Re: OpenOffice Character Builder 2.15

I figure a way to have a "apply growth/strength modifier" toggle on teh "Ability" sheet would be nice, but I strongly suspect OoCalc doesn't have a way to make that. Of course it can. I just didn't do that. I think my days of playing M&M may be over, sadly, so my motivation to update the character ...

Re: Fábrica de Heróis Translated

The old (3/4 view) version works fine for me locally. I really dislike the new version. It's unfortunate that he changed the models.

I keep meaning to translate the the text to English and recompile it, but I never have.

Yes, absolutely. Taking away the ability to take 20 means more rolls and less role-playing. Bad decision.

In 3E, can you take 10/take 20 with attack rolls?

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

There's going to be thousands of people who hate it simply because it's D&D. It is completely pointless to try and keep from alienating irrational people. If someone will or won't buy a book because it has a "d20" on the cover, regardless of its merits, it is pointless to try to convince them other...

Cheap?? At six points power rank (one rank each in six different "conditions"), it's one of the most expensive powers in the game.

This is my favorite.

Although to be honest, my favorite version of Power Girl was Galatea from the Justice League cartoon. I did not care anything about the character, prior to that.

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

Panic, no. But I will confess that almost everything I have heard so far has been more of a "Erm. I like that the way it is. Why are they futzing with it?" than of the "Oh, boy! That's always bugged me! Yay!" variety. The only things that have sounded like genuine improvements (e.g., combining Craft...

What is this about "power curves"? I do not know what that is.

Regeneration is already one of the most complicated powers in the game (due to the ridiculous number of "damage conditions" M&M as). How could they possibly make it any worse?

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

At level 10 Galactus is X... but at PL 17 is he still. Yes. Galactus is a plot device. "I hit him with my axe" is never the right answer when facing Galactus or any other PL X character, no matter what PL the PC is or how many of them there are. And frankly, I feel dumber for even participating in ...

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

"The Galactus obliteration perimeter encompasses three star systems, and does not slow!"

I put it to you that a character whose blast radius is in excess of two star systems is power level X.

Not that this really has much to do with the topic. But still.

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

My typical character has between 25 and 30 points in skills. The one I will be playing in tomorrow night's game, for example, spent 27 points on skills.

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

Again, no disrespect is meant by anything I've said. I'm just exceptionally cautious when it comes to money. Same here. I bought close to a dozen copies of M&M 2e (most as gifts to others). I would have to take a good hard look at a game that was more complicated and made it more difficult to make ...

Re: Concerns regarding M&M 3rd edition

The first part of my statement, which you didn't quote, is important to the answer. :) If you build broad characters that are equally good at melee and range in 2e it's going to cost you more in 3e and you're going to be forced to shave some points via combat skills if you want it to cost the same....
