Re: what pl?

I think Monolith's assessment is pretty accurate. As for how May at PL5 could compete against a guy like Ward at PL6: May should have the various 'Maneuver' advantages and higher overall attack/defense bonuses- allowing her to better adjust her survivability (trading up to five points). Ward is simp...

Re: Energy absorption should be cheaper

This is a two question post I guess. As everyone know, energy absorption is "Enhanced trait, reaction, fades", which equals out to per base cost, which isn't really worth it. Either have 5 ranks of strength permanently, or have 5 ranks of strength that you only get when you are hit with (x), and on...

Re: Secret ID problem

On thing he- Jay is doing is making villains that not only want to kill him but making them desperate, because they have no where to hide, no where to relax, because their IDs are going public and that is not good for them. Ah. So it sounds like you want to indicate to him that actions have consequ...

Re: Question about unique attack powers.

I was looking through a build in a power profile book. And came across this. Perception Ranged Movement (Dimensional Travel to a “shadow world”) Attack (Resisted by Will, base DC 11) • 4 points +3 points per +1 in resistance DC. And when I tried to simulate this. Herolab says it costs 1 point to in...

Re: Powerhouse

How about replacing it with: Immunity - 19 / 12 Flaw: Limited to half-effect -1/rank where noted *Cold damage (5) ( half-effect ) *Environmental cold (1) *Environmental heat (1) *Environmental pressure (1) *Environmental vacuum (1) *Fatigue effects (5) ( half-effect ) *Heat damage (5) ( half-effect ...

Re: Villain idea for my campaign (brainstorming)

Pulling from what hypervirtue said, having the knighthood be a private military corporation, why not re-skin the always awesome Freedom City villains The Power Corps ? They are updated for 3E and available for free here . *Reduce their enhanced strength in favor of strength-based damage (beam swords...

Re: Ultimate aim, critical threat?

M&M doesn't really have the whole "critical threat" thing. Either you hit with a crit or you don't. M&M does have a "critical threat" thing; though in practice I can see where it could seem like it didn't (i.e. results of a natural 20 plus the attack bonus always equalling/exceeding the defense val...

Re: Senses relocation

Sounds like a Feature; 1 pt for one sense (i.e. Normal vision -or- Infravision), 2 pts for an entire sense type (i.e. sight -or- hearing).

Re: With regards to Healing and Regeneration

Also if the GM decides that loss of limbs or severe damage to internal organs is going to be a part of the campaign (futuristic sci-fi or Iron Age games), then he can always allow a Feature extra to be taken that regrows limbs/organs (Much like 2nd edition's Regrowth power feat).

Re: immunity bruise?

that feels about right it would be powerful so 40 is a good price for it I think... was kinda thinking a super hero version of rocky balboa doesn't regen or anything like that and def is actually hurt able but until you actually put him down he just keeps going. A cheaper alternative would be ten r...

Re: Fire-Wire and Fusebox

I agree that the loss of the equipment that the character requires to generate the effect (his armor with the harness and fire whips) ought to be a Power Loss complication (either as a PC or as an NPC) for the reasons that Beliriphon indicated. With regards to constructing an effect for continuing d...

Re: Fire-Wire and Fusebox

That simple? Gah. And here I was killing myself trying to work in elongation and all that. How does one do burning? As in sets things on fire, burning. I'm not finding a 'lingering' mechanic, but I'm sure I saw one. Can someone point out the section, cuz apparently, I'm blind today. Generally speak...

Re: Fire-Wire and Fusebox

But Fire-Wire is a sort of cross between DC's Firefly and Marvel's Whiplash, and the main issue is how to build the flaming whips I want for them. So how do you do whips that do damage, anyway? Use the Reach flat extra; each rank adds five feet to the range of a close range effect. Just add it to e...

Re: Nemesis for a Paragon

Damage is in Heroes & Villains Volume One if you, or one of your friends, has access to it. He is a pretty well done PL9 character who is capable of tangling with higher PL foes for a short time, during which the havoc his powers can wreak on their surroundings is enough to run any Paragon ragged tr...

Re: Componant flaw

This is already covered in the game. It is a 1 point flat flaw. Not a "per rank" flaw. It is the same as a Magnetic Controller taking "Blast" as an alternate power, where they throw metal at someone, and taking the flat flaw "Quirk: Requires Metal" from Power Profiles. In this case it is, "Quirk: R...
