Re: Limited Campaign Using Justice League - Power Level Conc

I already adapted the 2.0 version of Time of Crisis to run in the DC Universe. I did a good number of substitutions for characters and mixed it up a bit. Bear in mind, the mod was written for a PL 10 party so if you're using the JLA as written, you'll need to beef up some of the opposition. I used ...

Re: Nitpicking about the Monitors

Another thought - I'm not sure about making the Monitors PLX. While they are certainly vastly, ludicrously powerful, they are not completely beyond threat from non-omnipotent heroes. Remember, Supergirl nearly beat the Anti-Monitor to death with her bare hands; Superman from Earth-2 later put up a p...

Nitpicking about the Monitors

This isn't a big deal or even a proper complaint, but I figured it might be worth mentioning if anyone is interested. The DC Universe book's section on the Monitors doesn't get it quite right, which isn't surprising given just how weird and conceptual and semi-incoherent Final Crisis was. The book t...

Re: Limited Campaign Using Justice League - Power Level Conc

Yeah, that was my thought. The game is also Justice League focused - the closest to street level anyone would be likely to play would be Batman. So I am wondering if that changes the feasibility at all. Superman an Robin on the same team might be a problem, but how about a variance of 2-3 power leve...

Limited Campaign Using Justice League - Power Level Concerns

Hi! I pitched a game to my group to use DC Adventures to run a self-contained campaign of a set number of sessions, with the players as the Justice League. I figure I'll be using a heavily modified Time of Crisis, adjusted to be a bit more like the actual Crisis on Infinite Earths. (Although I'm a b...

Campaign Idea - Thought I'd share

I've been kicking around an idea for a Mutants and Masterminds campaign; I thought I would share, in the event anyone feels like using it, since I don't have the time or players to run it at the moment. The influences will become pretty clear as you read on, but hopefully they'll be a surprise to pl...

Re: Using Mimic Without Calculating Points - Possible?

Been thinking about this a bit more, and since the character really isn't interested in the mechanics of it, I think I'm just going to plan ahead a bit and create 'Mimic templates' after all. It helps that I'm mostly running pre-made characters and adventures. So if she touches Gamma the Atom Smashe...

Using Mimic Without Calculating Points - Possible?

So I'm running a game for several friends. One of them is interested in playing but not really interested in the numbers side of the game; she created a character concept and is letting me stat it out. However, the concept she'd like to play is a telepathic, shapeshifting alien who mimics peoples' p...

Re: Daleks And davros

Just to take a different approach - if you wanted, the Daleks from the show exactly as written have an already-explained way to show up in the Freedom City universe. At the end of season 2, millions of Daleks (not to mention Cybermen) are dumped into the void between parallel universes. Where I like...

Using Dr. Tomorrow

In the vein of my similar post, I am quite keen on using Dr. Tomorrow in the story, in at least three capacities -- the historical one in the Golden Age, during a time travel to WW2 story, the current one when/if I run Time of Crisis, and the future Guardian of Time version, actually also for the WW...

Distinguishing Masterminds

I'm gearing up to run Mutants and Masterminds for my group in the nearish future. I've got a few stories kicking around, but also a slight conundrum -- I am quite fond of both Lame Mage's Dr. Null and Mastermind from the Freedom City corebook, and am probably going to use them both. Now, in terms of...

Will you be using mostly Paragon characters in an Aberrant style setting, or integrating them with pre-existing Aberrant characters, using M&M / Paragons rules? 'Cause, if so, I'd love to see some of your conversions for Aberrant characters to the M&M system (and not just the crazy powerful ones li...

Combining Aberrant and Paragons

I'm considering a campaign setting using the M&M rules, which would basically combine a number of the elements from the Paragons toolbox with the setting, and some metaplot elements, from Aberrant. If you were putting together something like this, what would you want to see? Which organizations from...

Interesting thoughts about the "Good is just WRONG" cosmic nature of CSA-world, here. I've always liked the CSA as a concept myself, but I'd kind of like to see it applied to a world that wasn't quite as inherently positive as the DCU. An evil counterpart to Superman would be pretty unstoppable, an...

Lord Adamant "Ack, your fires will not burn this one. Try to remove the woman from the field, before she regains her wits!" While Mandragora reels, Lord Adamant presses his advantage with another salvo of crackling force. Nothing fancy -- just plain old shooting the guy worked once, might as well t...
