Janus Island

Janus Island
Built through collaborative effort of various criminal organizations, Janus Island is a haven for criminals. An artificial island, concealed by some of the most advanced tech in existence and constantly on the move; it is funded and provided resources through front companies and groups by the likes of the newly expanded Crime League, The Labyrinth, SHADOW, and even Dr. Sin. A private retreat for criminals to rest and recover after suffering defeat at the hands of superheroes and authorities, it is so much more.

The facilities are outfitted with some of the most advanced rehab centers and healing tanks, reducing recovery time from days, weeks or months laid up to mere hours, days or weeks at most. Available facilities include spas, gymnasiums, top of the line medical care, as well as room and board as needed. Even henchmen can benefit from the facilities.

There is another side to the island, one that provides change and rebirth, at a price. Advanced gene sequencing chambers are capable of performing great change. From turning henchmen into superhuman threats; altering appearance, even exotic changes or gender; and biological/genetic-based powers and abilities can be altered or even increased.

One aspect, known only to the higher-ups and those funding the island, is complete mental reprograming; for henchmen who have failed too many times; traitors too useful to dispose of; even kidnapped superheroes turned into perfect agents. Mental reprogramming can be done separately or as part of any physical changes performed.

Complications
Motivation: Detonator is driven by a need to live the high life, not caring who gets hurt as long as he gets paid. His love of explosions also drives him to seek work.
Obsession: He loves explosions and working with explosives, driven by a strange desire to see things blow up.
Reputation: Any who know of Detonator know he is a ruthless psycho who blows people and buildings up. Only his employers know the truth behind his attacks.

History: Frank always had a curious need to see things explode, watching fireworks, movies, anything with an explosion in it. His parents tried to turn his interest to more constructive area but nothing worked. His grandfather owning a fireworks factory did little to help, as he spoiled the boy with gifts. His police officer father, one of the finest in Freedom City, couldn’t understand where his interest came from.

But strangest of all was when he joined the police academy, working til he could join the bomb squad. His love of explosions drove him to create his own bombs at home. But after years on the job his corruption caught up to him, too many bits and pieces of bombs from previous cases going missing and him being the prime suspect. The search of his home put a nail in the coffin of his career, fired from the force and banned from joining any other police force.

With his life in shambles, he took to the road and ended up moving to New York, his record following everywhere he went. So it was more than coincidence that he found himself wandering Central Park and thinking about what to do with his life, when what would become known as “The Gene Pulse” happened. And it hit him hard, as he began to burn up, collapsing from an intense fever.

3 years in a coma and his body had undergone changes, becoming larger, denser and stronger. But the biggest change came when he woke up and found out how much time had passed, freaking out and triggering a new power. A vase of flowers nearby detonated and left the room a wreck, as security showed up he fled for his life and went back to his home town. With no way to prove his identity after the changes he underwent, he was shocked when a local business owner approached him.

Jonathan Grant, owner of Grant Conglomerates, had kept tabs on Frank since his firing from the police force, seeing him as a possible asset in the future. He knew of the changes and powers Frank now possessed and knew the perfect job for the wanted man. Hiding behind a mask and costume, he would become a mercenary for hire, potential employers contacting him through Mr. Grant.

And thus the ruthless Detonator came to be, hired mostly for sabotage and assassinations. But a recent job will come back to haunt him, one which Mr. Grant didn’t give him all the details on…

Description: Formerly an average guy at 5’9” and 150 lbs. with a strong build, the “Gene Pulse” changed him. He now stands at an impressive 6’2” with a large, muscular build, heavier still thanks to dense muscle structure and tissue. He keeps his black hair trim and short so his mask can fit, while his blue eyes are normally hidden behind the white lens of built into his mask.

He has never been seen outside of his costume except by a few people since his transformation; Detonator wears a black costume with red on the end of the gloves he straps down, sleeves, trim on the outside of his shoulder pads, a multi-arrowed symbol on his chest and the gas mask/rebreather built into his mask.

Personality: Frank is a selfish individual, caring only for himself and his own comfort and enjoyment. He takes jobs to gain funds to fuel his lifestyle, along with coming up with new explosives. But his true love is to see things explode, whether objects or living beings. He doesn’t really care who he hurts, as long as he can avoid getting locked up for it.

Powers and Abilities: Detonator was changed by the “Gene Pulse”, his strength increased to low-level superhuman and making him tough enough to take rifle fire and remain unharmed. But his main ability is the power to cause inanimate matter to detonate with incredible force, no matter the size of the object detonated. His main form is to cause a single object he can see to explode in a big blast which can harm or kill everyone within range. A less used tactic is the power to detonate small objects near someone to harm only those he chooses to, able to affect many targets at once.

He is an explosives expert and uses his wealth to purchase supplies as needed to build new ones. Normally funneled through a front company of Jonathan Grant’s.

Tactics: Detonator will always use his strong detonation to try and insure his target is taken out, unless details of his job require more precision. When precision is needed, he uses controlled detonation of small objects near his target[s] to take them out. Only when forced to does he resort to hand-to-hand combat, still able to hold his own fairly well against even low-level superhumans and police forces. He is a straight-up brawler with no formal training.

