What happens if he stands outside on a sunny day? I'm unsure of exactly when you're supposed to transform. Yeah, good questions. I guess the ultimate form would be like you both suggested: Alternate Form. I'm figuring Energy. On a sunny day, he'd gradually build power. Conceptually, his boost is li...

Shadow Light Powers

I've got a concept for a character that I'm having difficulty writing up. My problem is two-fold: my tastes have shifted through the years to very rules-lite approaches on power design and I'm bit overwhelmed with 2nd ed M&M. Also, my concept revolves around the color or special effect of the charac...

Paragon has certainly piqued my interest. I can see a campaign around characters dealing with their superpowers. However, I wonder how M&M would address that, or would it just be first generation heroes doing what we've been doing in Freedom City for all these past years? I'd be interested in the fo...

Thanks, Bravo. I came across that site during my search and bookmarked it. However, considering the success of JL and the Animated Series DVD's, I thought there would be more. I guess not. Thanks again.

Looking For Original Bruce Timm Style Art

I'm thinking of starting an entirely new campaign. I don't want anything already published in either the comic or game industry. However, I do want the players to come into the universe with a sense of feel for it. Basically I'm going to go with a JL tone, except without Batman, Superman, Wonder Wom...

I liked the Batmobile. The equipment Batman uses are high-end prototypes, so the Batmobile needs to exceed anything currently available. What else could it be? Something faster and more maneuverable than any of the current super sportcars would be too much and inappropriate. If you install more devi...

Of all the changes, this is the only one that I'm a little leery of. My concern is mostly with Bluff. I can't think of reason not to sink four points into it, max at the PL+5 (assuming PL10), cancel out the penalties to only the most outlandish attempt, and get a cheap version of Mind Control. Of co...

MnM actually plays very well on the table top as is. It probably has something to do with its d20 roots. Base movement is six inches and average PL 10 heros moves 10 inches. You only roll initiative once and there aren't hit points to keep track of, so there is less book keeping. These are the eleme...

Thanks for all the suggestions. There are some really good ones that I don't know how I could have overlooked.

Help With a Theme Song

I incorporate music into my games. Aside from using a consistent theme song before the session, I've also included varied songs that hint to the particular session taking place. It helps with the mood and clues the players to the kind of game lined up for them. Anyway, I'm thinking of starting a new...

That seems complicated for something that is pretty straight forward. One of MnM's strength is its simplicity. I'd just treat it as a power stunt and replace the bonus with the ranks of power.

I'd design this as Telekinesis with the flaw: affects only inertia. The details are as you described with only objects in motion and so on. I'd also give it the Grapple extra (the already attached flaw will cover that it only affects non-moving objects.) As for all the other weird effects, such as t...

I'm excited about this. I've long felt that the d20 roots are generally what holds MnM back from truly being groundbreaking in it's field. What makes MnM outstanding are: simple power creation, damage saves, and hero points. These items have nothing to do with d20, and in the case of damage saves, f...

Yeah, it's better to avoid something that will require a rewrite of characters. The abstract approach of one attack representing a flurry of punches is something I've thought of as well, but in the heat of "battle" it's easy to fall slip in and out of the narrative. A game mechanic that reminds the ...
