, limited team guy at this point. He was seemingly-killed by Vulcan.

-Astra's one of those rare Guardsmen that's actually SUPERIOR in combat to her Legion counterpart. Phantom Girl is JUST a "Phaser" archetype, entirely useful only in escaping things and spying on people. Astra, on the other hand, is full-on as powerful as Shadowcat or Vision in their phased states; able to mess with people by partially solidifying inside of them. That's the kind of benefit you get when you're a Marvel-based Phaser. She's reasonably skilled as she's been shown quite a bit, and is likely one of the smarter members of the Imperial Guard. I like the outfit, too- you don't see alot of women with the "Furry sleeves" costume choice, and the pigtails make her stand out.

-One of the more useful Guardsmen due to her Telepathic powers, Oracle is nonetheless pretty reliant on her teammates, since she has little in the way of defensive power. Her Stun is really good, but the rest of her is horribly vulnerable to attack. I do like the pastel look of her costume though- it's very stand-out and bizarre. Avoid the '90s versions, as they tend to have obvious '90s hair and mohawks and crap for whatever reason.

I really like Webwing. I wasn't familiar with him. Should his close snare have the side effect limitation of him being damaged from any attempts to break the snare? He definitely reminds me of a Darkmantle. I didn't realize how many Imperial Guard members there are.

Possibly- I'm a bit iffy on how to stat up the old "You ARE the Snare" Engulf thing from 2e other than just casually mentioning it. Maybe a Complication would be best. Actually, the whole "Sustained/Feedback" thing might work, too.

Total: Abilities: 58 / Skills: 36--18 / Advantages: 18 / Powers: xx / Defenses: 9 (103)

-The Death Commandos were created by Chris Claremont & Chris Bachalo to essentially be a "90s X-Villain team", ie. a bunch of random designs off of the artist's sketch pad that were abruptly given some kewl names and one-note powers and thrown out there to compete against the X-Men for a single story arc. They attacked Rachel Grey, killing off almost the entirety of the Grey family (yes, Marvel wanted Jean dead SO BAD that they wiped out her entire family, too).

Offset- PL 10 (124): Strength 6, Stamina 6, Fighting 12, Senses 3 (Acute & Extended Scent, Radius Sight), "Four Arms" Extra Limbs 2, "Mandibles" Strength-Damage +2, Equipment (Blades +2) [21]
-A Praying Mantis-looking chick who also used Blades.
Warshot- PL 10 (117): Fighting 12, Agility 6, Dexterity 7, Ranged Attack 7, Soldier 10 (+11) [15]
-Warshot is an elite Gunfighter/Soldier guy with an anime-esque helmet. He jobbed more than most of his buddies, being prone to having his bullets deflect off of stuff, then getting nailed from the side by another hero.
Flaw- PL 10 (150): Strength 8, Stamina 8, Morph 4 (Any Form), Concealment 1 (Detect True Shape), Shapeshift 1 [47]
-Flaw is a highly-powerful "Warskrull" with cybernetic ehancements, and has all the usual Skrull stuff on top of a powerful body.
Devo- PL 10 (133): Snare 10 (Flaws: Non-Cumulative) (Diminished Range -1) Linked to Blast 5 (D.Range -1) Linked to Weaken Toughness 10 (Extras: Ranged, Affects Objects) (D.Range -1), AE: Force Field 6 (Extras: Affects Others, Ranged) [58]
-Devo has a unique little ability which basically combines "Trapping Guys Inside of Energy" with "Flesh-Eating Gas", basically a big Linked Attack. Despite his cool powers, he has been easily thumped by a number of X-Men, thanks to his comparative defensive weaknesses (PL 7 Defensively).
Hypernova- PL 9 (147): Agility 6, Ranged Attack 3, Blast 9 Linked to Weaken Toughness 8 (Extras: Affects Objects, Ranged) [44]
-Hypernova is a standard Blaster who can also dissolve stuff (kinda like her teammate, actually). She's actually quite the lil' scantily-clad jobber, having no wins to her name. She's been beaten by Psylocke, Nightcrawler and more.
Shell- PL 10 (138): Strength 11, Fighting 8, Agility 0, No Stamina, Growth 6, Elongation 2, Protection 5 (Extras: Impervious 9), "Expel Rocks" Blast 10, AE: "Entrapment" Snare 10 (Flaws: Touch Range) [35]
-Your basic "Big Strong Rocky Dude", Shell could expel rocks just like Santo of the "Young X-Men".
Krait- PL 9 (125): Strength 7, Stamina 7, Fighting 11, "Wings" Flight 6 (120 mph) (Flaws: Winged) [22]
-An unspeaking bird-like alien with a cool name, but little feats in combat other than flying through a Sentinel's head once.

-Blackloak is the leader of the Death Commandos, and is generally pretty competent- these guys have a TON of Disintegration-based attacks, for some reason. What is this, the '90s all over again? Did I forget my neon shoelaces and backwards pants? This guy was a pretty awful person though, killing a lot of Rachel & Jean Grey's family members, but he got his in the end, being killed by one of Rachel's Telekinetic Bursts.

-Colony's a fun little guy, though pretty much like Swarm (making building him pretty easy)- he's a sentient colony of flesh-eating insects, making him pretty hard to kill.