Allies: Detonator is hired through Jonathan Grant, who is also a regular employer for dirty work. Some of his past clients may help him out of trouble, but he doesn’t count on it.

Enemies: More than he can count at this time, authorities consider him a terrorist and assassin for his attacks on both individuals and businesses. The Freedom League keeps an eye out for him whenever it is suspected he is in town. Foreshadow has tangled with him more than once.

Complications
Motivation: Shadowstrike wishes to see justice done, both for the victims and the criminals. She will bend or even break the law if needed to see justice done.

Responsibility: She has to split her time between school, training, her new friends and her own plans.
Youth: Despite being old enough to drive, she is still a teenager and there are things she can’t do, stuff she can’t purchase and places she won’t be allowed in.

Notes
:arrow: An unusual crime fighter type, who gained most of her skills from a device imprinting them directly into her brain. Yet her technological skills and inventive prowess are her own, she always has some sort of extra gadget on her when she goes out.

History: Joy was born to a pair of geniuses, scientists specializing in neuroscience. And they taught her many things growing up, focusing on her studies and mental development over physical activities most of the time. And she loved it, learning how things worked and new ways of doing things was like a game to her, even her mistakes became lessons to learn from.

Despite her parents working a lot, she never felt neglected or unloved. As everyone at the labs saw her as a little mascot, a cute kid who could always uplift their day. But her parents’ newest piece of work was being kept on lockdown, an advanced device which could implant skills directly into the brain. Something they hoped could help stroke patients and those with amnesia to relearn basic skills. But others saw it as more, much more.

Offered an obscene amount of money for the “Mind Imprinter” by Grant Conglomerates, they rejected his offer without a second glance. But a week later something else left them distracted from their work. Joy was visiting the lab and somehow the lockdown “Top Secret” area was open and she went in to investigate. Only to be knocked over and into the “Mental Imprinter” chamber, right as it was activating for a test run of the power system! Her mind couldn’t take it, as she was imprinted with athletic skills, acrobatics, advanced martial arts and stealth skills all at once.

Her parents found her and rushed her to the hospital, as she has slipped into a coma. The doctors promising they would do all they could, her parents left in tears, fearing their own creation had lost them their daughter. But as they got into their car it exploded without warning! Both were dead in instant, onlookers filming the scene with camera phones. By the time Joy woke up a week later, authorities had already identified a figure in the background of one cell phone pic, the known assassin and terrorist Detonator.

An even bigger shock came as her parents’ lab allowed Grant Conglomerates to buy the prototype and plans for the “Mind Imprinter”, without a word of protest. Something wasn’t adding up and she was going to find out. Finding her new skills and abilities to be a great asset, she tried to sneak into the main headquarters of Grant Conglomerates, to find anything which could link them to her parents’ death.

But her inexperience with her new skills forced her to flee when she tripped an alarm and was faced with cybernetic guards who shrugged off all her blows. But the alarm had drawn the attention of someone else, the Raven who confronted her 2 blocks from the G.C. building. Knowing her story was easy, it was in all the newspapers for the past week. And the staff at her home couldn’t stay on without pay. Thus she talked to Joy and convinced her of a better place to stay, Claremont Academy. Thus just a short time ago she became one of the newest students there, with the promise the Freedom League would do everything in their power to bring her parent’s killer to justice.

Description: Joy is an attractive young woman with a slender but athletic build. Her skin has a yellowish tint to it, with minor scars and burns on her hands and arms from past accidents. She keeps her bluish-black hair down to just past her shoulders, while her gray eyes can show compassion or an intensity which is a little unnerving.

She normally alternates between wearing blouses and skirts with flats, to shirts, blue jeans and tennis shoes depending on where she is going and what she is doing. She has built up a costume of her own, with a purple mask covering her face partially, a black uniform with purple strips on the torso, upper part of her boots, and built-in knee pads. She has a pair of gloves and her shoulder guards are partially armored. She has various pouches on a belt which hangs loosely around her waist, with a couple on the side of the torso area of her uniform. Her gadgets and gear are mostly built by herself.

Personality: Despite all she has been through, Joy tries to live up to her name and keep an upbeat outlook. She will try to cheer others up first instead of caring what happens to herself, even making items for others as a hobby. But underneath it all, she is a determined and driven young woman who will stop at nothing to see justice done.

Powers and Abilities: Due to the mental imprinting, Shadowstrike has various skills she wouldn’t otherwise have. Her agility and reflexes have increased due to multiple skill implants overlapping in that area and can avoid threats with ease. Her athletics ability, something which she never developed before, is equal to a professional athlete now, capable of climbing difficult surfaces, make incredible, although not superhuman, leaps, run faster and swim with ease.

Her acrobatics skills are Olympic level, able to quickly tumble, flip and roll out of the way of threats and even land safely from high falls. Her implanted martial arts skills are a mix of various forms of karate, able to shift from attack to defense, accuracy or focus on damage with ease. She even knows how to make accurate and deadly blows, as well as nerve strikes that can leave someone paralyzed for a time. She also gained near-superhuman stealth skills, even able to fade into the shadows with but a moment’s notice.

