MechForge: Gundam - Kojiro, Blitz Gundam, Aegis Gundam

Postby HustlerOne » Mon Apr 14, 2014 12:27 pm

Welcome to my new place for my builds. My old The Forge [3E] thread was starting to get
unwieldy so I decided to make a new one. If your not familiar with my builds then you should
know I tend to focus on constructs, equipment, Mecha and vehicles. Particularly pertaining
to those of the SciFi genre. I also try to complete a setting as much as I can.

Note that I use the old 2E rules for impervious. Impervious is not halved as a houserule for
my builds.

Code Geass World

PL: 6 to 8 for humans.

PL: 7 to 12 with mecha.

Background: Code Geass takes place in a alternate reality where the British empire never fell.
In fact in this world the American revolution was crushed. Meaning that democracy as we know
it never took place. This world has given rise to three superpowers highly reminiscent to the
ones in the novel 1984. This world is pretty dystopian with the masses ruled over by corrupt leaders
(some with psychic powers no less!).

The main draw of the setting are the realistic mini mechas called knightmare frames.
Knightmare being a cool pun of a Knight's mare (or horse). There are also limited
telepathic type powers called Geass in the setting.

The national superpowers of code geass are:

The Holy Britannia Empire

The Britannian Empire is a evil capitalist empire ruled overby decadent would be aristocrats
(in other words not that much different from our world). It is for now the premier nation in
the Code Geass world. They hold sway over the Americas and a few other former nations
called Areas. They have recently just conquered Japan, the Middle East Federation (aka
Saudi Arabia) and possibly the Philippines.

Ironically enough, they long ago lost the British isles to possibly the french.
Britannia is ruled over by the douchebag Charles Britannia a advocate for social darwinism.

The European Union

This nation is really a amalgamation of various European countries. It is a possibly democratic
(or at least made up of constitutional monarchies) political entity with neo liberal tendencies.
Presumably the African continent was never able to free itself from European colonialism.
They are nearly equal rivals militarily, economically, and technologically to Britannia.

The Chinese Federation

The Chinese Federation holds most of southeast Asia (including India) in its sway. It is a collectivist monarchy ruled by a child empress. In reality, the Chinese Eunichs are the true power behind the throne. They are the weakest of the superpowers in terms of technology. However they make up for it with
massive amounts of manpower and resources.

Notable Others: Australia is neutral. A free Iran might well be the remnants of the middle east federation.

SutherLand - 5th Generation Holy Britannian Mass Production Knightmare Frame

* With Growth Modifiers

Abilities: -12, Powers: 89, Advantages: 2, Skills: 0, Defense: 11 = Total: 90

Complications:

Notes: The Sutherland is the standard massproduction knightmare frame of
Britannia. It was developed soon after the successful invasion of Japan. The
Sutherland was made to battle a wide variety of opponents from infantry, tanks,
and other knightmares. It was so successful that other nations were soon developing
their own versions of knightmares. It is the measuring stick by which to compare
knightmares with at the beginning of Code Geass.

It is well balanced when compared to it's foreign imitators. It has the unique
advantage of having hands allowing it to fight in melee. It's armor and weaponry
are rather average. It relies solely on its assault rifle for offense. Although,
other handheld weaponry can be utilized due to having hands. The built in slash
harkens can both be used for attack as well as scaling buildings.

The Sutherland relies on wheels located at the feet for it's primary movement.
Further advances would even allow limited flight in the future with a optional
Float Unit backpack. The Sutherland would go on to form the basis for customized
models such as the closequarter Gloucester meant for elite units. The Sutherland
was so ubiquitous that it would soon fall into the hands of Japenese resistance
groups such as the Black Knights.

Hey, Code Geass stuff, awesome!

I was really into that show when it first came out-I actually built most of the big-name characters from that in 2E, and a few sample Knightmares, as well as the unique ones like the Guren and the Lancelot.

