Re: Jab's Builds: Morph, Thunderbird, Holocaust, Spider-Man

Earth Force (Washington): Skyhawk (Skrull), Earth Lord, Wind Warrior Ha. I just saw this group while looking through my 'update to the handbook of the marvel universe' and noticed that Wind Warrior could fly and control the wind, and Skyhawk could just fly, and wondered how useless he must feel on ...

Re: Jack of Spades: Toad, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Lorele

Too bad, too- the whole "Lava User" character is REALLY under-utilized in comics- the closest ones I can even think of are Volcana (who is basically just a Blaster with no Earth Control feats), and that nobody Volcano God of the Mayan Pantheon. DC's Geo-Force, from the Outsiders (and, blink and you...

Re: Jab's Builds: Blink, Sasquatch, Nocturne, Mimic, Morph

Ah Morph, one of those characters (like the WildCATS Spartan or Stryker from the Avengers Academy) who goes for a year or so with one specific power (shapeshifting, in his case), and then, out of the blue, can apparently fly, for no darn reason at all. Still, a great character, from a great run. I l...

Re: The Combined DCU-Marvel Universe thread

The question with a Legion of Super-Heroes adaptation for a DCU/Marvel Universe mashup is what sort of contribution the Marvel Universe will add, since we have lots of near-future MU stuff (2099, Days of Future Past, A-Next, Killraven, at least one version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.), but ...

Re: [Green] Arrow TV Series

I'm thinking the lack of rational motivation might have something to do with the Mirakiru making Slade crazyflakes and irrational.

Re: [Green] Arrow TV Series

I can't help but smile when Felicity says something cringe-worthy and embarrassing (like her 'your girl' riff this ep), because she sells it so well, and I loved her silly attempt to get in on the scar-discussion, and Sara's comment, 'She's so cute.' Even the 'NPCs' in this show are sometimes intere...

Re: NBC's Heroes Reborn

That show would have been well served by the writers sitting down to play a few games of M&M, and get an idea how to tell a story involving people with super-powers, instead of being stuck every single season (sometimes several times in a single season) finding excuses for why Hiro and / or Peter's ...

Re: GAZbuild: Atlanteans, Tiger Shark, Radioactive Man, Song

As a big fan of Sebastian Shaw, and of at least some of the Hellions that Fitzroy killed (okay, one of them, Catseye!), I really loved to hate those darn Upstarts! Ah Songbird, the single most popular member of the Thunderbolts (at least as far as my unofficial, non-scientific poll can determine) an...

Re: International Heroes

My Greek national super-team included an invulnerable dude (former history teacher) who called himself Achilles, a healer named Aesculapius (who could also drain life-energy from people in combat, but usually chose not to), a giant man with grey stone-like skin named Olympus, a shapeshifter (possibl...

"Forget Captain Marvel, I am Captain DC!"
"Kind of on the nose, don't you think?"
"What? DC. Direct Current, which is how my lightning bolts work. What did you think it meant?"

Re: [Green] Arrow TV Series

I kinda hate Laurel and her storylines however. She is quickly starting to become what Lana Lang became for Smallville, a character kept around past their usefulness to the series just because. At least imo. That's my worry about Laurel, as is. There's already a ton of other interesting characters ...

Re: The HOBBIT An Unexpected Journey 2013

I was actually underwhelmed by the CGI dragon. I think I prefer the effects used for dragons in movies like Dragonslayer and even the (otherwise very bad) movie Reign of Fire. Plus, 'Smaug the Golden?' Smaug was Smaug. There was a 'the Golden' dragon in Middle-Earth, but his name was Glaurung, IIRC....

Re: S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Series by Whedon

If the fact that Coulson is still alive isn't at least addressed in 'The Winter Soldier' that's going to feel like a huge oversight to me. Coulson also pretty clearly outright states the "Welcome to Level 7" is him being a nerd and going for dramatic effect. That does seem to be the case, since he ...

Re: Jab's Builds: Archer, Changeling, Arsenal/Roy Harper, Ko

Ah, Kole, what a cool power, with an awesome visual. (Much like Krystalin, from X-Men 2099.) Such a messed up origin, 'though!

And another of those people who has a super-power, and then flight-for-no-darn-reason. :)