Beyond her imprinted skills and abilities she has her intellect and knowledge. Trained from an early age in all areas of science and technology, she can figure out advanced technology fairly easy and even is a skilled inventor, building tools and gadgets in her free time. Using her knowledge of current events, she has her inheritance in various banks with high interest rates, stocks, etc. and uses her wealth to help others however she can.

Tactics: She will try to sneak up on a target from the shadows and take them by surprise if possible, striking hard and fast with an accurate blow to a weak point which can subdue a foe quickly. Failure to do so on the first blow means she shifts defensive until she can properly gauge a foe’s threat level. Yet she always keeps moving, trying to make herself a harder target by jumping, flipping and tumbling around the areas and her foes.

Once she has figured out the best tactic, she will engage a foe using agile flipping and tumbling to catch them off-guard and strike either with accurate blows or nerve strikes. If unable to harm a foe she will shift to offense and strike with more vicious and cheap blows to weak points on the body. If all this does nothing to a foe, she will find a way to retreat if needed or use a gadget she has on-hand.

When faced with groups of foes she will flip, tumble and leap through their ranks, striking with swift but accurate blows to take down as many as possible in the least amount of time. Hit-and-run tactics are her prefer method, using her speed and agility to her advantage.

Allies: A new student at Claremont, she can still call upon Headmaster Summers when needed. She has a contact to the Freedom League through the Raven, who will help her out if she gets herself in too deep.

Enemies: Besides some local gangs who she has made trouble for, Jonathan Grant is her biggest enemy. She suspects he was involved in her parents’ death and will do anything to take him down. He sees her as nothing more than a pest to be squashed when she proves to be too annoying.

Complications
Motivation: Jasmine simply wishes to be accepted by others as a fellow human instead of a monster or freak.
Accident: Despite her best efforts, sometimes she gets cut and her blood splatters.
Enemy: The “Freak Slayers” would hunt her down to the ends of the Earth, if they knew where she was. While Malvor the Dark seeks to ruin her relationships and drive her into his arms, for reasons only he understands.
Strange Appearance: She is very attractive but still considered a “monster” or “freak” by many, some who would seek to harm her.
Self-Esteem Issues: If insulted or shunned by those she considers her friends, she can slump into depression and not care to do anything. She is considered Impaired as long as this last.

Notes
:arrow: A shy, sweet girl who some think is a monster due to her appearance and powers. She is dangerous, despite not wishing to fight, as she can turn others to stone with her gaze and her blood is a threat to anything it touches.

History: Living in New York with her parents, Jasmine was an outgoing young girl who loved to play outside and hang out with her friends. But fate had more in store for her, as she was in Central Park at a friend’s party when the “Gene Pulse” hit, her body became stiff and unmoving for 3 days before she reverted to normal. Just a scare for her parents, they didn’t think anything was wrong with their little girl and went on living life normally.

But shortly after her 13th birthday she began to suffer from unknown symptoms; the first sign was her eyes turning deep amber, followed by her hair growing in thicker and green, while her skin began to become scaly and green. With her changes she looked like a medusa, at least from a distance where her hair could be mistaken for snakes. The other kids in her private school began to whisper behind her back about “the monster”, some of them scared of her and some parents not wanting their kids to attend school with a freak. Thus she was expelled, all out of unfound fears.

But this wasn’t the end of things, as her home was attacked by a group, scared of the “monster” living there. A brutal mob had come to kill her, her father shielding her and his wife as they struck him down for defending a “monster.” But Jasmine didn’t come out of the attack unharmed, as a cut on her arm splattered blood onto 3 of the attacks and turned them to stone. The rest of the mob fled for their lives, when the police finally arrive.

With nothing else to do and nowhere else to go, the Sentinels gave her mother another option. They would set her up with a new home, while Jasmine would go to Claremont Academy, a school which could keep her secret. Thus she was given private schooling for years til recently when the school shifted to superhumans and heroes only as students. The partial isolation did no good for her self-esteem and she sought to make friends, with Bio-Flux and Cheetina being her first and closest so far. She only wishes to live in peace and fit in once more with regular humanity, yet a dark force is working against this, driving her away from those she trust and into its clutches.

Description: Jasmine is an attractive and curvy young woman, with strength beyond what her build would suggest. Yet she is far from normal, as her skin is green and scaly like a snake’s, her eyes are amber and snake-like and her hair grows out in very thick strands and green, appearing to be snakes from a distance.

She can’t hide her appearance or identity with a costume and doesn’t try. She tends to wear girly clothes, blouses, skirts, dresses, flats, etc. to show she is a girl despite her strange appearance. A common outfit is her old private school uniform, a bluish-black dress with a white blouse, black tie and simple black shoes.

Personality: Jasmine is a kind and caring girl despite all that has happened her. Yet she is shy, especially around new people, and tends to try and blend in to the background. Part of her old, fun-loving and outgoing self is still in there and she can’t resist a good prank as long as no one gets hurt.