Yeah, I remember your great Code Geass stuff using the old Mecha and Manga rules for creating Mecha.
Your builds for the characters and mecha from the second season were some of the best. They were so
good that I really didn't want to repeat your work. So I decided to go for more generic designs. Although,
the Lancelot was a particular favorite of mine so I had to do it.

Sadly, I myself can't seem to recall the second season of Code Geass very well. Maybe it was the fact
that some people say it sucked compared to the first season. Gundam 00 had the same problem.
I mean Code Geass went from having semi realistic mecha to flying mini gundams.

Name: G1 Base LandCruiser, Size: Gargantuan (3), Strength: 13 (1), Speed: 3 (3),

Defense: 4 (10), Toughness: 13 (2), Cost: 50

Features: (5) Catapults, Communications, Defense System, Garage, Infirmary

Powers: None

Weapons: Cannon: Ranged Damage 10 (Extra: Burst 6) (26)

Notes: The G1 Base serves as a ground combat command vehicle. It is
basically a naval destroyer on land. It also acts as a carrier of knightmare
frames and can quickly deploy them with catapults. The G1 base is always
escorted by a knightmare frame squad and other combat vehicles. The main
armament is it's cannon.

A close in weapons defense system similar to machineguns protects it from
infantry attacks. Finally, it has a onboard infirmary to treat any wounded
personnel. Cornelia Britannia has her own personal one to act as a mobile HQ.

Carries 10 Gloucester or Sutherland Knightmare Frames. It is 200 meters long.

Gun Ru - 4th Generation Chinese Federation Mass Production Knightmare

PL: 7

Abilities: Str: 4/10*, Sta: - , Agl: -1, Dex: 1, Fgt: 1, Int: - , Awe: -1 , Pre: -

Powers: Communicator: Communications 2 (Radio, Flat: Subtle 1) (9),

Construct: Immunity 30 (Fortitude) (30),

FactSphere Sensor: Senses 3 (Accurate, radio [radar], Lowlight Vision) (3),

Land Spinner Propulsion System: Speed 4 (30 mph) (4),

Large: Growth 6 (Flat: Innate, Flaw: Permanent) (13),

Light Armor: Protection 2 (Extra: 4 Impervious) (6)

Weapons: Bottom Shoulder Mounted Cannons: Ranged Damage 6 (Extra: Burst 4) (16),

Alternate Effect: Top Shoulder Mounted Machine Guns: Ranged Damage 5 (Extra: Multiattack) (1)

Advantages: None

Equipment: None

Skills: Intimidation 0 (+3), Stealth 0 (-4)

Offense: Initiative: -1, Unarmed: +1 (Damage 10), Cannons: +1 (Damage 6),

MachineGuns: +1 (Damage 5)

Defense: Dodge: 7/4*, Parry: 8/5*, Fortitude: -, Toughness: 8, Will: -

* With Growth Modifiers

Abilities: -22, Powers: 82, Advantages: 0, Skills: 0, Defense: 15 = Total: 75

Complications: Disability: Has no arms!

Notes: The Gun Ru is the Chinese attempt to catch up to Britannia's lead
in Knightmare technology. The phrase "Quantity Has a Quality of Its Own" describes
the Gun Ru quite well. It is nearly inferior to Britannia's mass produced Sutherland
Knightmare in almost every category. The Gun Ru is less durable, slower, and not as
well armed as it's foreign counterparts. However, the Gun Ru is so cheap that it can
overwhelm it's opponents through sheer numbers.

The Gun Ru is a generation behind in terms of technology. So it is both similar
and yet quite different to other knightmares. It is larger with a distinct frog
like look compared to the more humanoid forms of it's competitor. Tellingly enough,
it has no cockpit ejection system, arms (or even hands!), and does not have slash
harkens equipped. This shows how far behind the Chinese are in Knightmare development.

