Question on how to use the board

I am posting this here since I didn't see a forum for questions about the board. If this is the wrong forum please move.

How do you place an image in your post? Does it have to be on a web page or can you upload from your computer?

Thanks.

Re: Energy Aura

I get where you're coming from there, but I have to question whether a power or power combination that is going to be used as a plot device NEEDS to be stated in the first place. Okay, so an NPC has the ability to stop time, and it doesn't allow a saving throw. Why give that power ranks? If it's li...

Re: Energy Aura

Here's the issue as I see it: 1) Aura as a reaction happens when someone touches the aura. it's like triggering a pit trap in D&D: you walk into it, you're in trouble. 2) If you punch with a fiery hand, that's the same thing as hitting with an electric sword, or clubbing someone with a torch: it's ...

Re: hero lab pathfinder question

Actually I think this was the last of my pathfinder questions. The rest of it is fairly intuitive and easily customized. It was just this one thing that they didn't put in the magic item drop down menu. Custom everything else is there. Probably just an oversight, or it doesn't interface well with th...

Could you tell me how you do this so that I can see if I am doing it wrong or if it is just disabled in the demo?

If I am doing it wrong it gives me a chance to check out more of the functionality.

Thanks

Re: Trade offs in hero lab

I wasn't looking for a way to enforce it. Just to get it to stop showing the little purple arrows until after the traits reached certain points. It isn't a flaw or anything just kind of annoying. Once the get the actual rules updates and normal stuff implemented it might be a nice touch. I am not a...

Re: Trade Off Question

You were the one saying it was silly that you couldn't use that mechanic in situations where there's no attack roll. I was saying it is silly because by the rules: 1. even if I have my opponent helpless and place the knife right up against his chest but need the extra damage of power attack I have ...

Re: Shapeshift

Look at Plastic Man's build. Reallocating existing traits is specified and adds 1 point per rank to the cost. While it's there in the Shapeshift sample power, I don't think it's supposed to be a freebie, instead being offset by the limitation to physical traits. Then again, a lot of the builds cont...

Re: hero lab pathfinder question

It wasn't a specific item per se, just trying to test the limits of the hero lab program. In the pathfinder game I am currently playing in we haven't needed anything particularly wacky. However once we are done with the modules the DM spent a crap ton of money on we will likely be doing our own thin...

Re: A couple quick (I hope) questions

Green Lanterns in the comics don't outdo every other character in sight. They're usually among the big hitters, but barring special cases and transient situations, aren't the absolute top of the pile in any consistent way. In part this is because they're chronically underutilized (as are most power ...

Re: Trade Off Question

Like I said above, rules are rules. I just think this one is kind of silly. It probably does have to do with game balance but silly none the less. It's only silly if you think of Power Attack as the character actually applying "extra strength". Then it makes sense that that strength should be avail...

Re: Robots and Psychic Powers (am I reading the rules right?)

First off let me say, I agreed a page or so back that the rules do not allow "nonorganic" minds to have immunity to mind reading, just because the are nonorganic. What I have been discussing the last few posts are two other issues I have with that particular rule. 1. It has been stated in this threa...

Re: So, I May Reconsider My Whole Super Breath Opinion

Hm, was that by any chance in the same scene? (I mean if you use a power stunt to get a power for a whole scene, wouldn't you try to get the most use out of it?) I believe it was. I had not considered that. As I said though he didn't seem fatigued by it. Later in the same scene when he used extra e...

hero lab pathfinder question

I was just wondering if anybody knows whether or not the licensed version of hero lab allows for the construction of unique magic items? Specifically wondrous items.