Powers and Abilities: Bloodstone’s changes due to the “Gene Pulse” made her into a modern day medusa. Her stamina and flexibility have been enhanced to superhuman levels, able to weather threats others would fall to easily. Her gaze has the power to turn people to stone, although temporarily. Unlike the Medusa of legend, she has full control over this. By far her most dangerous element is her blood, anything or anyone who comes into contact with it turns to stone for an indeterminate amount of time.

Tactics: When training or forced into a fight, she will keep her distance and disable opponents with her petrifying gaze. But if forced into close range she uses her self-defense training and natural speed and flexibility to avoid being hit at all cost. If cut and bleeding she will withdraw til she can bind the wound.

Allies: The staff of Claremont Academy will help her in any way possible, while the Sentinels still remember the little girl they helped out. Bio-Flux and Cheetina will always have her back no matter what the threat, seeing a part of themselves in the shy outsider.

Enemies: Back in New York there are those who still remember being trapped in stone for months, having formed a hate group called “The Freak Slayers.” Were she to return to New York, they would do everything in their power to hunt down and kill her. Meanwhile Malvor the Dark, a manipulative demon with extensive plans, seeks to make her an ally for unknown reasons.

He normally uses one pencil, although when expecting a fight will have Pencil of the Hidden Shield and Pencil of Deadly Projectiles out. When using Pencil of True Animation, just use Archetypes [either main book or Character Generator] bumped up to PL 12 for quick creations.

History: Adarack was born and raised on an Earth different than most, one where magic was common and easily obtained. Yet he was apprenticed to one of the greatest pencil makers in history, a man who imbue each pencil with powers beyond most magic. Learning the art, he would eventually exceed his master, becoming legendary for his skill. Yet this skill did nothing to protect his wife when Omega and the Terminus showed up, their forces too much even the power of his pencils to face alone.

Watching his wife dragged off, into the Terminus, he used a pencil to open a portal to another world, another Earth. Travel between worlds was but moments for him, yet over 80 years had passed, for he arrived in 2001 in Freedom City. Opening a simple pencil shop as he learned more about this world, his talents became known when a simple man used one of his pencils to cure his wife of cancer. SHADOW sought him out and learned more about his skill than he cared for, demanding he work for them now. But he refused and in the ensuing fight he drove them off, but not without injury; he still walks with a limp to this day.

After this incident he added a new tattoo to his chest, one which would cloak him from all senses, except for those he wishes to find him. Using his connection to his pencils and his skill at assessing people, he began to sell special pencils to a select few, while others were arrange to fall into the hands of the worthy. And after seeing Freedom City’s history, he waits for the day Omega and his forces appear again. For then he would have vengeance, for his wife, for his world.

Description: Adarack is an old man, in his early 60s but time has worn into him. His wrinkled face is framed by an old pair of glasses, along with a bushy mustache and beard which he keeps trim. His black hair is keep short and combed back, while his silver eyes show wisdom beyond even his years. Despite his age, his hands are nimble and strong, while his eyes need glasses he can notice things others miss.

He almost always is seen in an old pair of brown overalls, a white shirt underneath them and a pair of old, but sturdy black boots. He has a belt designed to carry his pencils with him when he leaves his workshop/home.

Personality: At first he seems to be a simple, kindly old man who reminds you of a grandfather. But a deeper look reveals a wisdom beyond any normal humans and force of personality that could command nations if he so choses. He cares for others but can see past the surface, knowing who will use his gifts and who will abuse them. Even so, he still like to test those who might turn one way or the other by gifting them with one of his pencils, he can always take the power away in the future.

Powers and Abilities: Pencil Maker is an old man who is from another world, one where magic was common and his skill at pencil making was legendary. He has greater natural intellect, awareness, will and force of personality due to being from a human offshoot known as the Aurians. He has given himself tattoos using his pencils, one which allows him to understand any languages, written or spoken, and be understood by anyone; one which cloaks his presence from detection from all means except touch, only those he wishes to see or locate him will; and one which boost his vitality to superhuman levels and makes him immune to many ailments and environmental concerns.

But his greatest ability is the power to create pencils, using old techniques, and imbue them with powers. He normally arranges for them to be found by those he wishes to have them or draws them to his shop to purchase them. Yet he doesn’t sell all his pencils, keeping several dozen for his own private use and over a dozen on him at all times. His connection to his pencils is such that he can see and hear anywhere they are or their current owner is, as well as turn off any and all special powers the pencil has at will.

Tactics: Pencil Maker tries to keep to himself and avoid any trouble when possible. When it is unavoidable he will use his pencils to help, boosting his defenses and giving himself attacks through them. When in an emergency he will use his pencils to create objects or beings that can help, bringing them to life yet still appearing to be drawings.

Allies: He might have allies in past customers, including a group called the Shadow Patrol.

Enemies: SHADOW has attempted to force him into their service and will most likely try again in the future. Omega and his forces will find a powerful foe in Pencil Maker when they show up again.

:arrow: Demon with angelic influence since before he was born, he is an anti-hero who won’t hesitate to kill those who don’t surrender or whose very nature threatens humans.

History: Less than a century ago, two demons formed an alliance out of convenience. One, whose original name has been lost, was secretly being taught by an angel mentor, trying to become more than just a demon. Malvor the Dark, one of the greatest manipulators in the known multi-verse, had plans for his new ally. A tryst between them resulted in her becoming pregnant, all according to plan for Malvor.