The lack of a cockpit ejection system also notes the lack of concern for the welfare
of Chinese Knightmare pilots. The pilots are just as disposable as their machines!
This attritional mindset mirrors the collectivist society of the Chinese Federation.
Gun Ru's usually outnumber their foreign equivalents four (or more!) to one. GunRu's
were first used in a attempted invasion of Japan.

Name: Longdan Land Cruising Mobile Fortress, Size: Colossal (4),

Strength: 16 (0), Speed: 1 (1), Defense: 2 (10), Toughness: 16 (3), Cost: 85

Features: (3) Catapults, Communications, Garage

Powers: None

Weapons: Cannons: Ranged Damage 10 (Extra: Burst 6) (26)

Large Cannons: Ranged Damage 13 (Extra: Burst 9, Flat: Extended Range 3) (38)

Optional Float System: Movement 1 (Waterwalking) (+2)

Notes: The name Longdan is Chinese for Dragon Egg. The Longdan is
a ground combat command battleship used by the Chinese Federation. It is
the much larger equivalent to Brittannia's G1 Base Land Cruiser. A few
Longdan's are actually able to float a few inches above the ground. This
allows them to cross over large bodies of water.

The Longdan is shaped more as a mobile fortress than a battleship. It's armor
and firepower is equivalent to that of a naval battleship. It's armaments
are much more powerful than a G1 Base. However, it has no close in weapons
defense system to defend it from nearby opponents. It makes up for this by
carrying dozens more Gun Ru Knightmares than a equivalent G1 Base.

Carries 10 Crew and 36(?) Gun Ru Knightmare Frames.

* With Growth Modifiers

Abilities: -18, Powers: 116, Advantages: 1, Skills: 0, Defense: 10 = Total: 105

Complications: Disability: Has no hands.

Notes: PanzerHummel means "Tank Bumblebee" in German. This is fitting considering
how much of a fast tank the European Union's version of a knightmare is. The europeans
went in the complete opposite direction to the Chinese attempts at making their own
knightmare. The europeans decided that quality was by far much more important. In so
doing they successfully created a knightmare just as advanced (or even more so!) than
Britannia's standard mass production sutherland knightmare.

The PanzerHummel focuses exclusively in longrange combat. It's weaponry is superior to
the sutherlands consisting of autocannons, machineguns, and missiles. The PanzerHummel
is well armored even when compared to the Sutherland. The europeans were even able to
incorporate the successful slashharkens concept into the design of the panzerhummel.
Which just goes to show how far they are in closing the technological gap that exists
between them and Britannia.

However, the PanzerHummel is still a generation behind. The europeans simply have a more
overspecialized knightmare. For example it has no hands to defend itself in close quarters.
In addition all that armor and weaponry limits the machine's ability to maneuver. Finally,
it is by far more expensive than a sutherland and thus limits their numbers. Nevertheless,
the panzerhummel was a pretty good attempt to match Britannian expertise in knightmares.

Complications:

Notes: The Lancelot is a one of a kind experimental prototype Britannian
Knightmare. It's performance level exceeds that of prior generations of knightmares.
It boasts unique systems found nowhere else in the beginning of the Code Geass
universe. It is currently undergoing tests during a trial period. It was not
expected to go into combat.

The Lancelot is nearly invincible due to its combination of Sakuradite Armor and
Blaze Luminous energy shields mounted in the forearms. The Variable Ammunition
Repulsion Impact Spitfire (Varis) particle rifle is based on railgun technology
thats has energy ammunition. It can change the structure of its barrel to fire
either a straight "beam" or a explosive shot. The Maser Vibration Swords
vibrates at a high frequency allowing it to cut through nearly any material. The
slash harkens are outfitted with boosters allowing it to change course while in
midflight.

Further improvements allowed for limited flight in the form of energy wings.
The only minor drawback to the design is the lack of a cockpit ejection system.
Although most Britannians care little for it's test pilot Suzaku Kururugi. It is
so advanced that it skipped a whole entire generation in knightmare development.

