Re: Skeletal Wall - How would you build this power?

If you're trying to accurately recreate the D&D spell (which is always a terrible idea in my opinion), you'd need either convoluted use of the Limited flaw or the Uncontrolled flaw (where you and the GM just agree that it works exactly like the D&D spell). You'd need a Create Object that produced wa...

Re: Skeletal Wall - How would you build this power?

Create object, then tie on some way to add damage and snare auras to the object.

Re: How uncontrolled is Uncontrolled?

I do want consistent effectiveness on the Emotion Control; as I said, the illusion being whatever the target fears, desires, hates, loves or whatevers the most is just a descriptor, albeit one you'd expect on higher ranked powers. The Emotion Control is dependent on the Illusion; it doesn't kick in ...

How uncontrolled is Uncontrolled?

A recent thread has gotten me thinking. There are many instances in comic books where heroes are trapped in a seemingly perfect paradise and/or their worst nightmares by an illusionist of some sort. I've come to the conclusion that how this power, and similar powers such as a mask that causes everyo...

Re: Talks with ghosts?

I'd recommend the Connected, Contacts and Well-Informed feats. Men who talk to the dead have a very large, if unusual, information network potentially at their fingertips.

Re: Illusion feats

Not that I know of. I would also debate whether or not this could be a feat. Default Mind Reading is 1 point per rank, and 'Limited to information needed to enhance illusions' is probably a -3 modifier, so that's 1 point per 4 ranks. However, it's a standard move to get surface thoughts and mind pro...

Re: How to make mental auras not suck?

Duration modifiers apply to the aura and the power separately. You buy sustained once, and the aura is sustained, the nausea effect itself is still instant. If you want the nausea effect to be sustained as well, then the duration modifiers need to be applied twice.

Re: How to make mental auras not suck?

You can turn your aura on or off as a free action and it is sustained in duration (the effect itself has its normal duration, so a Stun Aura’s effect is still instant in duration and lasting). You can change your aura effect’s duration with Duration modifiers. Ultimate Power, page 99, under the Aur...

Re: crazy scenes

This Tuesday, while playing my Juggernaut expy, our mansion was spontaneously attacked by ninjas while we were meeting some new teammates in the living room. I overran and stomped on two ninjas. The second of those two ninjas was joined by a third one and they both tried to sword me. Thanks to my Re...

Re: "Overload" Power Build

I agree with peregrine, but I don't think this would be a normal Limited: Subjects with energy source flaw. A more expensive flaw is needed to represent the fact that the strength of the disintegrate is dependent on the magnitude of the energy source. -2, maybe?

Re: Quotes of the Week

"If you had no feet, would you wear socks?" "I guess not." "Then why are you wearing a bra?" All the ice in the polar caps of Mars couldn't cool down that burn. Anyhow, I'm playing a Juggernaut expy in the campaign I'm in. Tuesday night, we were fighting a very powerful mutant terrorist on the thir...

Re: Reflective:Non Damaging Effects, Scattering and Area Attacks

I was actually thinking that it would reflect all attacks by default, but the ranged reflections have Uncontrolled or Unreliable on them (the player and the GM work out which one), but really it's just six of one and a half dozen of the other. If the player has a really, really good descriptor, they...

Re: Reflective:Non Damaging Effects, Scattering and Area Attacks

I'm not looking for a deflection, I'm looking for reflection of any effect of one descriptor which doesn't break my suspension of disbelief. This can be broken down into 3 conditions: A) If the character is hit by any effect of descriptor, the effect will be reflected. B) The reflected effect might ...

Re: Reflective:Non Damaging Effects, Scattering and Area Attacks

The Reflective extra, when you include the cost of Impervious Protection, is 3 per rank if it works on only melee, ranged or any one descriptor and 4 per rank if it works on all attacks. Of course, Impervious Toughness has its own benefits, which Reflective is dependent on, so it is only fair to thi...

Re: Reflective:Non Damaging Effects, Scattering and Area Attacks

I was thinking lightsabers myself, but then I released that was a device with Deflect with Reflection and maybe Redirection. I suppose that there are 2 schools of thought on +0 reflection: The first being the dramatic school, which just a complication/hero-point generator, and the second being the o...