Seeing his plans for their child, the woman fled to the mortal plane, living on Earth in the Freedom City area. Her angel mentor helped her adjust to living without using her powers, yet Malvor wouldn’t be so easily deterred. He had plans for his son, ones which wouldn’t be stopped. The angelic influence on the boy, Jack, both before and after being born, helped to cloak him from the scrying eyes of his demon father and other supernatural evil.

On Earth, the young Jack Basilisk [assumed last name of mother] was a prodigy, his natural physical and even mental abilities surpassing his fellow kids. He was teased and taunted by the other kids, living in poverty as his mother couldn’t rely on his powers if she wished to truly change. Taught to always follow your instincts and to help others wherever you can, he would always brush off the taunts as just childish jealousy.

At 16 he met his first true love; Amy was pure of heart and almost angelic in nature, the perfect match for the boy struggling with his inner nature. They dated for over 2 years, before tragedy struck. A vigilante, who had crossed paths with Jack’s old man and lost everything, turned to demon hunting and didn’t care who got hurt his own private war. When he tracked down Jack and discovered his true nature, he attacked without mercy, only to end up killing Amy and then running like a coward. Jack is now driven by pain, the pain of losing Amy, and uses it to seek out evil in the world and destroy it. Along with cowards who destroy innocent lives in their own private wars.

Description: Jack is an attractive young man with a strong, toned build and lightly tanned skin. He tends to keep his black hair long and down to his shoulders, sometimes worn in a ponytail. His brown eyes can show either compassion for those harmed by evil or shift to red when angered. He can shift his fingernails into razor-sharp talons capable of tearing through evil reinforced steel, while he can cause a pair of black angelic wings to grown from his back or retract at will.

He doesn’t care to hide his appearance but works in the shadows most of the time. His normal outfit is a black pair of jeans, a sleeve-less trench coat with no shirt underneath and a pair of steel-toed boots.

Personality: Jack is a study in extreme opposites. With most people he is friendly, compassionate and a good listener. But against true evil or those who destroyed innocent lives in private wars he is ruthless, barely in control as his rage takes over, lashing out with a fury that is scary to watch. He can be a highly charming individual, a measure of the charisma he inherited from his father.

Powers and Abilities: Jack is a demon, but one who is tempered by angelic influence and that of his mother who taught him better. He has superhuman strength and is able to lift several tons with ease; his body is incredibly durable and healthy, immortal in nature due to his father, and bones like iron.

The angelic influence has purged the hellfire from his being, channeling the available power into other areas. From being shield from detection by scrying demons or any supernatural evil, he also can grow black angelic wings from his back to fly when needed. But there is still some demon in him, as his eyes turn red when angry and can see clearly even in the lowest lighting. Drive by a rage when in combat, he can turn his fingernails into deadly talons.

Tactics: When faced with a potential fight, he will use his charisma to try and smooth things over. But when forced into a fight he will not hold back, striking with great speed and subduing foes left and right. He only gives into his rage and brings out his talons when faced with supernatural evil or those who harm innocents in private wars. Flying into a rage he fights with a reckless abandon, caring little for his own safety.

Allies: Besides his mother and her angel mentor to advise him, he has no allies to speak off.

Enemies: Silverblade, the demon hunting vigilante who killed Amy, is still alive despite them having fought more than once. His own father, Malvor, seeks to twist him to own goals.

History: Emily had a good life, training to be a nurse, her family’s support and the love of a good man. But life has a way of changing without warning, as her boyfriend cheated on and then dumped her, saying she was too plain for his taste. Wandering in Central Park and trying to make sense of everything, she was knocked unconscious when the “Gene Pulse” hit. Waking up in a local E.R., she was tested and cleared to go home, but home to what?

Just 8 months later and her life started to turn around again, as she got an internship at a local hospital, one of the best in the area. Working hard to prove herself, she would overtime just to help out in the E.R. and this practice lead to a revelation just a year later. A powerful storm hit the area, leading to the E.R. behind extra busy with incoming. Emily had stayed an extra hour past her shift and was shocked as she saw the number of injured coming in, some in such bad shape they might not make it the night.

Her concern triggered something within her and she found her very presence and touch were causing people to stabilize, even gashing wounds closing before her eyes. At home after an exhausting shift she began to research online, finding out she someone strengthened the lifeforce of others, to such a degree even lethal injuries could be survived. She practiced in secret, not wishing others to know what she did as she became a secret “angel” for those in the hospital. Even learning how to block the pain of others around her and put them to sleep with a touch. Yet she is too shy about her abilities to become a superhero, fearing her disguise would be seen through in an instant.

Description: Despite her own opinion, Emily is very attractive and curvy, yet tends to hide it behind suits or scrubs at the hospital. She keeps her brown hair short, while her sky blue eyes show compassion and empathy.

She doesn’t disguise herself, normally being seen in blue hospital scrubs while at work or simple dress suits the rest of the time.