Lelouch vi Britannia - Revolutionary Prince

PL: 8

Abilities: Str: -1, Sta: -1, Agl: 2, Dex: 2, Fgt: 1, Int: 9, Awe: 6, Pre: 6

Powers: "The Power of Absolute Obedience" Geass: Cone Area Affliction 15 (Resisted

by will, Entranced, Compelled, Controlled, Extra: Progressive, Flat: Insidious, Subtle 1,

Flaw: Limited - One command per person only, Sense Dependent - Target must be able to

hear and see Lelouch) (32)

Advantages: Benefit 2 (Cipher, Royalty - Prince), Close attack,

Fascinate 2 (Deception, Persuasion), Inspire 1, Jack of all Trades,

Leadership, Setup

Equipment: None Normally. Maybe a pistol or a Sutherland knightmare frame.

Skills: Deception 6 (+12), Expertise: Chess 9 (+18), Expertise: Tactics 9 (+18),

Insight 4 (+10), Investigation 4 (+10), Persuasion 6 (+12), Ranged Combat: Mecha 4 (+6),

Stealth 2 (+4), Vehicles 2 (+4)

Offense: Initiative: +2, Unarmed: +2 (Damage -1), Geass: - (Affliction 15)

Ranged: +2 (Damage Varies)

Defense: Dodge: 2, Parry: 2, Fortitude: 2, Toughness: -1, Will: 10

Abilities: 48, Powers: 32, Advantages: 9, Skills: 23, Defense: 8 = Total: 120

Complications: Relationships: His younger sister Nunnally. His best friend Suzaku.

Sense of Justice: Wants to change the world for the better for his sister Nunnally at

any cost. To find the culprits behind the assassination of his mother.

Secret: Is secretly the revolutionary known as Zero.

Student: Lelouch attends Ashford Academy.

Notes: Lelouch is the protagonist of Code Geass. He is a embittered exiled
Britannian prince. Lelouch along with his younger sister Nunnally were sent to japan
after the assassination of their mother Marianne vi Britannia. Lelouch is actually
one of many children of the current ruler of Britannia. Almost no one in Ashford academy
knows of their royal heritage.

Lelouch would have remained in obscurity if it wasn't for his chance encounter with
a mysterious girl known as C.C. This green haired girl gifted Lelouch with psychic power
to mind control people. Lelouch can force people to obey one command for one time only.
These commands must be obeyed even after Lelouch has broken eye contact with them. This
ability has allowed Lelouch the opportunity to to forment plans to destroy the current
social darwinist system in Britannia.

Lelouch is physically pathetic. He can't even pass the physical education class in
Ashford Academy! However, he makes up for it with his keen intellect. His expertise in
chess serves him well to form brilliant tactical plans that confuse his enemies. In,
addition he is a manipulative and persuasive orator that can influence people to his side.

Personally, he can be quite cold, calculating, selfish, and ruthless towards his enemies.
He can reluctantly kill numerous innocent strangers who are in the way as long as it advances
his plans. He is not a complete sociopath and does question the rightness of his cause from
time to time. He simply believes that the end justifies the means. Nevertheless, he is quite
protective of close friends and family.

The stats above are perfect as both heroic and villainous archetypes for other members of
the imperial Britannian family! Cornelia li Britannia and Schneizel el Britannia have similar
stats. Just remove the Geass power and assign points elsewhere as needed.

Rank 5 seems a little low for a Geass-on the show, no one is ever shown to be able to resist a Geass, be it the Emperor's or Rolo's or of course Lelouch's. Lulu even Geasses himself once.

In 2E, you could just use the no saving throw extra, but in 3E, I'd figure high ranks would be the only way to model the effect. I guess with insidious and Progressive, you could eventually get the result, but only two people were ever able to resist a Geass for even a little while.

Also, a Feature might be fitting to model the fact that people don't remember what they do under Lulu's Geass.