Personality: Emily is shy by nature, only truly opening up to those she feels she can trust. She cares for others and will go out of her way to help them, even if it inconveniences her. In private she loves to test her mind and intellect, reading and doing crossword puzzles for fun.

Powers and Abilities: Her own lifeforce was increased to incredible levels by the “Gene Pulse”. She is immune to diseases and parasites, possesses superhuman stamina and resistance to injury; rapidly regenerates from any injury. She radiates a powerful lifeforce and automatically stabilizes a dying individual by touch. She is always aware of her own health and physical condition.

But her true power, one which she has been afraid to test too much, is power over others’ lifeforce. She can heal individuals of anything, even normally incurable injuries and diseases; bring back the clinical dead if they have only been gone for a few minutes; transfer her own energy to others to help those who are fatigued; put someone to sleep with but a touch; and completely block out pain in everyone within 30 feet of herself. All of these are psychic in nature and subtle, only those capable of detecting psychic powers can sense her using them.

Tactics: Emily doesn’t wish to hurt others, if force into a confrontation she will simply put them to sleep. If faced with non-living beings such as robots, she will push her powers to increase her own strength to superhuman levels to face them. She will always work to heal injured in the area first before caring about taking out threats, unless they could kill those under her protection.

Allies: Emily keeps her powers secret and has no known allies.

Enemies: She has no enemies either, keeping a low profile.

Prejudice: Despite his power and abilities, most still see him as a cute little bunny rabbit. Thus he suffers a -2 circumstance penalty to Intimidation checks to those who don’t know of his reputation as a psychopathic killer.
Psychopath: He doesn’t care if you are young or old, all humans will pay for what happened to him and it won’t end til the world is bathed in blood or he falls to a superior foe. Fear doesn’t enter his mind and pain barely slows him down.

History: The rabbit who would become known as Bloody Bunny was part of the same experiments as Commander Floppy. Yet while Floppy escaped at the first opportunity, the other rabbits labored under the torturous experiments and tests for months more. Out of over 40 rabbits, only Floppy, the future Bloody Bunny and one other survived.

Now gifted with human level intelligence and seeing a chance, the other two broke free and fled on a speedboat, ending up in Freedom City. But unlike Floppy the other two had been driven insane by the tests, driven to gain revenge on humanity in their own way. While the other rabbit went off and began to attack human cities and structures using explosives [See Bomber Bunny], this poor soul turned to brutal means to take his revenge.

He began to hunt down and kill the humans with any weapon he could lay his paws on, avoiding notice for months before the authorities put the pattern together and believed the survivors and eyewitnesses to his brutality. Dubbed the Bloody Bunny by the press, soon he was finding it harder and harder to lure humans in to kill. So he took to learning how to trick the humans and appears to be nothing but an ordinary rabbit, despite reports on Bloody Bunny more than a few still fell when lured in by the cute rabbit. Floppy and the Monster Squad have almost caught him on more than one occasion but he has always managed to slip away.

Description: Bloody Bunny is a cute brown rabbit with a white underbelly, around 1.3 feet long and weighing just 8 pounds. His black eyes can appear innocent or gleam with psychotic intelligence; he tries to keep his fur clean but always gets it bloody when hunting humans. As an animal he doesn’t wear clothing and some question how he stores his weapons without any pockets or holsters.

Personality: Bloody Bunny is a psychopath through and through, he sees all humans as the same as Splicer and monsters to be killed. Yet he is cunning, able to hide his true nature when needed and trick humans into letting their guard down. Scientists suffer the worst when facing him, as he will take his time killing them and letting them bleed like he did. His only ally, on occasion, is Bomber Bunny when they work against the humans together.

Powers and Abilities: Bloody Bunny is a genetically altered super rabbit. He has the normal fur coat of a rabbit his size, strong eyesight and superhuman hearing, and is a skilled digger. His normal strength, stamina, speed and leaping abilities have all been enhanced to greater than even human levels, as when needed he can keep up with a car.

He is a natural fighter and skilled with any weapon he gets his paws on; yet fights with reckless abandon and little care for his own safety as long as he can take out at least 1 more human. He knows how to scare and startle humans despite his size and lack of social skills. His favorite weapon is a medieval axe and he keeps a few hidden in various caches in and near Freedom City.

Tactics: Fast, tough and strong, especially for a rabbit, Bloody Bunny will hit with everything he has in hopes of taking out foes in one quick blow. Leaping at them while screaming with an axe in his paws, he definitely can scare many foes. He uses simple tactics and just rushes opponents with a charge to strike hard and fast.

Allies: His only ally, and only when their plans coincide, is Bomber Bunny.

Enemies: Splicer will do anything to recapture him and subject him to further test and experiments, all in the name of refining his process. SHADOW has a bounty out on him for killing more than a few of their agents and the Crime League has a kill on sight order for his attacks on various members, even nearly killing Toy Boy on one occasion.

His first target after hitting a warehouse to gain access to explosives was Astro Labs in Freedom City. No one noticed a little bunny hopping around the building, too small to take notice as he placed the explosives at random points. Thanks to the timely appearance of Dr. Metropolis, no lives were lost and the damage to the building was fixed in under an hour. Yet the attack made the bunny think, he studied and learned about various explosives and means of planting them, along with knowledge of structural engineering and the best places to plant explosives for maximum effect.

Description: Bomber Bunny is a cute brown rabbit with a white underbelly, around 1.4 feet long and weighing just 8 pounds. He sees humans as threat to all other lifeforms on the plants and himself as a freedom fighter defending the animals of the world. His intellect shows in his speech, always using long sentences and talking down to those humans around him. He sometimes works with Bloody Bunny when it benefits him but sees his fellow rabbit as a short-minded simpleton.

Powers and Abilities: Bomber Bunny is a genetically altered super rabbit. He has the normal fur coat of a rabbit his size, strong eyesight and superhuman hearing, and is a skilled digger. His normal strength, stamina, speed and leaping abilities have all been enhanced to greater than even human levels, as when needed he can keep up with a car.

Fighter smarter, not harder; words he lives by. He will seek to avoid direct combat with foes and keep his distance while lobbing explosives, making sure he is out of the blast radius. He will target things like power lines, manholes, the side of buildings and more to cause trouble so the heroes have to deal with it while he gets away. His skill with explosives is more natural talent than training or experience; he even knows how to avoid explosions and similar large area attacks with great ease.

He is a sneaky little rabbit, naturally knowing how to disappear at a moment’s notice and near superhuman skill at the art of stealth. Additional experiments done on him by Splicer have resulted in a complete immunity to all poisons and chemical effects, along with a low-level regenerative ability.

Tactics: Hurling explosives to take out the softer targets first and lessen the number of foes he has to face is his first goal. If his explosives prove to not be enough, he will endanger humans by blasting the side of buildings, the street, power lines, etc. to force them to make a hard choice, save the endangered and let him escape or focus on him and let others get harmed.

Allies: His only ally, and only when their plans coincide, is Bloody Bunny.

Enemies: Splicer will do anything to recapture him and subject him to further test and experiments, all in the name of refining his process. Numerous criminal organizations, as well as supervillains, are gunning for him for taking out research centers and warehouse stockpiles on more than one occasion.

:arrow: Brickhouse’s younger cousin, she loves Japanese culture and anime, being an otaku and even having a custom sailor fuku as her school uniform.

History: Nyuu was born the youngest of 3, a dragon-type Kaiju and niece to lord of them all on another Earth. She was cute and precocious from an early age, smart and well-liked by all. Yet her kind heart couldn’t stand seeing how her older cousin, Anne, a half-kaiju, was treated. She hung out with the human kids as she was too small to hang with the full Kaiju unless they chose to shrink down to her size. Thus Nyuu befriended her and Jasmine in turn warmed up to her cousin.

They were all shocked when at the age of 12 Anna discovered she could grow to 60’ tall, short of a true kaiju’ full height but still impressive. Nyuu helped her adjust and even got help from their father to aid his niece in fitting in. Nyuu would talk for hours about her interest with Jasmine and Anna, yet always seemed to have time for her other friends. Yet when Anna grew up and decided to travel the world and see new things, Nyuu wished she was old enough to come with her.

Starting high school, she was the hottest 16 year old [equivalent to a 13 year old human] and had to deal with boys constantly hitting on her. Not that she tried hard to discourage them. News of her cousin’s disappearance through a strange portal reached her and along with Jasmine worked to find a way to reach her. All seemed lost til their crazy uncle, Firtyr, used his scientific knowledge to track a new portal opening just short of a year to the day since Anna disappeared.

Heading through the portal in hopes of finding Anna, they appeared in the middle of a city, one occupied by humans and only humans. Yet Firtyr sensed something they couldn’t, bestial kaiju he could dominate with his power and rule this world. He flew off without a word to his nieces before AEGIS had a chance to stop him. But Anna was able to keep the peace, as she came to meet Nyuu and Jasmine in New York and explain to them what was going on.

Given a place to live in the Monster Squad H.Q., Nyuu began to learn about the world and couldn’t believe what she found as she stumbled upon a site about kaiju which linked to details about Japan. She couldn’t believe it, a culture so similar yet so different from the one she grew up in. She latched onto it and even began to watch anime, something of an obsession which grew with time. As long as Anna and her friends had to deal with their crazed uncle who dubbed himself Fire Tyrant, as long as she was stuck in this world, she might as well enjoy it as long as she can.

Description: Nyuu is a kaiju, her natural form being that of an attractive, yet giant form standing at 80’ tall currently. Her blue eyes show curiosity and compassion, while her long brown hair is kept in a ponytail by a bow. She has a curvy body for a girl her relative age, having green scaly skin, pointed ears , a long tail that hangs down to her feet, and large, 4-toed [3 large toes and a dewclaw] feet. She has various outfits, mostly dresses, blouses and skirts with Mary Jane shoes; her favorite outfit is a sailor fuku with blue skirt and red ribbon. She is shown in image wearing normal dress for her.

Personality: Nyuu is a perky, intelligent young woman who is friendly with everyone she meets. She believes in the innate goodness of others til they prove her wrong, being a bit naïve. She is full of energy and always up for trying new things, especially learning about different cultures. She is obsessed with Japanese culture and tries to emulate it, but her true love is anime which she collects with fervor. If something she cares for or children are threatened she will do everything she can to protect them, despite lacking proper combat training or skill with shielding others.

Powers and Abilities: Nyuu is a full-blooded Kaiju, effective in her mid-teens for a Kaiju and not having fully grown into her powers just yet. At her natural size, she weighs 1200 tons and stands 80’, average for a Kaiju girl her age. Yet this size gives her superhuman strength and stamina, taking at least the equivalent of a direct hit from the gun batteries of a battleship to have a chance of harming her.

As a dragon-type Kaiju, she is immune to harm from fire and heat, even able to swim in lava in comfort. Able to see in any lighting, see through illusions and possessing a sharp sense of smell, she is hard to catch off-guard. She is able to safely survive in any environment, heals from wounds almost as fast as they are inflicted and is quick on her feet. Her wings are currently under developed and she has a few years to go before she can use them to fly just yet.

Tactics: Nyuu will seek to make sure any civilians and innocents in the area are moved to safety before anything else. If forced to fight she will rely on her natural, untrained combat skill, strength and size to help her out, although she has some luck on her side if needed. If fighting in an area will endanger others, she will try to lure her opponents to a safer location.

Allies: Her cousin, Brickhouse; older sister, Jasmine; Monster Squad

Enemies: Her uncle, Fire Tyrant.

History:Born the middle child of 3, Jasmine was always being compared to her older brother Krim for being an accomplished explorer, while her little sister Nyuu was doted over and praised for her intelligence. So she took to trying to get attention any way she could, taking unnecessary risk and as she grew older, wearing skimpy outfits to show off her body. Her father finally took notice and tried to rein her in, but it was too late, she grew to love the thrills and attention. She even took to hanging out with Nyuu and her cousin Anna, if only to experience having true friends who weren’t just around her for her looks.

So when Anna took off to travel the world shortly after graduating high school, she took it hard. She began to slip back into her old ways and it was only the news of Anna disappearing through a portal which shocked her back to her senses. Working with Anna, all their leads were dead-ends til they contacted their crazy uncle, Firtyr. With his help they were able to locate a portal with the same energy signature which opened less than a year after Anna disappeared. Heading through, hoping to see her favorite cousin again, Jasmine was shocked to find herself standing in what she would come to know as Time Square in New York, only humans around.

Their uncle took off without a word before the authorities could arrive and it would be close to an hour before Anna showed up with a group of strange individuals, checking out the bull-man. Anna was able to keep the authorities from panicking and explained everything to Nyuu and Jasmine. Thus they took up residence in the Monster Squad H.Q., while Anna and her friends worked to bring in their uncle, the nutjob going by Fire Tyrant and stating he was this world’s new ruler. Talk about having screw loose.

Anna helped set her up with a modeling agency she used to work for, loving her exotic look and within a year she was world famous. Her preference to not wear clothes when she can, along with flirting a lot, lead to reputation as a slut even though she rarely went beyond kissing. But who cares what others say, as long as she is enjoying herself and having fun.

Description: Jasmine is a kaiju, her natural form being that of an attractive, yet giant form standing at 90’ tall. Her blue eyes show a mischievous, fun-loving nature, while her lavender hair hangs down to past her shoulders. She has very curvy and highly attractive, having forest green skin, red markings on her face, red scales on the top of her tail along with parts of body, pointed ears, a long tail that hangs down to her feet, short claws on her hands and feet and armored spikey plates on her shoulder area. She is one of the rare Kaiju whose scales can retract and normally hides her private parts, not needing to wear clothes and rarely doing so.

Personality: Jasmine is a girl who is hot and knows it, flaunting her looks and flirting with guys left and right. She uses her looks as a shield, protecting her from being rejected and alone. But all this is a cover for her true self, someone who simply wishes to spend time with those who care about her, like Anna and Nyuu, and be herself without worrying what others think.

Powers and Abilities: Jasmine is a full-blooded Kaiju, effective in her mid-20s for a Kaiju. At her natural size, she weighs 1300 tons and stands 90’. Yet this size gives her superhuman strength and stamina, taking at least the equivalent of a direct hit from the gun batteries of a battleship to have a chance of harming her.

As a dragon-type Kaiju, she is immune to harm from fire and heat, even able to swim in lava in comfort. Able to see in any lighting, see through illusions and possessing a sharp sense of smell, she is hard to catch off-guard. She is able to safely survive in any environment, heals from wounds almost as fast as they are inflicted and is quick on her feet. She has sharp claws on her hands and feet and even armored spikey plates on her shoulders which she can use with great force. She is a rare Kaiju whose scales can retract and doesn’t need to wear clothes to be “decent”.

Tactics: Jasmine will try to use her looks and charm to defuse a situation first. Failing this she will charge into the fight, using punches, kicks, claw slashes and shoulder checks with her armored spikey plates to subdue a foe as quickly as possible. Yet she won’t risk harming innocent and will seek to clear them out of the immediate battle area first.

Allies: Her cousin, Brickhouse; young sister, Nyuu; Monster Squad

Enemies: Her uncle, Fire Tyrant.
